Bored 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2007 Oh, and damn you Bored for going with the exact number of points I was going to pick for Tiebreak number one (4 TD's each with a field goal from one team to win it) and forcing me to decide if I wanted to go under, over, or push for tiebreak 2 if needed. Didn't matter anyways, we differ on nine games.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2007 Well, that's the last time I listen to iggy on anything relating to Georgia Tech.
Guest Smues Report post Posted November 2, 2007 Nine games? Boy am I in trouble. And yeah thanks for that pick Iggy. (I reserve the right to delete that last comment if GT comes back in the 2nd half)
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted November 2, 2007 Wow, can't believe everyone's picking the upset this Thursday. Looks like a free point for me. I just can't imagine Virginia Tech knocking off the Jackets in Atlanta. I can! Plus, how is VT over GT an upset? VT is ranked #11, GT isn't even ranked. iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2007 Georgia Tech was a 2.5 point favorite at just about every sportsbook you could find. Basically because they were at home and most computer rankings had them about equal to Virginia Tech. When you turn the ball over 6 times and let the other team recover an onside kick, you're going to have a pretty hard time beating anybody though.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted November 2, 2007 You're making it sound more like GT gave it away than VT just simply routing them, which they did. An onside kick hardly matters in a 24-3 game, although that was a hell of a gutsy move, especially on the road against a decent team. VT caused six turnovers, and they're playing a lot better after a rocky start. Virginia-VT at the end of the season is going to be pretty awesome.
Bored 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2007 Nothing from Fokai yet, assigning Smues as replacment picks for tommorrow if needed. Edit: Fokai is a no show.

VT caused six turnovers, and they're playing a lot better after a rocky start. Virginia-VT at the end of the season is going to be pretty awesome. Georgia Tech's not the kind of team that can play from behind. They win games by running the ball, controlling field position, and playing good defense, but if you force them to throw the ball to try to catch up, they're fucked. That's what happened against VT. They had about 3 or 4 big breaks go against them early, they got down 2 scores, and then they abandoned the run and it was all over. It's not even like it was the wrong decision either as they're just not capable of coming back with their normal offense. Their two big wins this year were 13-3 over Clemson and 17-14 over Miami. FWIW, I agree that Virginia's playing very well, and I'd actually expect them to win the Coastal division over the Hokies.

CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2007 I'm going to need a miracle to win at this point. I thought Michigan was a lock, and it doesn't look like the Irish can stop Navy scoring in OT.
MFer 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2007 Thank you Navy. Now I just need LSU to hold on.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2007 WTF, I picked Colorado? Idiot. Texas, with a great comeback might salvage that idiotic pick.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2007 Well, there's part one of the miracle. Now I need Oregon and Missouri.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2007 Stupid Oklahoma State. They were up 35-14 with 12:00 left and they still managed to blow it somehow.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted November 4, 2007 Yes! Texas and Iowa with comebacks today, hopefully UConn can hold off Rutgers for the win.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2007 Hooray, I win, unless Oregon chokes, and probably even then. Thanks, Fokai!
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2007 Barring a pair of huge comebacks from Rutgers and South Carolina, my undefeated run and 17 game winning streak is over. I blame Bored for jinxing me.

CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2007 Well, I certainly pulled this win out of my ass. Another topsy-turvy week, as it looks like 4 of the top 5 are losing again.
teke184 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2007 Well, I win if there's no more points scored in Oregon-ASU. (The tiebreaker I picked was 57, which is 1 less than the current total of 58.) If another TD is scored, I lose. EDIT- Pending an Arkansas win over South Carolina, I mean, which is currently going my way.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2007 Another week fated by the tiebreaker but it goes to my favor this week and my downward slide ends, at least for now.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2007 Not looking good for me. I'm going to need a miracle comeback from Rutgers (down 16 with 12:30 left) or else I'm screwed. Didn't get a lot of picks right this week either so it would be pretty hard to make it back to the Bored Bowl if I do pick up a loss.

Broward83 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2007 UConn holding on to beat Rutgers gives me the win. Would've swept had 'Bama not fucked shit up. Ahh well.. much like the actual UT, hopefully we get into a semi-decent bowl in the end.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2007 Reason #87198 why I don't bet money on games. I didn't even know about that Notre Dame winning streak over Navy until I turned on the fourth quarter of the game.
