PUT THAT DICK IN MY MOUTH! 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 Joe Johnson is unconscious right now. Holy shit.
bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 This Hawks game is amazing, the energy they are showing along with the fans... but I've seen Ripper rip on Mike Woodson SO OFTEN that I'm half expecting them to choke it away even though I never even watched the Hawks at all this season. Josh Smith and Joe Johnson have been pretty sick down the stretch.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 The Celtics have nobody to blame for firing this team of guys up but themselves. All that shit talk at the end of game 2 pissed these kids off. They got over the whole "we need to look respectable agains them" and got to, Fuck these guys we are giong to kick the shit out them.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 Mike Woodson has been doing things in the last two games he hasn't done all year. Using his bench at the right moments, making adjustments when the other team adjust, going to plays that (gasp) actually work, and FINALLY getting out and running at every chance they get instead of telling them to pull it up. But honestly, I couldn't give a shit if they win the SERIES, I still want him fired because he is REALLY a awful coach. Proof positive, he is going to have bad free throw shooters on the court out of this timeout....and he did.
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 Wade lost his explosiveness because of his crash-bang style of play... you know, think of that commercial of him getting knocked on his ass all the time. He got hurt, he tried to play through it, got hurt more, finally was forced to shut down. He can't play balls-out crash-and-burn, because his career is going to be very very short. USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 Why did Woodson call the time? Just run the time out, dude.
randomguy 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 That was one of the best individual late-game performances I've ever seen. Joe Johnson was unreal. They should have quadruple-teamed him or something. At some points he had 3 guys on him and still scored.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 So, I think anyone who thought Boston or Detroit was going to challenge the Western Conference winner might need to rethink that idea because neither team has been impressive. It's almost feels like we're going to end up seeing the LeBrons get swept again. Ugh.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 We'll see in the next game if the Hawks can win in Boston, if they can't then the Celtics should win but FUCK it shouldn't be this god damn close.
PUT THAT DICK IN MY MOUTH! 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 Who would've thought that the East would be the place for exciting playoff basketball this year.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 Hard to believe it's been less than a week since we were wondering whether they'd even have to go back to Boston. Now we're wondering if they'll have to go back to Boston twice.

It's almost feels like we're going to end up seeing the LeBrons get swept again. Ugh. If they make the Finals i still think it will be competitive. i think a lot of what you see is the top teams not having enough respect for their opposition and just getting shellshocked by the energy of the lower seeds. Guest I swallowed a Q-Tip. Report post Posted April 29, 2008 I expected this from the Pistons, maybe, a little, but the Celtics? This makes me happy, after Boon or whoever was like "just another Boston team running up the score." Fuck you. So wait, Pat Riley retired again?
KingPK 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 It's more like the Celtics haven't faced ANY sort of pressure whatsoever and that has hid the fact that Doc Rivers is a terrible head coach when the shit does hit the fan. Doesn't help that the bench did jack shit in both games.
teke184 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 Heh... I fall asleep and the next thing I know, Orlando became the first team to advance and Boston's got a goddamn tie in their series. The chances of Orlando or Cleveland coming out of the East just got a lot higher tonight, as the Pistons keep dicking around with the 6ers and the Celtics are playing WAY below where they should be. bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 there's also a style clash, philly and atlanta have been successful by using their young legs and running. Pistons won game 4 by re-establishing the pace as a half-court game.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 Yeah how odd is it that the 3/6 and the 4/5 series might end faster than the 1/8 and 2/7 series would?
KingPK 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 (edited) And who the fuck scheduled these games anyway? There's been two damn days between each game in the Celtics/Hawks series. No wonder the NBA playoffs take 4 months. Edited April 29, 2008 by KingPK
Guest I swallowed a Q-Tip. Report post Posted April 29, 2008 I'm watching the Lakers and Nuggets game, which might be the first NBA game I've watched since a Saturday night Bulls game back in February. Yeah, def. February, because I saw none of the Larry Hughes iteration of the Bulls. Patrick Kane and Ben Wallace made this one of my lesser basketball-watching winters. Mr. S£im Citrus 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 Heh; Atlanta winning two against Boston has got to be about the worst-case scenario for Ripper; they might fuck around and re-sign Woodson now...
Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 I said in the start I thought it would be a 6 game series. Hopefully that won't make them resign that moron.
PUT THAT DICK IN MY MOUTH! 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 JR Smith is sweet as hell and I'm sad that this is probably the last time I'll get to see him play for like 7 months

Mr. S£im Citrus 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 I tell you what: if you'd have bet me before the start of the playoffs that the Hawks would outlast the Nuggets, that would have been easy money on your part... http://www.sports790.com/cc-common/mlib/58..._1209355170.bmp

Fökai 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 So, I think anyone who thought Boston or Detroit was going to challenge the Western Conference winner might need to rethink that idea because neither team has been impressive. It's almost feels like we're going to end up seeing the LeBrons get swept again. Ugh. The only non-competitive series of the playoffs so far involved one of the most embarrassing defensive performances I've ever seen. All of the other series are "great" teams gaining the edge on "good" teams, or great teams underestimating lower seeds. The level of competition in the league is this good. Boon 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 Joe Johnson was unstoppable. He made the best defensive team in the NBA look like assholes in the fourth. Hats off. Celtics couldn't hit their free-throws, got out ran and out rebounded down the stretch. Just simply outplayed. The Celtics have nobody to blame for firing this team of guys up but themselves. All that shit talk at the end of game 2 pissed these kids off. They got over the whole "we need to look respectable agains them" and got to, Fuck these guys we are giong to kick the shit out them. Please. You act like the Hawks have been upstanding citizens through the first four games. It's been a chippy series. Both teams have been mouthing off to each other and playing extremely physical basketball. The Hawks aren't this young, cute little baby-faced group of angels trying to beat the nasty, big bad wolf. They've been arrogant pricks, just like the Celtics. Get off it. I'm watching the Lakers and Nuggets game, which might be the first NBA game I've watched since a Saturday night Bulls game back in February. Yeah, def. February, because I saw none of the Larry Hughes iteration of the Bulls. Patrick Kane and Ben Wallace made this one of my lesser basketball-watching winters. It shows.
