How Do You Like Your Steaks?

Recommended Posts

I've never been a fan of T-Bone steak at all. I never understood its popularity.

It looks pretty bad ass.

Eh, I go medium well. Never was a steak person until a few years ago and started out at medium well because anything on the rare side just looks aesthetically unappealing.

There's a place here in Texas called "Texas Land and Cattle".. their smoked sirloin is some of the best steak I've ever head. Even at medium well it just comes off so moist and tender.

Medium rare in practically all situations. I eat the steak I cook with A-1 sauce since I'm lousy with spices. However, I think a good sitdown restaurant steak should be able to stand on its own without the need for steak sauce.

Maybe it's a comfort food thing, but I like cheap breakfast-type steak with buttery sauteed onions and mushrooms and gravy.

Mel's Diner around here has a daily special. Steak & Eggs $4.99 After 9pm. It is pretty cheap quality steak, but once you cut up the over-easy eggs and smother it over your steak, it makes for one hell of a cheap meal on the fly.........

Medium or medium well, depending on the place.

I only go for ribeyes too. I am always trying to come up with my own rub, but for now, I marinate in Worshire sauce, a little vineger, olive oil, burgany cooking wine, bay leaf, garlic powder...let it sit over night and cook the next day. greatest tasting thing ever. Taste like the cow ate shirmp before it died...wonderful.

Oh and no steak sauce.

Rare without a doubt.

When I was on holiday last year I had Chateaubriand for the frist time. Honestly one of the nicest things I have ever eaten.

With that marinade, you don't need Steak Sauce. I'm going to second Curry's doing that thing you do the next time I have a steak.

In the context of a sandwich or a fajita? Absolutely.

The past two steaks I have gotten at restaurants were not rare how I ordered them. One was medium, and the other was closer to medium-well. For my own tastes, a steak gets too tough at medium, and I prefer it rare. However, I didn't send them back due to figuring that I would get a steak that had all sorts of surprises added just for me. What do you do when you get a steak that isn't ordered to your specification? On one side, you are paying a good price for your dinner, and on the otherhand, you might eat more fecal matter than usual.

I liked a TSMer's assessment of how bitchy and retarded those in food service can be. "This guy is an asshole, so I'll piss in his chest during open heart surgery."

I've recently decided to become a vegetarian. I think that steak is going to be the hardest food to say "fare thee well" to.

If you give up meat, you'll fall off to noth- nevermind.

You're skinny as hell, dude. If anyone needs to fatten themselves up with some kind of protein, it's you. Good luck with being a vegetarian, though.

Give me a steak medium well.

Also what cut do you prefer? I am partial to the t-bone because I like the flavor and juiciness that the bone provides. I just wish they didn't cost as much.
