Jingus 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2008 I laughed more at Superbad than any other movie mentioned anywhere in this thread. Comedy = incredibly subjective.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2008 He's as funny as Chevy Chase. ...is now. However, he is the most funny recent SNL alumnus. That doesn't mean dick, though.
ForumPro 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2008 WILL FARRELL IS HA-LARIOUS!!!! Remember when he was in that elf movie?? It was great! My favorite Will Farrell movie, in a lot of respects, would probably have to be ''Anchor Man'' because it was a classic and heartfelt send-up of the news in the 1970s San Diego scene. it's the kind of movie I can quote all day all night with my friends, and one of the most fascinating nuances and aspects of the movie is that it transcends typical lines! It's the kind of movie that everyone can love, whether you're a "whinin' cheese" looooser or a computer kid like me or a star JV quarter back and his buds or even if you're black! I'm always on the lookout for more Will Farrell. I wonder where he got his start.

CBright7831 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2008 I heard Will Ferrell is the kind of celebrity who doesn't appreciate his fans. If that's true, seriously fuck him! I thought he was outstanding in Stranger than Fiction and I actually like it when he tries to do something different. STF is one of his best films IMO. You tell him Douchebag! I've heard he's become a dick since he left SNL and doesn't sign as much. He was nice when he was on SNL though This would be true as he did top the list of 2007 Most Reluctant Autograph Givers List: Most Reluctant: 01. Will Ferrell 02. Tobey Maguire 03. Joaquin Phoenix 04. William Shatner 05. Renee Zellweger 06. John Malkovich 07. Julie Andrews 08. Bruce Willis 09. Teri Hatcher 10. Scarlett Johansson Most Willing: 01. Johnny Depp 02. Matt Damon 03. George Clooney 04. Jack Nicholson 05. Rosario Dawson 06. John Travolta 07. Katherine Heigl 08. Jay Leno 09. Dakota Fanning 10. Russell Crowe "What's so frustrating about Will Ferrell being the worst autograph signer this past year is that he used to be so nice to fans and collectors, and a great signer. What makes him so bad is that he'll taunt people asking for his autograph." As for Will - I cant stand anything past Anchorman and even that got annoying as hell to me after watching it a few times. The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2008 Those lists are so backwards from what you'd think. Captain Kirk won't sign for me...but Johnny Depp and Mr. Hollywood George Clooney are all about it. And two questions: 1. Who the hell is asking Julie Andrews for autographs? 2. Where does that cunt get off saying no? Be happy they even recognize you. Jack f'n Nicholson is signing! Who they fuck do you think you are?
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2008 I'm just surprised Depp is topping the list. You'd think his attitude towards America would make him all the more reluctant to sign for anyone.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2008 I guess I'm not that surprised by Depp. He never seemed to take his fame to seriously...it's the acting that he likes. I've heard he spends a lot of time visiting sick kids dressed as Captain Jack.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2008 If that's true, that makes me respect Depp all the more. For a while there I was sort of bummed about his comments about America, but this is really cool of him to visit sick kids as Jack Sparrow.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2008 To be fair...that may all be in France since that's where he lives.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2008 He spends a lot of time in America though. You'd think SOMEONE would ask for an autograph then. They wouldn't rank him #1 if Americans send in bad reports about him.
Epic Reine 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2008 Old School and Anchorman were hilarious, everything else he has done hasn't impressed me much. I recently saw Blades of Glory and was very dissapointed with it and I'm hearing bad things about Semi-Pro. The guy is repetitive no doubt, but he definatley had his fair share of funny moments. bob_barron 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2008 I'm just surprised Depp is topping the list. You'd think his attitude towards America would make him all the more reluctant to sign for anyone. Johnny Depp is incredibly nice. I once saw him at David Letterman, there were tons of people there, and he signed for as many people as he possibly could. I don't agree with Renee Zellweger being on that bad signer list. I've met her a few times, and she's always been nothing but cordial and willing to sign for everyone there. Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2008 See, for me, I don't understand the concept of autographs. I've met a shitload of celebrities, but I don't have the slightest desire to get their autograph. Picture with them occasionally, if somebody happens to have a camera handy, but that's all. So, were I famous, and god willing, someday I will be, I wouldn't be a very autograph friendly celeb, just cause I'm not into it. I don't think that makes me a dick. The only exceptions to this are when they ask "Who do I make it out to?" and I can answer "eBay." and when I sometimes have them personalize it "Dave, you are gay." and then sign their name. Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2008 Click was fucking awesome. It wasn't a awesome comedy because there was ALOT of drama in there, but as a movie, it was pretty fucking good.

notJames 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2008 I didn't hate Will Farrell until a friend of mine convinced me to watch Anchoman. It was so awful, I swore off Farrell (and my friend) for a long time. What an awful waste of time that was. Nothing but lame catchphrases, one-liners and ad-libbing that didn't go anywhere. It even made me hate Steve Carell for a while. But as others pointed out, Farrell is decent when he's subdued or relegated to a bit part. Stranger Than Fiction, Winter Passing, even Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back were all good-to-great turns for him. I will probably never see any of his other films like Blades of Glory or Talladega Nights, so I have no need to actively hate him or anything.

The Niggardly King 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2008 Fuck you guys, Click ruled, I usually like to get stoned and watch Adam Sandler say goodbye to Da Fonze... heartwarming and I cry on that part a lot
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2008 Click was terrible. I'm still befuddled at the amount of people I've met who enjoyed it. It was one half watered down Adam Sandler comedy and one half overly maudlin Frank Capra homage. I will say that the latter was done better than the former but that's not saying much. The Niggardly King 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2008 I actually had about a half-hour internal dialogue on why Adam Sandler could end getting a couple of Oscar nods even before Jim Carrey during the film. And the I marked out for Walken and Da Fonze and thought about how hot Kate Beckingsale is in the movie.

Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted April 15, 2008 Never seen Click. Doubt I ever will, since I'm on strike against Adam Sandler and M Night Shyamalan (spelled right? Who gives a fuck. Stupid name.) I will never intentionally watch a new movie involving either of them. I did kind of like Punch Drunk Love, but I would've liked it more with just about anyone else in the starring role.
PUT THAT DICK IN MY MOUTH! 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 I'm not sure if Punch-Drunk Love would have worked as well with someone else playing that role since the whole thing was kind of based around subverting/interrogating Sandler's whole over-aggressive manchild persona.
