MrRant Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 So how is that drought going? I'd be more than happy to put a few jugs outside and let it collect some of our fine Northwest water straight from the sky for you and mail it down.* *Ripper paying shipping since... 2007.
Ripper Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 I am personally waiting for a war to break out between Georgia, Flordia and Alabama. I would totally take down Georgia from the inside for the home state, but at the same time, Georiga jobs pay alot more than Alabama jobs. I think they all should just stop ratting on each other to the president and have a big UFC style tournament to determine who gets the most water. Sonny Purdue would win. But seriously, I haven't noticed any effects of the drought. If the state pays me, I will go and wash my car everyday, seeing as that seems to bring about rain no matter what.
At Home Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 That would be neat if wars could break out between states.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 I heard a while back there was some resort making snow not too long ago during this drought.
EricMM Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 Yeah, the reason you're not "noticing" any effect is that they're not "doing" anything about the drought. But the water is running out. I have no idea who is in charge over there, but the basic fact is that you've got a gatorade and coke factory running in your town, exporting your drinking water all over the country. During one of the worst droughts in recorded history, unless I'm off my mark. WTF.
Kinetic Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 They're also giving all of our water to endangered fish. Don't forget about them.
Dandy Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 It has pissed the rain here for the past 4 days (although not so far today). I don't think there is a drought in my area anymore.
Ripper Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 They're also giving all of our water to endangered fish. Don't forget about them. Oh please. Stop complaining. I would see if there was a perfectly fine aquarium about 2 hours away from the one in Atlanta. THEN I would understand blowing millions of gallons of water on the aquarium, but since there isn't.... ... http://www.tnaqua.org/ ... Oh. Never mind.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 They're also giving all of our water to endangered fish. Don't forget about them. Eric's for that, though. Although I thought it was mussels, not fish.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 Thanks for the water, Georgia. I've been leaving my shower running for the past couple of hours.
Guest Vitamin X Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 Hey, I think Eric pulled that off treehugger.com. Southern states have no fucking clue about environmentalism, whatsoever. Hopefully this drought teaches them something. Ironically, we're all about that here in the Northwest, where we could really be a lot more lax about water conservation than not, considering all the rain. Clean rain, too!
Giuseppe Zangara Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 It's been raining like fuck for most of the past month in Florida; I was surprised to learn, in spite of that, we were still going through a drought.
Guest Vitamin X Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 When is it not raining like fuck in Florida? At least in Miami, you could get 6 inches of rain in about 30 minutes down there at any given time, any day of the year. Sunshine State my ass, I was surprised that miserable swamp state could even go through a drought.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 Well, up until a month-or-so ago, I suppose we were going through something that was not unlike a drought. Then began the three week period where, except for a couple of breaks, it rained all day, every day.
EricMM Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles...ail_to_a_friend Georgia plans service to pray for rain ATLANTA --What to do when the rain won't come? If you're Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue, you pray. more stories like thisThe governor will host a prayer service next week to ask for relief from the drought gripping the Southeast. "The only solution is rain, and the only place we get that is from a higher power," Perdue spokesman Bert Brantley said on Wednesday. Perdue's office has sent out invitations to leaders from several faiths for the service, set for Tuesday. Perdue has several times mentioned the need for prayer -- along with water conservation -- as the state's drought crisis has worsened. Over the summer, he participated in day of prayer for agriculture at a gathering of the Georgia Farm Bureau in Macon, Ga. Perdue, a Baptist, has enjoyed strong support from Georgia's Christian conservatives. The Southeast has been suffering from an intense drought in recent months that has threatened supplies of drinking water. Georgia has been locked in a battle with Alabama and Florida over how much water should be sent downstream from the state's dwindling reservoirs. Governors from the three states reached a temporary agreement after meeting with Bush administration officials in Washington. The prayer service will be held outside the state Capitol on Tuesday. Unless, of course, it rains. "Then we'll move it inside, thankfully," Brantley said.

EVIL~! alkeiper Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 Get all the Braves fans to do a massive rain dance If you can't get them together at a Braves game how are you going to assemble them for a rain dance?
Guest Smues Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 Did praying for rain ever work after Spahn and Sain pitched?
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 Did praying for rain ever work after Spahn and Sain pitched? Maybe, but remember the Braves played in Boston in those years.

You mean like... CLOUDS? Oh wait, this is Georgia. Yes, of course rain is God's tears falling down from heaven.
