Epic Reine Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 Taken actually looks pretty interesting. How are the reviews for it?
Zetterberg is God Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 Paul Blart is holding strong.
Youth N Asia Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 Glad to see Sweet Home Alabama II bomb
Aero Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 Taken actually looks pretty interesting. How are the reviews for it? I haven't seen any bad reviews, but a bunch have been pretty average. Ebert gave it **1/2 for what it's worth. I saw it yesterday and liked it a lot. It had a kind of slow beginning, but once the kidnapping happens, it's pretty much nonstop fun. The movie was a little shorter than I was expecting, but I'd still recommend it.
bob_barron Posted February 1, 2009 Author Report Posted February 1, 2009 Taken is one of those movies that is what it's advertised to be. I love movies like Taken, so I really enjoyed it. It's currently my #1 for 09. Reviews have been mixed
The Ghost of bps21 Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 Why don't you put your top 5 for the year in your sig for quick reference.
bob_barron Posted February 1, 2009 Author Report Posted February 1, 2009 That would involve actually changing my sig! Hmmm I might, that's a good idea.
DrVenkman PhD Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 I honestly did not see Paul Blart coming this close to $100M. Good for Kevin.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 Gran Torino is really holding strong as well. Clint Eastwood and Kevin James run this shit!
treble Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 Taken was pretty good, but Maggie Grace isn't believable as a 17-year old.
Craig Th Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 That's Maggie Grace? Ha, didn't notice her in the previews.
Gert T Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 Taken was pretty good, but Maggie Grace isn't believable as a 17-year old. That's funny because I assumed she was playing a college student traveling during the summer. I could buy 20 or 21.
Beto Chavez Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 I haven't seen any bad reviews, but a bunch have been pretty average. Ebert gave it **1/2 for what it's worth. I saw it yesterday and liked it a lot. It had a kind of slow beginning, but once the kidnapping happens, it's pretty much nonstop fun. The movie was a little shorter than I was expecting, but I'd still recommend it. The Chronicles of Narnia: Aslan's Revenge
muzz Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 Taken was released here on DVD last week, strange.
The Buzz Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 Taken was an awesome Bourne like action movie without the heavy conspiracy storyline. The Wrestler and Taken are probably my top movies I've seen in the last six months.
