Red Baron 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2008 The league did not suspend and fine Morrow for sticking up for Ribeiro. Also reported that Ribeiro was just taking a nap on the ice as he wasn't hurt at all. He just wanted attention.

AntiLeaf33 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2008 Brian Burke is out as Duck's GM. Writing was on the wall here as he made it clear that there were some family issues with being on the West Coast. Link
Prophet of Mike Zagurski 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2008 Burke is probably looking for a home in Toronto. The Ducks have internal problems with our owner being suspended from NHL for SEC violations. Burke was making all the business decisions. I will be thankful for Burke for making some of the decisions that led the Ducks to the Cup but he left the team with cap issues and did we really need Todd Bertuzzi. Guest Report post Posted November 12, 2008 Brown didn't get suspended. Which is good, I mean, because he can do the exact same thing to Ribeiro tomorrow.
the max 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2008 A good game could have happened if the refs had allowed it. Chicago wanted to play, Boston wanted to play, the refs decided "that's enough of that" and proceeded to call every single little fucking thing. 18 penalties so far as we head to overtime. Byfuglien got his shit rearranged by Thornton for being the third man in, even though Byfuglien was the third man in, Thornton gets the instigator AND a 10 minute misconduct. That followed Khabibulin coming out and clotheslining Kobasew 10 feet out of the crease. It's always sad when the refs decide to affect the flow of what could have been a fun, exciting, interesting game. Too bad. Instead of a wild 5-4 shootout, we will end with a 2-1 game marred by unnecessary penalties. As I type this, Barker is called for a minor hook :32 into overtime that will likely decide the game. Unreal. edit: HOW THE FUCK IS THAT A FUCKING PENALTY SHOT. Sharp was even with Ward, who swept down and got puck then Sharp. Nope, somehow that's a penalty shot. This might be the worst officiated game...of the week or something. edit2: Of course this fucking weird game ends with PJ Axelsson of all people scores the winning shootout goal. Weird, weird, weird. The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2008 Quite the opposite game I attended in Buffalo tonight. They put the whistles away. I really love when they just let teams play, unless it's a really blatant thing.

garfieldsnose 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 The Pittsburgh Penguins are exhibiting John Cena overcome the odds mentality, and it's fucking pissing me the fuck off. Once the Flyers gained the momentum and took a 4-3 lead after being behind 3-0, they should have won the game. I'm fucking tired of the Penguins. They got a big fucking break to tie the game tonight and Scott Hartnell doesn't know how to handle a puck on a breakaway. Yeah, not so much a win for the Pens as the Flyers losing it for themselves. CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 ^ He's on his own. I have absolutely nothing positive to say about the Habs right now, nor negative about Bruins. Fuck the Patriots, I'm 0-1 for the week, but that's for another board. What's going on in San Jose? Or, more accurately, with Calgary, who're down 5-0 25 minutes in. This will (likely) be their sixth loss in their past eight. Even the two wins were by just a goal after opening up big leads.

Even the two wins were by just a goal after opening up big leads. These are the real Flames, the kind that go on a little streak every now and then to scrape in to the playoffs. No real secondary scoring and shoddy defense with complete goonery to "fire up the team" when they get down (aka give the other team PP's to increase their lead). It is San Jose but still. I hate the Flames so I obviously enjoy when they get crushed.

CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 I didn't go anywhere near this game on Pro*Line. The Habs should have won in theory (success against the B's, back-to-back games for them in two cities), but I just had this hunch. My Mr. Burns principle "The one who always screws up..well, he's due for a good performance!" is a blessing and a curse.

the max 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=255866&...s=topStory_main Barry Melrose lasts 16 games in his triumphant return to the NHL after 14 years. WTG Barry! Prophet of Mike Zagurski 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 I think it's funny that Melrose lost his job. They couldn't wait till the All Star break. Tampa wasn't that bad of a team. Bob Hartley and Marc Crawford can start sending in their job applications to Tampa now.

garfieldsnose 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2008 Eh, the Habs probably just had a bad night. Don't get the panties in a knot. Boston's a good team (unfortunately) and the Flyers will probably get steamrolled tomorrow night because I'm sure the Habs are quite pissed. Flyers don't have that anger in them when they blow a game, so I don't think they'll care either way if they lose. I'd like to see their record in the shootout since 2005, because if I can remember correctly, I think they've only won two or three in that THREE YEAR SPAN. Urban Warfare 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2008 Holy shit, a fucking insane ending in the Devils-Caps game. A ridiculous last 40-50 seconds culminates with Ovechkin scoring with less than a second left to tie it at 5 and send it to overtime.
the max 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2008 Disappointed in the Bruins loss, but they ran out of gas in the third. Three games in four nights will do that. Still, to take five of a possible six points is fine by me. No rest for them either, four games next week.
garfieldsnose 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2008 Great game tonight in Montreal. Great play by both teams, and it was good that we controlled the game for the most part. When we collapsed defensively, Biron was there to close the door. If only we can get this solid an outing more often, I wouldn't get so mad. Now we have to hope not to have a letdown against Atlanta tomorrow night, who we steamrolled 7-0 a few weeks ago.
