majormayhem1 Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 Slash I've been reading his autobiography. When he says he's lucky to be alive, he's not blowing smoke out his ass.
ZGangsta Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 I really want to read this book but haven't had a chance to pick it up. I did read an excerpt where Slash tags along with a couple guys to a golf resort in Arizona where they're going to kick their drug habits, but ends up running naked and bloody through the resort in the middle of the day while being chased by miniature psychotic blue demons. So sounds pretty awesome.
Steviekick Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 I would like to read Slash's book eventually. Right now, I'm finishing up Nikki Sixx's The Heroin Diaries, and I really don't feel like reading another drugged up rocker book.
majormayhem1 Posted January 17, 2008 Author Report Posted January 17, 2008 The stories of drug abuse do get a bit tedious. But, the most interesting parts of the book are how the GnR was formed, where the songs came from, etc. Also, his Mom used to date David Bowie which I thought was interesting. The book should definately come with a warning label.
Ginger Snaps Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 This thread has a deceptive title. I was expecting a different kind of slash.
dubq Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 I was expecting a thread mostly filled with posts from Yuna Firerose...
Nighthawk Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 I was thinking that too. But I also read Slash's book, and it's good.
Ravenbomb Posted January 20, 2008 Report Posted January 20, 2008 The kind of slash I thought this thread would be about is the worst. Slash, however, isn't the worst.
Ginger Snaps Posted January 20, 2008 Report Posted January 20, 2008 The kind of slash I thought this thread would be about is the worst. Worst or best?
UZI Suicide Posted January 20, 2008 Report Posted January 20, 2008 I liked it. Some interesting stories about Axl. I bet Slash could write another book with all the shit he's probably forgot from that period.
majormayhem1 Posted January 23, 2008 Author Report Posted January 23, 2008 I liked it. Some interesting stories about Axl. I bet Slash could write another book with all the shit he's probably forgot from that period. I liked it, too. It gave me a better understanding of why the band broke up. You can't really blame any of them individually. They all added something negative to the situation.
Ravenbomb Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 The kind of slash I thought this thread would be about is the worst. Worst or best? Worst.
King Kamala Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 I wonder if there's any slash involving Slash out there? No, I know there is. And no, I don't want anybody to post any links to Slash/Axl slash.
