Man. This is the stuff that you remember the rest of your life right here. I have memories of wrestling some 24 years old and Ric Flair has always been there. That was one fuck of a send off. I would have loved for some video from TNA guys though, like Sting or well....Sting. But hey. maybe thats whats coming after the show.

Fucking awesome. Having Edge, the biggest heel in the company, leading the rest of the locker room out to thank Flair was great. Best Raw in ages (and not just because of Flair).

I was curious about that myself, but I'm guessing (hoping) that Vince wanted this to be about Ric, and having the big boss come out would detract from Ric. Hopefully he was right behind the curtain waiting for Flair though.

I can't believe this is really it. I got flashbacks during this farewell of me watching Flair way back in the early and mid 80's on TBS. I grew up watching this guy.

Well the story was that Vince put the Stipulation being that Flairs next loss would his last match so having him come out, I guess would make it look bad as the crowd would just tear about Vince so good thing he stayed backstage.

I'm not ashamed to admit, that after Triple H came out and Flair started crying, I pretty much bawled like a baby throughout the entire thing. That was the greatest and most emotional segment in the history of wrestling.

Not much I can add to this that hasn't been said but jesus christ that was powerful stuff. I first saw flair wrestle in 1984 and have been a flair mark ever since and it just seems surreal that we now have an industry without ric flair wrestling nor will we ever have again. It's really hard to believe.

 

It is so awesome to see the wrestlers break character and pay respects when it's deserved. The wrestlers chanting thank you ric with the crowd was just fucking incredible. You won't ever see something like that again I don't think.

Hell of a sendoff for Flair. Let's just hope that he never, ever steps foot inside a ring in any sort of wrestling capacity ever again. I mean, with all due respect, this should have happened ten years ago. But God bless Vince McMahon for buying up the entirety of wrestling's past and making something like this possible. I couldn't give a shit less about wrestling at this point, but I watched this.

The Hammer looks like he can still go.

This is a couple of pages back, but I saw him live relatively recently at the Hogan/Show event in Memphis. He had a pretty decent match with Mr. Hughes. Valentine moved at half speed, but he worked pretty stiff, took quite a few bumps, and did all his spots. That's about all you can ask from someone his age.

 

Also, kudos to the WWE for doing something classy for once.

I thought of Favre during Flair's segment, and thought of how much more satisfying his retirement press conference would have been if it had been done in "This Is Your Life" format. Like...here's Sterling Sharpe! Here's Mike Holmgren! Remember Reggie White? Here's a lawyer representing his widow!
