Jericho

Sure, it took half a season for the plot to really get going, but once it did, it really kicked ass. If I ever got to write a TV series, this is the type of show I would write. Still pissed it got cancled.

For my next pick I would like to welcome you to the Oswald Maximum Security Correctional Facility....

The show that introduced me to the HBO original series, and is still one of their best.

and because I must have at least one of the major animated programs, and with Simpsons, South Park and Futurama already taken I will take...

Family Guy

I love the show, people say it's gone downhill, but in the end it still make sme laugh and I can watch the episodes many times over.

The last 3 picks were all solid ones. Part of me wants to get mad for not getting them, but the other part is thankful that people here like good ass tv.

SHOCKED that Family Guy made it to Round 4 honestly.

Jericho. Started awesome, then went through a long lull, killer season 1 final. and solid second season

12 hours have passed

You can have SNL, you can have Chappelle, you and have Mr. Show, and the rarely hit but often miss Monty Python. I'll take Mark, Scott, Kevin, Bruce, and Dave

The Kids in the Hall 1988-1994

Sketches include

-Evan Sells Shoes

-The Cincinnati Kid

-Running Faggot

-Bruce McCulloch's Open Letter to the Guy Who Stole His Bike

-Bruce McCulloch's Open Letter to the People Who Saw The Guy Steal His Bike

-Simon's Put of Ultimate Darkness (featuring Man Servant Hecubus)

6 years of goodness, skits that made me laugh my ass off when SNL was hit and missing it all around the place. Thanks Canada.

I had other picks in mind, but I didn't think this one would sleep through the rest of round 4 and round 5

Sure it jumped the shark after the whole Carver plot line, but I still love this show. Makes for great session viewing on DVD. TV's equavilent of crack.

Okay... so... let me first say that I'm a big tough guy. I played football, I drink whisky, I've beaten a couple people up... I broke my nose one time.

So... now that you guys are hip to that.

Gilmore Girls

I've watched every episode of this show several times. I own the DVDs. I love it. The stories are great, the dialogue is bombastic at times, but I love that too. The characters are endearing in a myriad of ways, plus, the show is whimsical for days. I love whimsy. Uh... I don't know... I just love it.

Plus... these ladies are in it.

Unf.

I benched 320 pounds once, guys.

He's definitely been sniping the top of my board.

Going back to Family Guy, though, I think it really suffered from ridiculous overexposure. If you were to ask me what show I wanted to watch "right here, right now" it probably wouldn't crack the top 20, as I have seen them all about 20 times each between Fox/MyNetworkTV/Cartoon Network/TBS. But it is definitely something I would want on the island.

I had to think about this pick. In the end I decide that I wanted some more laughs on the island, and really this is an underrated comedy. It's been around for 12 seasons so far, and really is still consistently good. For an animated series, one thing I've always liked about it is it doesn't ever get too over the top cartoony. It seems that the writers have always wanted to write a sitcom, but have done so in animated form.

Plus, the episode where Bobby goes to women's self defense classes and starts kicking everyone in the balls is one I could watch forever.

"Bobby Hill, as you can see, I have no testicles."

"She's bluffing, finish her off!"

So. When you were thinking about these lists, was there like that one show where you know it probably remain unpicked for a while but even so, you still had to get it early just in case?

Yeah. So this one's one of mine.

Daria

By far one of my favorite animated shows of all time; if you were to take a list of the shows I enjoyed watching ten years ago and which of those shows I still enjoy watching now, the list would probably consist of just The Simpsons and this. Brilliantly acerbic and witty and another show that even when it started faltering in the last two seasons it was still miles ahead of nearly every other animated series of its time (and the ones it weren't ahead of have pretty much all been picked by now anyway); I rewatched one of the second season episodes just last Friday and it was every bit as funny as I remember it being, and seeing as I can't watch shows like All That or Kenan and Kel without cringing these days, that's an achievement for sure.

As it stands now, I'd most like to party on Gosunkugi's island, although Milky, Black Flagg, and treble all remain competitive.

I was figuring I could have snagged Daria in the latter rounds.
