EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 Ryan Howard really, really can not hit left handed pitching.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 Couple quick facts: -That is the fourth career postseason win for Cole Hamels, and fourth this postseason. He is already the second most winningest Phillie in postseason history, trailing only Steve Carlton's six wins. -Brad Lidge saved his 12th postseason game. That ranks third all time, behind only Mariano Rivera (by a lot) and Dennis Eckersley.
the pinjockey Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 I am just happy to have a little peace watching the game tomorrow. Coming out of tomorrow with at least a split means I won't have a heart attack again like tonight. So happy that I won't even question why Bruntlett was left in to bat instead of using Stairs/Dobbs....well, maybe still a little questioning.
C Dubya 04 Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 Tomorrow could be massive for the Phils though. On a relief note for me personally, I got tickets to Game 5, so either I get to see a World Series game, or the Phils are World Champs. Awesomeness.
the pinjockey Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 Oh absolutely, but a person's mental well being hinging on which Brett Myers shows up can have long term side effects.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 I expected results no different from what we got tonight. The real test comes when Cole Hamels is not on the mound.
C Dubya 04 Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 I may be overly optimistic, but I like the match up tonight. I don't think Myers will be dominant, but I really think that the Phils can get to Shields. Hopefully early. I don't think Ballfour would be available tonight, would he?

garfieldsnose Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 The calls are going TB's way this time. Fuck.
garfieldsnose Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 I don't know how much more of 0-RISP I can take.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 I don't know how much more of 0-RISP I can take. 1-RISP. That Victorino single counts.
garfieldsnose Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Not to me. It didn't accomplish anything in the inning, so I don't include it.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 1-23 now with RISP. This is a joke.
garfieldsnose Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 This game bugs me. We should have at least scored some runs. I don't want to go back to Philly 1-1 anymore (Today I didn't have a problem with it until it finally hit me that Jamie Moyer is starting Game 3, so I really would like to be up 2-0 at that point). The incompetency of this lineup with runners on base baffles me. Shields has in no way been great tonight, we've gotten some nice wood on the ball. Now Myers just walks a guy for no reason. They give up walks like nothing and I can't deal with it in a game like this. Error by Ruiz. I really want Philly to win this game.
garfieldsnose Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 OK..... WHY IS IT EVERY FUCKING TIME THEY SWING AT A PITCH WITH RISP ITS A FUCKING HALFHEARTED PIECE OF SHIT SWING THAT THEY QUIT ON RUNNING AS SOON AS THEY HIT IT. FUCKINGODAMNIT.
Brett Favre Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 GREAT JOB CHIEN MING WANG SUCK DICK CHINC GOOK
Guest Smues Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 GBA during post season baseball sucks +1
garfieldsnose Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 7 hits, 0 runs vs. 6 hits, 4 runs. cries.
garfieldsnose Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Rollins should be on first. But isn't. This umpire sucks dick.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Perspective. This series is just tied. It's now best of five, and the Phillies have home field advantage.
garfieldsnose Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 That 9th inning gave me a "ray" of hope, no pun intended. But with Moyer on the mound, as hard as it is for me to admit, I have zero confidence. Forget his regular season, in the playoffs it's about "what have you done for me lately" and he is going to need a quality start for us to even have a chance, and I don't think he can do that.
The Niggardly King Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 This has drawn pretty good ratings so far.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 That 9th inning gave me a "ray" of hope, no pun intended. Silly point to nitpick, but since you put the word "ray" in quotes, your intent to pun is apparent.
garfieldsnose Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Indeed. It was. Nothing gets by TSM.
Dobbs 3K Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 This has drawn pretty good ratings so far. Thank goodness. One less thing for the pundits to complain about.
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 I'm glad the ratings are good. I didn't wan Fox to cancel this series in bottom of the 5th inning during game three.
CanadianChris Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 I have a feeling that a post about the actual ratings might be a bad idea at this juncture.
naiwf Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Here I was thinking a sub 10 number was terrible. Silly me.
bob_barron Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 The ratings are below the 2007 World Series
CanadianChris Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 I believe last night's game was the lowest-rated WS game ever. More people watched what was on CBS.
