Bobby Lashley makes MMA debut on December 13th...

Recommended Posts

I think the point I was trying to make with that shit last night was that it shouldn't be surprising if Lashley's wrestling didn't look as dominant as one would expect. The "3 time national champion wrestler" line gets thrown around a lot in regards to Lashley, but often without the qualifying statement that it was in the NAIA, which doesn't hold the same level of prestige as even a NCAA Division II title. Plus, he won his titles while nearly 100 pounds lighter than his current fighting weight, which is obviously going to have a detrimental effect on how well most guys can move.

I wonder how many more successful bouts it will take for Dana to pick up Lashley?

I think maybe a streak of 8-9 wins should be enough to get him a draw. The problem is that Lashley is in jeopardy of losing out on a bigger contract if he steps up the competition and loses before he is in the UFC.

If it could be arranged I think a fight with Kimbo somehwere down the line could be enough of a draw while being relatively safe if White hasn't come calling.

It's not going to take eight or nine fights. It probably won't take more then two more.

They signed Brock at 1-0, they signed Cain at I believe 3-0. There's no reason to think they won't sign Lashley at 4-0 or so.

And if they don't Strikeforce probably will or a Japanese promotion. Lashley's not a household name, but people do know him. No one is going to let him sit around much longer.

When you have trouble with Guida, you don't deserve a shot at the big leagues just yet. "But it's only his second pro fight!" Yeah, no shit, but that's even more justification to not have him fight on a big show.

Seeing a wrestler with his kind of physique and athleticism struggle this much definitely makes Lesnar look more impressive considering the amount of competition he faced in the early stages of his career. Guida's thirty pro fights are a joke compared to Heath Herring's experience.

“I’ve had dialogue with (the UFC) over the past few days. They know where my mind frame is. I hold the UFC in high regard and I believe the UFC is a place where you have to be at a certain level before you get there. I want to be a serious contender for a title before I go in there. When I get to the UFC, I want people to say ‘Bobby is good enough to go for the title.’ I would like to be holding a 5-0 or 6-0 record, somewhere around there before going into the UFC. If I can take what I do in practice and put that into a match — then you’ll see a whole different Bobby than what you saw the other day.”

the net is roaring with claims of a dive

'so silly

the net roars with claims of a dive after EVERY short fight, especially those sherdog retards

When Big John pulls Bobby off, you can clearly see that cook is out and limp...I guess cook learned his lesson, don't come to the ring wearing a wrasslin mask and expect it to not anger Lashley

Bobby Lashley went up against Mike Cook tonight's MFC 21 event at Edmonton's River Cree Casino.

Cook came out wearing a Rey Mysterio mask in an effort to mock Lashley.

Lashley jumped in and went for a guillotine and, just like that, it was over. Lashley is the winner in 24 seconds.

That's hilarious. Good for you Bobby.
