MLB League Championship Series Thread

Recommended Posts

I would think the time of the football game would be moved, wouldn't it? I thought MLB had an agreement with the NFL that there wouldn't be an NFL night game on the same night at a WS game?

I just noticed that next Sunday, Denver has the night game on the football schedule. Game four of the World Series is that night in Denver as well.

It's actually Game 5 that's affected, as the Broncos play on Monday Night Football next week. They're on Sunday Night Football tonight.

There is no Sunday night game next week, and I think (not sure) that the NFL schedule came out before MLB announced they were changing the start date of the World Series. There's usually not a World Series game on Monday.

The problem isn't that they're on the same night, it's that they're both IN Denver.

Taco Bell is giving out free tacos if any player steals a base in the World Series. Hardly seems worth the trouble.

Well, yes, but MLB put itself into this predicament when they announced the switch after the NFL schedule had already been released. They knew there was a game in Denver on the Monday night of Game 5.

Besides, it's not going to matter, because we all know Colorado is sweeping the World Series anyway.

As much as I like baseball over football, I kind of hope this causes MLB all kinds of problems. That's what they get for needlessly starting the world series on Wednesday.

There's a part of me that hopes it means an earlier start. Well, all of me hopes that.

We haven't done a chat yet this postseason. Let's run one this evening. Invite yourself to "TSMBaseball" on AIM.

Why not use the TSM chat?

The big reason was that it didn't log everything from start to finish. It's also clunkier. I've had a few posters express a preference for the AIM format.

It's been years since I've been on AIM. How do I do this?

IM me (alkeiper) and I'll send you an invite.

Manny plays the wall very well, Indians should really know that and not run into the first out of an inning.

Last time I checked, Lofton was safe and I didn't need to see instant replay. Too bad the blind up who was right there couldn't get the correct call.

I'll have finished watching Waiting For Guffman and not missed the end of the game. So hey.

What is it about Yankee fans complaining about umpires?

I am watching this game unbiased and me speaking the truth about the call is not complaining.

Truth or not (and Lofton was safe), some guys get so adamant about it. I usually take close calls in stride. And it's really hard to get a close baserunning play and it's not something you can really apply instant replay to.

Unreal. Skinner may have just cost the Indians a trip to the Series. Blake doesn't get much credit for hacking away on a first pitch that was bound to be something near the ground.
