CBright7831 Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 I'll probably go see Speed Racer because John Goodman is playing Pops Racer. Not to mention Matthew Fox looks cool as Racer X.
Atticus Chaos Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 Hooray! Gwyneth Paltrow has her career back!
Boner Kawanger Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 I think Speed Racer looks good and deep down, I feel like it has the potential to be something great. However, most people I know are really hesitant to see it because they don't take either Speed Racer or the Watchowskis seriously after The Matrix Sequels. I wouldn't be surprised if Iron Man was #1 again next week thanks to all the positive word of mouth it is garnering.
Craig Th Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 Yeah, mine too. I don't think I could handle it in the theater.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 I'll probably go see Speed Racer because John Goodman is playing Pops Racer. Not to mention Matthew Fox looks cool as Racer X. That has got to be the worst reason ever to see a movie. "JOHN GOODMAN IS IN IT!"
CBright7831 Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 I'm a Goodman mark. I cant help it. Plus its excellent casting.
NYU Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 Am I the only one surprised at how badly Harold and Kumar has actually done? The first one really did have a big cult following among the 18-36 crowd, so I'm shocked it's only made $25 million through two weekends. All jokes aside about stoners not paying to see movies, yada yada, I definitely thought this would have no problem surpassing the $50 million gross mark, which it's not likely to do now.
bob_barron Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 Given that the original only made 18 million, and it was being dumped in late April, it really had no chance at making $50 million. I'm sure the studio was hoping for $40 million, which means a nice profit, given that it cost nothing to make. Speedracer is tracking in the mid-30s, so I think Iron Man will remain on top.
Lord of The Curry Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 H & K will recoup pretty much anything missed on DVD methinks.
Damaramu Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 Speed Racer looks good, but I just can't stand the kid that plays Speed Racer. I hope he's not as irritating in this as I've found him to be in other movies.
Agent_Bond34 Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 Ironman deserved every penny. Loved it Agreed. Great movie.
