I'm glad to have Rhodes back in Indy. Guy is a capable backup. Given that they have four QBs on the roster now, and only one's going to play, they should shop some of these bench guys at RB and QB around a bit, see if they can get some depth at linebacker.

Well, that was actually a pretty impressive drive by Colt. Walked the field for a touchdown, showed good touch and good mobility in the pocket. Still need to see how he reacts to a blitz but that wasn't too bad against the Colt back-ups.

Other than the good touch, meaningless but hey, touchdown drive to start your career even in pre-season ain't too shabby.

On the one drive, he managed to throw more yards than Collins and Campbell.

Mike Hart looked pretty good out there as well. He may get caught up in the numbers game in Indy, but I think he should be able to find a spot on someone's roster.

Even in college Hart had that NFL "grind it out & run over somebody doing it" mentality despite looking slow. I'm still surprised he fell to the 6th (expected a 4th at latest).

Same with Brennan simply because he was so frickin' accurate over his career, which should not be overlooked (offensive system or not).

After reading an article I've discovered that Malcom Kelly's hamstring knotted up and he was considered doubtful. Damn, I was excited to see him play.

Both teams played well last night. As meaningless as preseason is, both coaches had to feel pretty good about their teams.

He also just had a knee scoped, but should be back by the last two preseason games.

Rookie wide receiver Malcolm Kelly underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Monday to remove loose particles in his left knee. Kelly, who team sources expect to miss about two weeks, had the surgery at the Andrews Institute in Gulf Breeze, Fla.

Kelly, who was taken by the Redskins with the 51st pick in the second round of the April draft, had been dealing with a hamstring injury and, in recovering from that, began to feel some stiffness in his knees, according to Jim Zorn.

...

Kelly tore an anterior cruciate ligament in junior high and had arthroscopic knee surgery during his sophomore year at the University of Oklahoma.

He's been pretty impressive in camp so far (NFL quality routes, ridiculous hands and ups), and many observers think he's got the chance to make the most immediate impact of the Skins' 10 (10!!) draft picks this season. I wanted the Skins to draft either Quentin Groves or Jason Jones with that pick, but if he produces I'll get over it.

Thank goodness his injury is not too serious.....With what's already happened on the defense I wasn't holding my breath.

I wanted the Eagles to draft Kelly with the pick they used on the Cal kid. Then again with OU's track record of players getting hurt nearly immediately in the NFL I probably shouldn't be hoping the Eagles draft any of them.

That "Cal Kid" is named DeSean Jackson, and it was the right pick considering Jackson can be used as a return man... And given how Special Teams cost us a few games last year, that was a huge need.

Don't know if it was mentioned in the off-season thread, but ESPN's got an article up about Caleb Campbell, the player from Army that Detroit drafted.

Apparently, there was no rule that would allow him to stay off his duty and he's now to be an assistant coach to the Army team this season before being re-assigned.

Reports from Bourbonnais are that both Kyle Orton and Rex Grossman both look like utter shit in training camp. Lovely. The Ort is starting tonight, but Lovie said he's starting "for no rhyme or reason." This is what I like to hear from my team's coach. Bears should probably look at Chad Pennington.

So is NFL Network this preseason, still going to be doing the setup where they show mostly all the preseason games, just tape delayed and not live?

The one thing that occurs to me watching the Jets/Browns game is that Bernie Kosar is a complete nitwit.

Matt Cassel didn't exactly play like he wanted to retain his backup job...

1 INT and 1 Fumble on a Rollout Left (Recovered/Sack) and up & down accuracy wise.

Curious to see how O'Connell does.
