2GOLD 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2008 Colt vs the Colts is about to begin. I didn't even know Quinn Gray and D. Rhodes were on the Colts.
Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted August 4, 2008 I'm glad to have Rhodes back in Indy. Guy is a capable backup. Given that they have four QBs on the roster now, and only one's going to play, they should shop some of these bench guys at RB and QB around a bit, see if they can get some depth at linebacker. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2008 Well, that was actually a pretty impressive drive by Colt. Walked the field for a touchdown, showed good touch and good mobility in the pocket. Still need to see how he reacts to a blitz but that wasn't too bad against the Colt back-ups. Other than the good touch, meaningless but hey, touchdown drive to start your career even in pre-season ain't too shabby. On the one drive, he managed to throw more yards than Collins and Campbell. HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2008 Colt goes 4/4 for 68 yards with a couple sweet throws in there (also taking a sack but moving up in the pocket to take it...). My man crush grows larger.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2008 Is Malcom Kelly not playing?
MFer 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2008 Mike Hart looked pretty good out there as well. He may get caught up in the numbers game in Indy, but I think he should be able to find a spot on someone's roster.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2008 Even in college Hart had that NFL "grind it out & run over somebody doing it" mentality despite looking slow. I'm still surprised he fell to the 6th (expected a 4th at latest). Same with Brennan simply because he was so frickin' accurate over his career, which should not be overlooked (offensive system or not).
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2008 After reading an article I've discovered that Malcom Kelly's hamstring knotted up and he was considered doubtful. Damn, I was excited to see him play.

WCS 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2008 Both teams played well last night. As meaningless as preseason is, both coaches had to feel pretty good about their teams.

WCS 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2008 After reading an article I've discovered that Malcom Kelly's hamstring knotted up and he was considered doubtful. Damn, I was excited to see him play. He also just had a knee scoped, but should be back by the last two preseason games. Link Rookie wide receiver Malcolm Kelly underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Monday to remove loose particles in his left knee. Kelly, who team sources expect to miss about two weeks, had the surgery at the Andrews Institute in Gulf Breeze, Fla. Kelly, who was taken by the Redskins with the 51st pick in the second round of the April draft, had been dealing with a hamstring injury and, in recovering from that, began to feel some stiffness in his knees, according to Jim Zorn. ... Kelly tore an anterior cruciate ligament in junior high and had arthroscopic knee surgery during his sophomore year at the University of Oklahoma. He's been pretty impressive in camp so far (NFL quality routes, ridiculous hands and ups), and many observers think he's got the chance to make the most immediate impact of the Skins' 10 (10!!) draft picks this season. I wanted the Skins to draft either Quentin Groves or Jason Jones with that pick, but if he produces I'll get over it.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2008 Thank goodness his injury is not too serious.....With what's already happened on the defense I wasn't holding my breath.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2008 I wanted the Eagles to draft Kelly with the pick they used on the Cal kid. Then again with OU's track record of players getting hurt nearly immediately in the NFL I probably shouldn't be hoping the Eagles draft any of them.

That "Cal Kid" is named DeSean Jackson, and it was the right pick considering Jackson can be used as a return man... And given how Special Teams cost us a few games last year, that was a huge need. Broward83 0 Report post Posted August 7, 2008 Don't know if it was mentioned in the off-season thread, but ESPN's got an article up about Caleb Campbell, the player from Army that Detroit drafted. Apparently, there was no rule that would allow him to stay off his duty and he's now to be an assistant coach to the Army team this season before being re-assigned. MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2008 I hope theres more of Ray Rice for the Ravens this year, he's impressing me a lot early in this game.
Guest Cal Moriarty Report post Posted August 8, 2008 Reports from Bourbonnais are that both Kyle Orton and Rex Grossman both look like utter shit in training camp. Lovely. The Ort is starting tonight, but Lovie said he's starting "for no rhyme or reason." This is what I like to hear from my team's coach. Bears should probably look at Chad Pennington. NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2008 So is NFL Network this preseason, still going to be doing the setup where they show mostly all the preseason games, just tape delayed and not live?
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2008 I think they are airing just about all of the preseason games in some form, but most will be tape delayed.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2008 Ok Cool....I am usually either at work or out and about during the time the Skins preseason games come on since I live on the West Coast....if I happen to be home I can always use Sopcast!!!

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2008 Fabian Washington has 2 Ints..hes gonna be a nice compliment to McCallister. Ravens up 13-3 at the half. I really wouldnt be interested in this other than for Joe Flacco playing later.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2008 Wow, the Monday night announce crew is still as unbearable as ever. Kornheiser is not funny.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2008 Matt Cassel didn't exactly play like he wanted to retain his backup job... 1 INT and 1 Fumble on a Rollout Left (Recovered/Sack) and up & down accuracy wise. Curious to see how O'Connell does.
