Guest BillyTheStud Report post Posted May 2, 2004 Randy Orton, while not personally loved by everyone, seems to be gaining respect backstage for being his own man. He does not suck up to management or Triple H as many do and is considered very tough for his age. At this point, his only knock seems to be his injury prone past. Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted May 2, 2004 You're right, that was retarded. I forgot paralyzed people couldn't get it up... And I'm not the only person wondering "Why is shaking Droz's hand such a big deal". The guy gets crippled. Why not shake everyone elses hand whos paralyzed. I don't see people shaking Dynamite kid's hand.
NYU 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2004 And I'm not the only person wondering "Why is shaking Droz's hand such a big deal". The guy gets crippled. Why not shake everyone elses hand whos paralyzed. I don't see people shaking Dynamite kid's hand. Perhaps because Dynamite Kid wasn't sitting in the WWE Locker Room, so there wasn't an opportunity to shake his hand. Perhaps also that people actually like Droz, and think that he should be treated with the utmost respect by the new people, while the Dynamite Kid has always been considered to be a bit of a douchebag. I'm not saying I agree with the "shake hands with Droz or your career is finished" mentality, but the question you posed was quite idiotic.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted May 2, 2004 Droz: Pro Wrestler for barely 1 year. Dynamite Kid: A hell of a lot more. Just because D'lo Brown fucked up doesn't mean everyone else has to kiss Droz's ass like he means anything. If he wasn't crippled WWE would've fired his ass early in 2000 I always said. You still should show respect for the man. His entire life has now been confined to a wheelchair, and it came as a result of being a professional wrestler. If nothing else, it's not a terrible request to ask you to shake his hand and talk to him for a few minutes. From all accounts, he's a decent person, and he should be treated as such. It's not about greeting Stone Cold, The Undertaker, and guys who you think can do something for your career in the future. It's about being a good human being, and being kind towards those that are now less fortunate than you - such as one that is paralyzed and permanently confined to a wheelchair. You really should quit now.

You are trying to make him out as god because hes in a wheel chair. Thats like me saying Owen Hart was god because he died in a horrible way. Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted May 2, 2004 I'm just getting the point across that Droz shouldn't be treated like God just because he's in a wheelchair. I'm not saying I wouldn't shake his hand, because I probably would. I do to anyone I meet...within reason of course. To say NO ONE thinks like that though (Anti-Droz) is crazy. There's no such thing as everyone agreeing on something. I was just trying to show the other side.

EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2004 Just to add something to the Droz thing. If I remember right Droz can't move from the neckdown and I guess O'Haire and crew didn't feel right trying to shake his hand or didn't know how to greet him.

snuffbox 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2004 Droz was crippled in the ring...he basically gave his normal life for the wrestling business... These things happen in wrestling and his fellow workers show him the proper respect... SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2004 I'd personally like to meet Droz. He's a tragic figure in the world of wrestling, and if he were to ever regain control of his body and come back in a non-wrestling role I'd be truly inspired. I thought he was cool when I was a mark too. The whole piercing kit was funny.

NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2004 While Orton certainly took a step in the right direction after his performance at Backlash, I still believe he has recieved too much too soon, and there are much more deserving workers on the roster. But, with a promotion run by Vince, and Vince followers, I guess that is just the way it goes.
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2004 Orton's push has leveled off in my opinion. He's been IC Champ for several months now, which is just fine for him. I don't think he should have gone over Shawn Michaels so early last year, but that's just me. It's also noteworthy that his pay-per-view debut was in the main event of Summerslam. But lately, I don't think he has been overpushed and he's settled into an enjoyable role. I've also been digging his matches lately...
