DrVenkman PhD Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 All I know is 2 years ago when Stewart hosted, they had Stephen Colbert do hilarious "attack ad" voiceovers for the best picture nominees. I demand something similar this year.

4hartthreat Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 I am looking at Michael Clayton possibly popping up in two categories. I think it has a shot at Best Picture and I think Tilda Swinton WILL win Best Supporting Actress.
King Kamala Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 I've heard rumors that No Country and TWBB are splitting the vote for Best Picture so we may get an upset. I think Michael Clayton is the best choice for a dark horse.
milliondollarchamp Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 Did anyone see crazy Gary Busey scare the shit out of Jennifer Garner on E's pre show.
BifEverchad Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 Any awards given out yet? besides costume, thats on now..
Mik Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 I thought a supporting always opened the show?
Hawk 34 Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 They changed that last year or quite recently.
BlackFlagg Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 All I wanna know is how did Wesley Snipes get in
Hawk 34 Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 I always enjoy the random seating. Seth Rogen next to Dennis Hooper?
Black Lushus Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 All I wanna know is how did Wesley Snipes get in "That nigga owes me 5 dollars!"
Gary Floyd Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 "Good evening Hollywood phonies" is still one of my favorite Oscar quotes.
Mik Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 Ratatouille needs to win this. Edit: Good.
Gary Floyd Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 Now that's how you start an acceptance speech.
Mecha Mummy Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 If Norbit wins I will laugh my ass off. EDIT: Curse you, predictable awards ceremony!
King Kamala Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 I thought Snipes was in exhile after that tax evasion charge. I guess whoever was handing out the invites must have been a big White Men Can't Jump fan.
Hawk 34 Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 Stewart just lost a shit load of material he had planned for a Norbit win.
Black Lushus Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 okay...I understand they need to keep the show moving at a decent pace, don't want it running long and all, but that playing the music during acceptance speech thing is really getting to be old hat. These people aren't even up there 20 seconds and the music starts in. Give these folks a break, winning an Oscar is the pinnacle of their career, they may never win another one, give them more than 20 seconds to talk.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 Why the hell did enchanted get 3 songs? Why couldnt they have gotten one of the songs from Sweeney Todd?
Gary Floyd Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 I'm probably going to have this song stuck in my head tomorrow.
King Kamala Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 I'm surprised that they even nominated Norbit. Even if it was for Best Makeup. I mean Rick Baker's already won six of 'em and is probably the most acclaimed make up guy in the business.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 If I won an oscar I think I would just stare blankly until the music rose...and then mumble that they never give you enough time...then leave.
Hawk 34 Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 okay...I understand they need to keep the show moving at a decent pace, don't want it running long and all, but that playing the music during acceptance speech thing is really getting to be old hat. Give these folks a break, winning an Oscar is the pinnacle of their career, they may never win another one, give them more than 20 seconds to talk. They need to save time for stuff like clips from Catherine Zeta Jones. They'll push the small guys like that who was actually funny for a change but if Clooney wants 5 minutes, they'll give him 5 minutes.
