USC Wuz Robbed! Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 Hey I'm just shocked the NBA hasn't tried to force a league wide retirement on #23 over what Jordan brought to the NBA over the years.
Cartman Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 I hate watching the Sox try to hit Paul Byrd. Ugh.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 16, 2008 Author Report Posted April 16, 2008 I never want to go to another dollar dog night again. It's tough to enjoy a game with your father when college students around you seem to casually drop the f-bomb every 30 seconds or so. It's disgraceful. I left after the eighth inning because I simply could no longer tolerate the atmosphere.
Bruiser Chong Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 I didn't see the game, but Alfonso Soriano left in the first with a strained calf. Some are suggesting it happened doing that stupid little hop he does before catching a flyball.

Red Baron Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 Probably, yeah, but at least Gretzky has the distinction of shattering almost every possible record to smithereens. I always found it almost arrogant that he even chose to wear 99 in the first place. Â The most retarded number retirement was the Miami Heat retiring Jordan's 23 on a split Bulls/Wizards jersey. That's a big ball of head-scratchers right there. Â Â He didn't. His junior coach from the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhouds offered the number to him since a teammate wore number 9. At the time of the seventies, double numbers were the new thing, as Phil Esposito wore 77 and even John Davidson wore 00 for the Rangers. Since he liked 9, he wore 99. After that the rest is history. Â Anyways, back to baseball. Â Jays routed the O's, 11-3. Jays offence clicking, or Baltimore falling back to reality?

Some are suggesting it happened doing that stupid little hop he does before catching a flyball. No, he hurt his ankle yesterday shooting hoops or something. Â Jays routed the O's, 11-3. Jays offence clicking, or Baltimore falling back to reality? Why not both?
sfaJack Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 It sure hasn't taken long for Astro fans to want Jose Valverde drawn and quartered.
CanadianChris Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 Jays routed the O's, 11-3. Jays offence clicking, or Baltimore falling back to reality? It's easy for an offence to click when they're facing Steve Trachsel. Â The Jays are on the right track. They haven't been blown out of a game yet. They've had some bad luck to only be 8-6, frankly.
Guest Soriano's Torn Quad II Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 Fuckin' Alfonso Gramatica here needs an MRI now.
snuffbox Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 Thanks for signing Jeff Weaver, Milwaukee!
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 16, 2008 Author Report Posted April 16, 2008 Thanks for signing Jeff Weaver, Milwaukee! I assume he's the batting practice pitcher?
snuffbox Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 Minor league deal with a possible June call-up. If that happens he'll get at least a million dollars (as much as 4 with incentives he has no chance of reaching no matter what they are).
snuffbox Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 Followed by 5 home runs given up in a game, another losing record, and a monster era.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 16, 2008 Author Report Posted April 16, 2008 I assume the incentives have something to do with innings pitched. Throwing in a Cy Young clause is possible, but beyond pointless.
Guest Teal-y Dan Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 Well, if they're squeezing great hitting out of a guy who just spent a year managing, I don't see hwo Jeff Weaver can be any worse than Dave Bush.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 16, 2008 Author Report Posted April 16, 2008 Michael Bourn's playing hurt and he still stole second. On a pitchout.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 16, 2008 Author Report Posted April 16, 2008 A Mets' fan died at Shea Stadium yesterday falling from an escalator. Isn't a bit early in the season for suicide? At least give them til June.
Bruiser Chong Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Moises Alou, on the other hand, would've insisted another fan obstructed him from making the catch.
Guest Teal-y Dan Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 And then, five years later, insisted that there was nothing he could have done about the fan.
devo Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Yeah, Josh Fogg was a good signing. Â Edit: And C.C. Sabathia is just getting shelled tonight. He's been terrible so far. The Indians might not have to worry about coming up with the scratch to sign him if this keeps up.
Vampiro69 Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Miggy so far is 3-3 with 2 runs and 5 RBIs.
Guest Teal-y Dan Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Man, Josh Fogg pitched in a fuckin' World Series. The world is an unjust place.
Bruiser Chong Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 I'd imagine Sabathia's hurt. This is the second consecutive outing where I wondered who the hell was getting shelled and come to find out that it's C.C.
Guest Teal-y Dan Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Is the Yankees/Sox game over yet? Presuming both games started at 7.05 EDT, the White Sox and O's are in the top of the 8th, with the Red Sox and Yankees in the top of the 5th. ARE YOUSE TRYIN MAKE THIS PERSONAL WITH ME?
devo Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 On the plus side, Red Sox/Yanks is actually an engaging back-and-forth game tonight.

How is it even possible for a game to go that slowly?
Bruiser Chong Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Between the Sox/Yanks, Tigers/Indians, and Cubs/Reds, there's some AWFUL pitching going on tonight.
