The Jags are 4-1 with the 1 loss by 3 points and last year crushed the Colts in JAX. Why were there so many jokes about Testaverde this week? I know he's old but it seemed like all the TV pundits went out of their way to poke fun at the Panthers for signing him.
Guest TheJuice31 Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 Cleveland exposed the New England defense more so than Dallas did today. Outside of some sloppy tackling on Jones and Barber, they played just fine. Dallas came into this game as the top offense in the league, and really only pieced together three solid drives today. Giving up 20 points to the top offense is about on par with the points they've given up on average so far, and of course you expect Dallas to put up more points than a New York or a Cincinnati. The defensive TD for Dallas was the saving grace for that thing, because they were damn slow out of the gates and didn't really hit their stride until the end of the first half, which isn't really much of a surprise. Dallas' defense was a bit misleading heading into this game, because while people threw around how neither Dallas or New England had played anyone record-wise, Dallas hadn't seen anything that even remotely resembles a solid offense, whereas Cincinnati and Cleveland both had top 10 scoring offenses heading into this game. That thing is just a machine right now. The fact that they could roll the 3rd string RB out there and still not miss a beat...damn.

I'm so sick of how good the Patriots are that I just want to give them the Super Bowl right now, and let everyone else play for 2nd place and play that game in February. Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen a team be five games up in the win column on everyone else in their division after week 6. New England is going to have more wins than everyone else in their division combined by season's end. Book it.

NoCalMike Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 As long as the Redskins beat the Cardinals next week and are 4-2 going into the following week playing the Patriots, I think Redskins/Patriots would be an interesting matchup. No, I don't expect the Redskins to win, but they do have the #1 Defense in the league, and for two weeks in a row they pretty much shut down the #1 passing offenses in the league and it does seem the Pats use the Passing game to setup the running game. The Redskins offense is way too inconsistent and too mistake-prone to stick around with the Pats, but right now I'd say the Redskins Defense has the best chance to do any type of scheming against the Pats. They have depth in their secondary, and no one has been able to run on them yet. They are also causing turnovers which is a nice turnaround suprise coming off a horrid ratio in 2006. Of course as a Skins fan, my heart will be rooting for the upset, but more importantly I am interested in the game as a measuring stick, for not only how good the Skins can play against THE ELITE team of the league, but also how for real the #1 Defense is.

They play Miami in Miami next week (my birthday, no less) and I've learned to expect the unexpected when they go down there (like Brady thinking he can complete a pass from flat on his ass twice in one season).

For some reason he ends up looking like a confused rookie down there in the second half of a football game. I had that as one of the games the Pats would be in the most trouble but the way the Miami defense looks this year, I am not sure even Brady screwing up could help the Dolphins win that game.

Using a tone and syntax reminiscent of old Movietone newsreel audio, the quetionable questioner was allowed to act goofy to not only head coach Bill Belichick but also Tom Brady, meaning no one in Big D had the brains to bounce the bozo after his first unprofessional, embarrassing and attention-grabbing line of questioning. True, it's only a post-game press conference, but some level of decorum and professionalism should be expected. A circus atmosphere is not what the NFL is looking for, we are certain. At least one member of the Boston media was stunned by the pathetic excuse for a sports journalist and wondered to Shots, "You'd think he'd have his credential revoked, right?" belichick.mp3 At 1:56 – 2:06 of audio: Bozo: "Champ, Champ Talk about your Beantown offense in the second half. Watch as they blame the offensive line and the recivers for Joey Harrington playing like shit. "Thats 6 drops!!" No. There were two drops in the game. The others were horrible passes. The crowd was chanting for Chris Redman. But according to the commentary it was everyones fault except Joey Harrington.

They did a good job of protecting Harrington and the recievers ran good, smart routes while Joey was throwing the ball all over the place. You can't hold the ball for 3 hours in the pocket and not expect to get pressure on you. I wish he who will not be named had this kind of protection... *sigh*
