I can recommend someone that has any PRIDE PPV or UFC PPV (ANY) plus anything that has been on TV that sells bootleg DVDs for I think 4 bucks a pop. Good dude to deal with fast turnaround time, etc. If you would like I could PM you the dudes addy or just post it here (i'm not sure about the rules on shilling here...).

Wes fucking Sims is your MMA awesome dude of the moment for throwing a dropkick in his WEC Ryan Bennett tribute show because it was something Ryan had always wanted to see him do.

And he somehow also wins with a triangle. SIMS.

For some reason though, I don't think those dudes at DVDVR are joking. They all mostly believe that Lindland could beat Franklin...and the whole board jumped my ass one time and called me a moron because I said Sean Sherk would be better at 155 because he was a small 170. They said he was too big and couldn't make 155 lol.

lol, I've rolled with Lautaro, and was sad to hear about what happened to him.

He trained BJJ for this fight with one of the blue belts from the school, in the guy's basement. I guess the training there didn't help him learn how to protect himself when going for a flying knee.

He's short, but also has a very stocky build with lots of muscle, and already is cutting some weight to get to 170, plus has no track record at that level. And then you have to take into consideration that he's already near top-five at 170 for the UFC, and you can't make the assumption that easily.

I finally re-got Enae Volare Mezzo, thanks to Paragon for tipping me off about the name in this thread ...I think this is the first theme song where I was spellbound when I heard it back when Fedor fought Mirko. My first reaction was: "This is the theme of a god", and...I think it still holds up.

There are pro-wrestling and MMA theme songs, but then there is this. This song almost feels like it belongs to a religious experience.

I like a lot of the PRIDE music. Like the music they play during the various opening ceremonies in 2005 and the music they play when someone wins....all make me feel like doing something heroic....I hear those and I'm like "yeah I can do anything! I can fight Fedor!" then I see Fedor coming to the ring and I hide behind my couch in hopes that he didn't hear me.

Fedor is a gentle, kind man. He is a warrior who fights for purpose, not for spite. You need not live in fear...

Heh. This is funny mainly because i've been reading alot about Alexander the Great, and how in Greco-Roman (I guess Macedonian?) antiquity, Homosexuality wasn't thought of as it is today. Some believe sex among warriors was encouraged because they felt it heightened spirits on the battlefield. It was also common practice for an older, experienced warrior to have a younger warrior to take under his wing. Some believe this was simply a case of education some believe sex some believe both.

Sorry, just found that very interesting.

My PRIDE collection continues to grow.

I put a halt on UFC because I've seen nearly all the UFCs that are out now(through Unleashes, owning them, and renting them) so I can concnetrate on PRIDE.

Today I bought Body Blow and Bushido Vol. 1.

What exactly is the Bushido anyway?

My PRIDE DVD collection stands at: Body Blow, Bushido 1, Critical Countdown and Total Elimination 05, Shockwave 05, Armed and Ready(PRIDE 20), Fists of Fire, and High Octane. Any recommendations? I also borrowed my friends PRIDE Legacy vol. 3 which is PRIDE 12-18.

Is King of the Cage any good? I was thinking of buying some of the DVD sets.

And a rules question. In PRIDE if you were to be put in a rear naked choke or triangle near the ropes and were able to power to a standing position what would be the result of running the guy through or over the ropes sending you both tumbling out of the ring? A yellow card? DQ? Nothing?

Bushido was a show introduced by Pride to showcase their lighter weight fighters. They used to have a few heavyweight matches on there to draw, but the success of Bushido since the tournaments have allowed them to discontinue that.

Other recommendations: Pride 10: Return of the Warriors (Saku/Renzo, Shamrock/Fujita, Igor/Enson, Silva/Mezger, Yvel/Goodridge), Pride 19: Bad Blood (Newton/Pele, Shamrock/Frye, Nogueira/Enson), Total Elimination and Final Conflict from 2003 (LHW tournament including Silva, Rampage, Liddell, etc.; only bought through pridefc.com, Sherdog, and other online retailers; pretty pricey however)

I believe the rule if both fighters tumble out of the ring is to restart them standing; unless there is an injury in which case it goes to either the judge's score cards (if it's out of rd.1, IIRC) or is ruled a no contest. If another fighter intentionally throws another fighter out of the ring, it's grounds for disqualification. If a fighter intentionally crawls out of the ring (see: Herring vs. Fedor), he receives a yellow card.

Hope that helps.

No idea they were so close there.

You do realise that's a Photoshop mocked up on the Cagewarriors forum and then used in Fighters Only magazine's SPAM! back page, right? I mean, look at the torsos as they enter the water. It's cut like pinkerton scissors were used, the actual photo is from a shot taken earlier this year after Shogun had recovered from surgery.

You can get like 11 events on double sided discs of King of Cage shows for like 11 bucks. I have 2 seperate sets. Some entertaining stuff, some crap like most shows. Lots of early Joe Stevenson, Diego Sanchez among many others. I believe Jason Von Flue is on one of them...
