Nighthawk Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 It is often tragic figures who become gay icons, but there are exceptions. I don't get the pattern either. I think a lot of it is self fulfilling. Like, one gay guy idolizes Judy Garland, and then his friend says "Say, you're right, she is pretty good." and then other people say "Hey, those gay guys love Judy Garland." And then when you're gay, you idolize her because that's what gay people do. That happens a lot in the gay community. Like right now in San Francisco there's an anti smoking ad campaign targeted at gays, which says "When did smoking become a part of us?" Which is true, a lot of gay people smoke because that's seen as something gay people do.
The Niggardly King Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 You have no idea the amount of disdain I have for my siblings...or maybe you do, I dunno. They represent all that's wrong with black people today and I can't stand either of them for it. You chose to focus on the negative... all you can see are those black people who act like "niggers" and do nothing of value. You probably have troubles finding the good in them, like the educated hard working ones. My brother, I get the feeling you might be one of the people who feels like he's superior when he's around other black people, but inferior when he's around white people. Your pointing your beliefs into the negative side of the world... whatever you think is what you truly get... once you start choosing to see the good in black people as a whole, that's what you'll get. Thank you for your time my brother.
Black Lushus Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 haha it's hard to focus on the positive when the negative is in your face!
The Niggardly King Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 My brother, it's all about what you chose to see. There is always going to be a negative in life, but that doesn't mean you have to be one of the sheep who just goes along with it. Once you start to chose to see the positive it will have a dramatic change on the way that you think.
Gary Floyd Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 I was actually wondering what happened to KOAB.
Cheech Tremendous Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 My brother, it's all about what you chose to see. There is always going to be a negative in life, but that doesn't mean you have to be one of the sheep who just goes along with it. Once you start to chose to see the positive it will have a dramatic change on the way that you think. If you're going to bold the word and use huge font, at least spell it right.
The Niggardly King Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 see you're just focusing on the negative
Hoff Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 Look @ this cool video of Scott Keith's Biggest Fan rocking out to Skye Sweetnam: So, I clicked the video, and half a second later I realized I was about to be Rickrolled. When I wasn't so rolled, I was a little disappointed. Then the thing with the lip synching happened and I was thrilled. That was quite the emotional rollercoaster you just put me on.
Nighthawk Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 I'm totally buying Skye Sweetnam's forthcoming album, by the way.
Guest Gym Class Fallout Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 I was disappointed to find out that game shows are a big part of gay culture, because I was raised on Scrabble and the $25,000 Pyramid. You go back and watch contestants from those old game shows that weren't Jeopardy, Family Feud, y'know, the big ones? Total flamers. Maybe they're drawn to flashing lights and turntables.
The Niggardly King Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 WOAH... totally homophobic there pal
Kinetic Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 Really, game shows? I had no idea. So there's Barbra Streisand, Cher, Dolly Parton, Judy Garland, colored hankies, tapping your foot in a bathroom stall, and now game shows. Everything that I enjoy is gay.
NYU Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 Hoff, how come you dont sign onto AIM? We've been having a baseball chat going for hours now.

So there's Barbra Streisand, Cher, Dolly Parton, Judy Garland, colored hankies, tapping your foot in a bathroom stall, and now game shows. Everything that I enjoy is gay. I certainly don't remember that incident when I watched it on USA as a kid. Poor Chuck. Awesome show, though, and annoyingly flamboyant as he may be, 24.8 is a really good sprint time.
Kinetic Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 It looked like Chuck wanted to sock him. By which I mean that it looked like he wanted to hit--or punch--him.
Guest Gym Class Fallout Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 I should write Chuck Woolery a friendly letter for being part of two fine shows such as these. But seriously, hwo does it take you 8.5 secs. to get "spare" off that clue? You could've gotten that before the clock started running. Back to the now-obvious gaiety of game shows: look at Hollywood Squares. Jim J. Bullock, Richard Simmons, Paul Lynde, Charles Nelson Reilly, that one fat eccentric ugly guy. It's a who's-who of B-list gays.
Jingus Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 Kathy Griffin did a bit in one of her standups about constantly being on Hollywood Squares, so, no surprise there. I find it amusing that this thread actually led several people who'd never heard of Skye to check out her music. I guess it's one of those any-publicity-is-good-publicity deals.
Guest Gym Class Fallout Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 'scuse me while I rape this Skye
Kinetic Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 I'm already thinking about how I'm going to phrase this anecdote once Ms. Skye becomes a huge pop sensation. I'm thinking of leaving out the phrase "Scott Keith's biggest fan."
Black Lushus Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 she's the opening act for a Canadian Idol winner, that can't be a good thing...
Giuseppe Zangara Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 I'm already thinking about how I'm going to phrase this anecdote once Ms. Skye becomes a huge pop sensation. I'm thinking of leaving out the phrase "Scott Keith's biggest fan." It's "Scott Keith's Biggest Fan." That's his name, so show some respect.
Kinetic Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 Where are my manners? I hope he didn't see that.
Guest Why2J Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 The way she puckers her lips in like EVERY pic makes me want to fuck her.
