Mike Posted April 2, 2009 Report Posted April 2, 2009 I can look them up, but that takes extra time. What were some of the obvious ones?
Dandy Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 Please welcome Enigma, goldengreek, and Ultima to your 2009 moderating team.
Jingus Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 TOO SOON. I mean, dude, nobody likes a good laugh more than I do... except for Brutesquad Brody, and Leena, all the Boardum regulars and most of the Maff Clique... okay, most people like a good laugh more than I do. But some jokes just cross the line, maaaaan.
Prince Paul Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 Mike, I approve of the direction that you've taken TSM.
SuperJerk Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 I can look them up, but that takes extra time. What were some of the obvious ones? Gulag. (especially the period at the end) and World Events folders spring to mind.
Matt Young Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 Those were the only ones. The Gulag. = No Holds Barred; World Events = Current events.
SuperJerk Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 The period at the end of Gulag is a Leena-ism, and must be eradicated.
Thoth Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 This was the most confusing April Fool's Ever.
Mike Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 I totally agree! Not only confusing, but long lasting, starting prior to April 1st and ending after it too.
TheFranchise Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 The period at the end of Gulag is a Leena-ism, and must be eradicated. I vote for the traditional 'No Holds Barred' name.
Smues Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 If it's No Holds Barred it should have Hulk Hogan and Zeus as mods.
fazzle Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 I vote for it to merge with LSD and be No Holes Barred
zhangmeijie Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 What the hell's a Gulag anyway? No holds barred has a nice traditional ring to it.
TheFranchise Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 The Gulag was the government agency that administered the penal labor camps of the Soviet Union. Gulag is the Russian acronym for The Chief Administration of Corrective Labor Camps and Colonies.

Nightwing Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 It's not that obscure. The concept of "Gulag" is relatively well-known in the US. In particular, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's writings among others helped imprint the concept on many Americans.

Nightwing Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 Obviously. I was simply explaining why it isn't as much so in the US.
zhangmeijie Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 Obviously. I was simply explaining why it isn't as much so in the US. No I get your meaning mate.
Live Free or Battlenuts Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 Orientals don't use the word mate! What other lies have you told us? Are you even really the handsome female in your avatar?
zhangmeijie Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 Orientals don't use the word mate! What other lies have you told us? Are you even really the handsome female in your avatar? Where have you being? I am in Ireland at the moment. That's no secret. Irish use mate like its going out of fashion.
TheFranchise Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 I didn't know you were in Ireland! Where abouts are you?
zhangmeijie Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 I didn't know you were in Ireland! Where abouts are you? I said it in another thread somewhere. That I am working and studying in Ireland. I am in Dublin county. (Fingal.)
Matt Young Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 What's it like over there? I am of Irish descent, but I have never visited the country. I've only been outside the country once, when I went to Canada in 2003. Hey, new thread idea!
