Enigma 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2009 World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of Raw Superstar Mr. Kennedy (Ken Kennedy) as of today, May 29, 2009. WWE wishes Ken the best in all future endeavors.
Frankie Williams 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2009 It was only a matter of time............time.
Thanks for the Fish 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2009 He was too damn fragile. I still think the storyline making him a McMahon would have been the best way to go with that storyline. However Vince soured on him and he never got any depth to his character. Not to mention his constant pimping of his shitty straight to DVD movie made fans resent the hell out of him. He got over because of the Greenbay Plunge finisher, and when he stopped using it fans stopped caring.
NitroJMS 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2009 He's basically been on the DL or suspended since his Money in the Bank win in 2007, so this isn't surprising at all. He's also useless to TNA without his gimmick since his catchphrase is the only thing that is over. I just noticed someone on Wikipedia altered his name to Kenneth C. Injury. haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2009 It was indeed only a matter of time. Hate to see him go, but he hasn't wrestled on a regular schedule for about 2 years. I was starting to wonder if maybe he had Osteoporosis, considering how fragile his body seemed to be.
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2009 I guess my Kennedy shirt will be a collector item now huh? Anyway, why did they bother to bring him back in the main event of RAW, only to can him days later? Wow, just 3or so years ago we all thought he would be a top star of the future, now we remember him for being hurt all the time, also for injuring Cena in October 07, and for letting his mouth and choices ruin a big push in summer 07. TNA will probably try to use him, but without the gimmick, he will just be another guy. Wonder if they could call him Mr. Anderson, his original WWE name and his real name. But WWE probably trademarked that too.

Wrestlefreak 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2009 I don't think there's a chance we might see Kennedy be re-hired so quickly after his release like Cryme Tyme were.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2009 It seems like he's gone because of Randy Orton. He nearly injured Orton on Monday and he must have gone to McMahon and used his sway to ditch him. That and the injuries.
haVoc 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2009 I can't say I'm shocked Kennedy was released, but I'm surprised WWE would release him when he's injured. There must be more to this story.
haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2009 Whoever does Kennedy's website said he's 100% healthy, and will soon have an announcement regarding his future. So, maybe he didn't get hurt Monday? My guess is it was probably that sick (not to mention sloppy) back suplex on the Orton, Monday night that sealed his fate. I thought Kennedy was trying to emulate Dr. Deaths Backdrop Driver with the way he drilled Orton.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2009 I believe he dropped him on Orton's bad shoulder, which he'd been out with before. If you watch Ortons reaction, he seems PISSED. He gets up before Kennedy!
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2009 Yeah I noticed that on Raw as well and thought it was really weird. It was like Orton was flat out legit pissed. On the Raw thread I joked that a potential Kennedy/Orton feud would be such a nightmare that it can't possibly happen. Frankly, Kennedy should have been released a long time ago. He was already injury prone but once he was suspended in 2007 and was removed from the whole Vince storyline that should have been it for him. Kennedy always was a one note gimmick, screaming his own name at the top of his lungs.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2009 Kennedy always was a one note gimmick, screaming his own name at the top of his lungs. Which is why he won't succeed in TNA.
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2009 Kennedy didn't break his wrist, he just hurt it. Meltz is crediting the departure to possibly the pull of Orton. Orton had a talk, a non-confrontational one, with Kennedy after RAW, expressing that he (Ken) needed to freakin' *TONE THAT SHIT RIGHT ON DOWN* or he was going to hurt someone (after dropping Orton on his bad shoulder/collar bone, as mentioned before). This may have got back to Vince or whatever, who has obviously pulled the plug. Thank God too, Kennedy was sheeite. Next.
Thanks for the Fish 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2009 Also the wwe probably was unsure about his wrist and thought damn "He's injured again", and when he turned out to just have banged it up the took the opportunity to release him before he got hurt again, or hurt somebody. I can't see Kennedy working indies, because he's so damn injury prone and should he get hurt in the indies, he'll starve while out. I think it will be TNA or maybe he'll try to get into movies. sluggo 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2009 Killed Eddie Hurt Cena Fucked up and got hurt before his shot at the title Fucked up a chance to be Vince Jr. Made a movie and didn't wrestle a lick while promoting it Had a huge push upon his return and got fired less than a week later yep...he had a great run! With that said.... He'll be back next year
notJames 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2009 Does anyone have footage of Kennedy dropping Orton on his bad shoulder? I think I dozed off during Raw's main event and missed it. Nevertheless, good riddance to Kennedy (pause) Kennedy. One trick ponies should all be put out to pasture.
Nitro 24/7 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2009 Iron Sheik says "Fuck Da Kennedy"
Thanks for the Fish 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2009 What I hate is that Kennedy just disappears from wwe programming without a mention. I mean he has his big return last week and is gone without mention or angle. Why not put some heat on another wrestler by at least mentioning "there was a backstage altercation between Ken Kennedy and Wrestler X, and Kennedy punked out and quit" or "Ken Kennedy was arrested for kiddie porn charges". The wwe owns the rights to the Ken Kennedy trademark and character so they could write him off however they wanted.
haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2009 That Youtube video was actually pretty damn funny. I don't mind Kennedy too much, he just stays hurt. I'm sure he'll be back eventually. With that said, his first theme song was a LOT better than the one he was using up to his release.
