And people bitched about Montreal and UFC 78 being weak cards. The undercard of that show better be stacked because them mains ain't drawing shit in terms of PPV buys. UFC is putting a huge amount of faith in Lesnar, Kenny and El Sexican.

Cummo lost to Fiorvanti who's not horrible but not really good so I'd say Tamdan has a good shot in this.

Fiorvanti would beat Tamdan, so that logic doesn't really work IMO.

He did so via superior wrestling & ground control. McCrory hasn't really shown me anything impressive in terms of wrestling or jitz, so it's unlikely he'll win this bout on the mat like Luigi did.

Did anyone watch the last Inside MMA? The poll question was "Should the UFC allow a fight between Georges St. Pierre and Anderson Silva?"... The results were No - 72%, and Yes - 28%. Very suprising considering I figured most of the fans would want to see this fight. Not that I wouldn't have voted No as well.

Me personally, I think Anderson would dominate GSP, and KO him very easily. I'm still more interested to see Penn/GSP II anyway.

Sengoku 2 just ended...Some thoughts.

Not a bad show, but not a great show either. Production rivals or beats DREAM, but there was almost *NO ONE* in the crowd. Main eventing a big show with Jeff Monson = BAD IDEA. In fact, not having TV = BAD IDEA. Hopefully Yoshida's got some serious backers, because Sengoku looks like it's losing money faster then DREAM at this rate.

Speaking of which, that fight had intrigued me, as I thought Monson's grappling skills would give him a chance. His grappling abilities let him survive, but he never really posed a significant threat to Barnett. Barnett pretty much controlled him in every aspect, he just couldn't finish Monson.

Roger Gracie fucking murdered Yuki Kondo, and not in the usual way. He just...made him his bitch. Took him down, laid on top of him long enough for Yuki to realize "I CAN'T DO ANYTHING" and even started helplessly flail around before Roger nearly popped his head off with a rear naked choke. It's hard to gauge how good Roger is, but with a win over Ron Waterman (Not that it means much) and with his size and Gracie talent, he could be someone to watch out for.

Randleman/Kawamura looked okay...During intermission I had loaded up Oblivion and by that token paid no attention to the fight. Didn't LOOK bad.

Santiago/Matsuoka wasn't very good, but the finish was.

Korean dude versus Japanese dude wasn't bad, but wasn't good.

Satoru Kitaoka looked AWESOME in his fight in the opening match, easily submitting his opponent.

and that's all I remember.

UFC 87 (Lesnar/Coleman) is being called Seek and Destroy. Yikes. They're really getting desperate for names. Also, according to the MMAJunkie article the aforementioned fight is the actual main event. Double yikes.

Not sure if this has been mentioned in this thread(or anywhere else for that matter) but ESPN.com has the premiere episode of "MMA Live" available to watch on their website. Does anyone know if this is an online only show or this actually airs on ESPN, if so when?

Ok I got some more information on the show from bloodyelbow.com http://www.bloodyelbow.com/stories/4

I guess Dana White was trying to push for the show to be UFC-only, and if not he threatened to not allow UFC footage or any of their fighters to participate. Fucking D-White. You can go to espn.com or to the link above to watch the debut Webisode.

My gym is right down the street from Arco Arena where WEC is gonna be held on the 1st, I wonder if any fighters will be working out there any times next week leading up to the show. It is a huge brand new Cal Family Fitness facility......

I like The Athlete but after that sick triangle/head pounding that Maia put on one of my least favorite fighters I'm a huge fan.

Jason better hope to keep it standing for once...

Yeah, this card went from Suck to Stellar now that Coleman isn't around and GSP is throwin' down.

GSP/Fitch

Kongo/That Guy

MacDonald/Maia

Ken-Flo/Sexican

Lesnar/Some Dude

Not too shabby. I'm going with Justin McCully as Coleman's replacement.

I can't see that being the actual main events... I'm pretty sure they are going to throw Okami/Silva in there.

Brock is responsible for like the 4th highest buyrate in MMA history.... Granted he won't be quite the freakshow draw this time around.
