Gary Floyd Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 Here. I always loved "Soylent Green" and "Planet of the Apes", and "A Touch of Evil" is one of my all time faves. RIP man.
Dandy Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 If anyone can find the SNL skit where he was the stockboy working for Phil Hartman at the supermarket, I'd greatly appreciate it. RIP Chuck.
Craig Th Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 I caught the end of Planet of the Apes the other day and I was thinking to myself how much longer he's going to be around. I guess it wasn't that long.
King Kamala Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 RIP Charlton. Hopefully you don't come across any of those damn dirty apes in heaven
Darthtiki Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 I'm sure that my Grandfather was there to greet him in heaven. RIP.
2GOLD Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 I'll always remember him as the gas station attendant in Wayne's World 2 that made Wayne cry as he was looking for the church on Gordon Street. I'll fire off a shotgun in his honor later Thanks Chuck!
Maztinho Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 LET MY PEOPLE GO! Go on you Gun Loving Bastard.
Coffin Surfer Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 I like Civil Rights and I like Guns and he stood up for both when they weren't fashionable, I don't understand the hate this man has recieved in recent times. He had balls to spare even if you can't always agree with him. Ben Hur, Ten Commadments, Omega Man, and Planet of the Apes are still fun badass movies. The Wayne's World 2 cameo was great as mentioned, probably the only good thing in the movie outside of Walken actually.
luke-o Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 I'll always remember him as the gas station attendant in Wayne's World 2 that made Wayne cry as he was looking for the church on Gordon Street. Best role ever.
dubq Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 Did anyone ever see him in Kenneth Branagh's version of Hamlet as the Player King. IMO, he easily stole the entire movie with his performance in that one. Man this calls for a marathon! Looks like Soylent Green, Planet of the Apes & Omega Man are on tap for tonight!
cabbageboy Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 It is funny but I couldn't stop thinking about that Wayne's World cameo either. The same year he also had a brief role in Tombstone as well. RIP
SuperJerk Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 Planet of the Apes and the Omega Man are two of my favorite movies. Ben Hur and The Ten Commandments are two of the most popular movies of all time. Movie legends don't get much bigger than Charlton Heston.
Guest Smues Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 RIP. The original Planet of the Apes is one of my favorite movies, and I love that whole series. YOU MANIACS, YOU BLEW IT UP!
Ginger Snaps Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 Touch of Evil is one of my favorite films. RIP.
Anakin Flair Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 Did they pry his gun from his cold, dead hand? Oh, come on. Someone had to say it. RIP. Always loved Ten Commandments (watch is every year around Passover).
Maztinho Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 Did they pry his gun from his cold, dead hand? Oh, come on. Someone had to say it. RIP. Always loved Ten Commandments (watch is every year around Passover). 4th post in. And really you don't get any bigger than Charlton Heston as an actor. Marlon Brando, maybe, but the guy was epic in the truest sense of the word.
Lil' Bitch Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 The tough bastard lived a long, good life. RIP Charlton.
treble Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 I'm surprised he lasted this long. He looked like he could go any day when they were bugging him in Bowling for Columbine.
Firestarter Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 Did they pry his gun from his cold, dead hand? Oh, come on. Someone had to say it. Beat y'all to it. RIP, Charlton Heston. I hope they bury him with his favorite gun so the fucking Democrats can't even take it from his cold dead hands. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> - link
King Kamala Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 RIP. The original Planet of the Apes is one of my favorite movies, and I love that whole series. YOU MANIACS, YOU BLEW IT UP! Ditto...except for Battle For The Planet of The Apes that shit sucked. THIS PLACE IS A MADHOUSE! A MADHOOOOOOUUUUUUUSE!

godthedog Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 his brownface out-of-placeness gets justifiably shit on in 'touch of evil', but he was really good in that role, exploring the darker side to that strong moral self-righteousness that defined his on-screen persona. he was a fucking animal in that barfight, beating the shit out of the local mexicans and screaming "WHERE'S MY WIFE??!!?" awesome stuff. fuck, i need to watch that movie again.
PILLS! PILLS! PILLS! Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 I'm loving all of the, uh... love for Touch of Evil.
