Smartly Pretty 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2008 Agent, Curtis Martin is the most underrated running back pretty much ever. 14,101 yards is good enough for 4th all time. Think about that, only three running backs in the history of the nfl rushed for more yards than Curtis Martin.

Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted July 23, 2008 Oh, I'm not denying Curtis Martin was incredibly productive, I just think Sayers was way more talented. Considering this is a game of picking players in their primes (basically), I'd take Gale Sayers over Curtis Martin ten times out of ten, but that's just me. I feel the same way about Warren Moon. That was a guy I was actually kind of hoping for, and I'm not taking a QB until my very last pick.

CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2008 OK, I'll pick...my kick returner: Billy "White Shoes" Johnson, KR/PR Image specifically chosen because that is all the kicking team will see of him. He also makes a good backup WR if needed. Return Touchdowns 8 PR yards 3,317 KR yards 2,941 3x Pro Bowl selection (1975, 1977, 1983) 3x All-Pro selection (1975, 1977, 1983) NFL 75th Anniversary All-Time Team NFL 1980s All-Decade Team 1983 NFL Comeback Player of the Year 1975 Pro Bowl MVP

CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2008 It was looking as though there might be a run on them, so I figured I'd better grab the guy on top of my list. Perfect example of prime over longevity. There were two others I was considering that are still available.
Guest Report post Posted July 23, 2008 I'm going to pick my tight end right now, so all I've gotta do is fill out my offensive line and defense. I don't know how many rounds we're going though. Keith Jackson is my tight end. * 5x Pro Bowl selection (1988, 1989, 1990, 1992, 1996) * 5x All-Pro selection (1988, 1989, 1990, 1992, 1996)

Broward83 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2008 I still can't believe how high Warren Moon went and how many guys he went ahead of. I'm an Oilers fan and grew up watching Warren Moon play in the Astrodome? I'm picking based on who I either liked growing up.. like watching now or trying to pick a player or two that was good in their decade.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted July 24, 2008 While I had my eye on a couple other very special offensive players who will probably get picked by the time it gets back around to me, I decided to take.. C Tom Nalen 6'3", 286 lbs. * Pro Bowl (x5) * Super Bowl Ring (x2) Nalen, the only Bronco still on the team from the Super Bowl years, is perfect for the lightweight, zone blocking scheme I want to put in to place for my offensive line. I'm not looking for any 300+ pounders. With Marshall Faulk and several other fast guys on my team, it would be a damn near crime to have a beefed up o-line. Nalen, as the anchor for the Broncos over the past decade, has led six different running backs to 1,000 yard seasons, while helping Terrell Davis to a 2,000 yard season, which speaks more about Denver's offensive line than it does about Davis, in my opinion. I honestly believe Nalen should get into the HOF at some point, although he won't be a first or even second ballot kind of guy.
Just John 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2008 I'm looking at the positions I have open, and I don't really see anything jumping out as a "must take now" pick, so I'm going to make the first pick at a new position with a guy who I know would end up on someone's team before this thing is over. Adam Vinatieri - K 2x Pro Bowl 2x All Pro 4x SB champ (game winning kicks in 2 of them) I know the word "clutch" is thrown around a lot by the media or fans, but this guy's the real deal. He's made a ton of high pressure kicks to win playoff games, super bowls, and he generally doesn't miss much any other time. I don't think I'd want anyone else taking a last second kick for the win. Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted July 25, 2008 I need blocking, and I need scoring. Better get a good TE. I'll go with Ben Coates. Quiet great career, there. Five time pro-bowler, set a record for receptions in a season that held for 10 years. Big fella, too. 6'5" 250ish. Guy scored 50 TDs, almost all from Drew Bledsoe, which makes them a really surprising all-time scoring tandem, Correct me if I'm wrong, but they're third all time behind Young to Rice and Manning to Harrison. Now, I wouldn't pick Drew Bledsoe if there were fifty guys playing this thing, but that kind of scoring consistency, hands, blocking, and reliability is just what I need here. Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted July 25, 2008 I was surprised VX didn't take him, actually. He snaked my center instead. I can live with that, though.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2008 Ah... Ben Coates. I grew up with the Bledsoe/Coates connection and am surprised he "fell" in terms of tight ends. He was right there with Tony G and Sharpe as the pre-cursor to the modern day prototypical receiving tight ends.
MFer 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2008 VX also jacked my center but that's OK...I'll figure something out. In the meantime, I need to make sure I get my other safety. There's 1 or 2 older guys still out there that I was targeting earlier (Cherry was another one that just went off the board), but I need another beast on my defense. More specifically, I need a MEAST! Sean Taylor 2x Pro Bowl selection (2006, 2007*) All-Pro selection (2007*) *Posthumous selection Dude's basically the size of a LB, but has plenty of speed to cover ground. It's unfortunate what happened to him last year. cuz he was having the best season of his career and one of the best in the entire league. Taylor's not quite as accomplished in terms of awards as the other modern safeties that were taken before him, but he's right there with them statistically (43 passes defended for example), and when I look back at clips of him playing, I know that's a guy who's gonna knock some heads and make some plays out there. HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2008 RILB Chad Brown A bit of a surprise pick perhaps, but has had a really solid little career that may be overlooked by many. At his peak, he was good for 7-9 sacks a season. Started his career out under Cowher at Pittsburgh and had 30 sacks in 4 seasons (including 13 in 1996). Also has ideal size at linebacker for the 3-4 defense and can pick the ball off at times (6 career INT). At 245 pounds he could also play down at DE in a 4-3 when pressed upon.
