Guest Smues Report post Posted October 17, 2007 I don't think I've bought or listened to an album that was released this year, but I've heard plenty of shitty songs on the radio. I'll start by mentioning an easy one, Crank that soulja boy. Dear god is that an awful song. Like many songs I had NO clue what the fuck they were saying when I'd listen to it, but unlike other songs I'm still as confused after reading the lyrics online. At least now I now it's 'soul ja' boy and not 'soldier' boy but that's about it. If crank that hadn't come out my no brainer worst song of the year would have been Beautiful Girls or whatever it's called by Shawn Kingston. At least crank that soulja boy didn't get stuck in my head. Beautiful Girls lodged itself into my skull and just wouldn't leave. SUICIDAL, SUICIDAL! And apparantly there's a censored version where they don't say suicidal? christ like the song wasn't lame enough. I want to say Party Like a Rock Star, but really it wasn't THAT bad. It was bad, but not at crank that levels. If you start it about 50 seconds in and skip all that "good girl gone bad, y'all, hova told y'all, unh, hova, rocafella, king is back, jay-z, hova" shit, it's really a good R&B song, if you ask me. That high pitched keyboard thing, voice distorters, the part where they literally go "neer er neer er neer er neer". Everything about this song sucks. Crank That Soulja Boy - Those guys None of the people in the song seem like they are interested in making music. Party Like A Rockstar- Those other guys It's 2 samples over and over again. She went from some-what tolerable pop-rocky stuff to out right bubblegum pop. She looked like she was making an attempt (i'll be it, it was a half assed one) of being a singer/song-writer.
