Inside jokes

So I'm wondering if any of you can think of good inside jokes that were made between announcers?

As an example, I'm talking about how Jesse Ventura always used to talk about how "that Joey Marella" is the worst referee in the WWF when Gorilla Monsoon (his father) was his announcing partner.

Yes, though it'd be after my time. Other people would probably appreciate it though.

(Though Gorilla and Joey were closer, whereas Lawler's always been kind of a dick to Brian Christopher and wasn't really ever there for him.)

Well to be fair, Brian screwed it up himself. Especially in his last wwe Run and getting kicked out of memphis for a year.

I just remember Honky saying in a shoot interview that Lawler was never there for Brian when he was a kid and that he deserted Brian and his mom. Also that Lawler was especially hard on Brian in the locker room and stuff.

The constant references in the 80s by Gorilla Monsoon and others about the 'Terry Garvin School of Self-Defense' and how he taught guys the go-behind, and whenever Garvin showed up, they'd talk about him bringing up the rear and how he was used to that position.

The endless Patterson jokes are the most common, but there are plenty of others. The best examples are when the WWE does cross-brand matches between Raw/Smackdown/ECW and have the different announce teams all commentating at the same time. Get a copy of the WWE/ECW Head-2-Head show they did before One Night Stand 2 if you want to hear some inside jokes, because they rip on each other all night long.

Not trying to defend Lawler for running out on his family or anything, but he pretty much had to be hard on Brian in the locker-room, especially in Memphis, otherwise people would have thought Brian was getting things handed to him.

Not sure if it's an inside joke, but J.R. has a knack for telling the audience a match sucks ass without saying those exact words.

The story Honky tells in one of his shoots was that Brian was five minutes late to a taping, when they were fining people for such things, and Lawler was going around to agents telling them that Brian was late and they should fine him.

I remember an ECW on Sci Fi episode from last year where Sabu was attacking Heyman, and one of the announcers (cannot remember if it was Joey or Taz) said "Beat him like he owes you money!"

The time when Patterson took off his shirt and was flexing for the crowd (I think it was to Hogan's music), Jim Ross said something like "...and he's single, fellas."

That "Jackie Gayda *****1/2 tag match" brings back memories of J.R almost heaving a sigh of relief when it got over.

The guy that Killed Brody, with a worked stab wound from Savio Vega, from an angle last year.
