  1. I doubt it'll even bring in ratings that are big relative to other Fox shows. Fox is probably banking on continued good DVD sales plus enough eps for syndication to offset ok ratings.
  2. Having trouble placing Thacker's accent. I think it's Saskatchewan, but it could be Newfie. Anyone?
  3. Drunk and half-naked. The problem, of course, is that they're all half-naked guys. At least throw Willa Ford in there at least. It's not like her career is going anywhere (did it ever start? There was "I Wanna Be Bad", but does that even count?)
  4. Fuck, he's going all John Matrix on us...
  5. Yeah, I thought the Chenbot filled the role of "giggly bimbo of the week" quite well... Anyways... - Brauch and AB worked well together, and I think the lack of a studio audience really helps them, as they can easily interact with the chefs. - Nice to see the sous chefs get put over, something we didn't normally get in the original (lost in translation maybe?). - I'm still not liking the Chairman "choosing" the challenger's opponent. Sure it's just showmanship (since the IC is chosen ahead of time) but it'd be kinda nice to have that little bit of flair... - more thoughts as I think of them...
  6. 24 followed by CSI: Miami, if you feel so inclined.
  7. Bump. I'm glad I don't live in the 24-verse, since any car accident you get in runs the risk of having you blowed up real good...
  8. Personally I think that Stephen Harper is the right choice to sway Ontario back over to the right, federally. Unless he turns out like Stockwell "Doris" Day, I'll be voting for the Tories next election. The next provincial election can't come soon enough.
  9. It's possible. Interesting to note though, that 88 is a lucky number in Chinese...
  10. (with apologies to Chris Claremont) Welcome to the 49ers Mike Nolan. Hope you survive the experience...

    I love EA.

Well, on the glass-still-has-some-water-in-it side, maybe they can make a CFL game...
  12. That's pretty much the way to go - it's how I got to see the HR Derby (won by noted powerhouse Cal Ripken) waaaay back when the ASG was in Toronto...

    I love EA.

Seeing "ESPN Madden 2006" will take some getting used to. And apparently, if you've got a product out that's in direct competition with EA Sports, you shouldn't fuck with them by lowering your prices...
  14. A little bit of both, I think. And Nip/Tuck and Desperate Housewives winning last night was really a crock of shit. Not sure what the GG people were smoking. Well, they gave Mariska Hagritay and Jason Bateman GGs, so it wasn't an entirely bad batch they were smoking...
  15. Man, Jorge Garcia is like 2.5x Evangeline Lily's size. Is he really that big or is she just really tiny?
  16. I wish I could get past the annoying stupidity of Laurer and Brat so that I could enjoy Verne's antics, but it's just not worth it. They need to have an edited version that only has Verne in it...
  17. The only problem I have with the "Director's Cut" is that it almost seems to have been made in hindsight, but that's just me. Overall though, it was still a good flick from a rookie director, filled with what I suppose are rookie mistakes that you hope he'll correct with Ghost Rider. Speaking of which... I'm not sure how a "supernatural western" makes it closer to the comic. I'm also unsure about having Nic Cage in this, but Cage as Blaze has to be better than Keanu as Constantine or Berry as Catwoman. Anyways, I suppose that this is still in the early stages, so I'm not worried yet.

    Board Games

Cranium is a fun game, but my friends tend to "friendly wagering" games such as MJ, Big 2 and poker. Although there are some arguments as to exactly how to play Big 2, but that's probably another thread.
  19. I had the same problem, so I went and bought the newer verison (which I knew was small, but didn't realize just HOW small until I took it out of the box). It was priced $50CDN more than a refurb though. Still, I wasn't exactly impressed with the 2 week warranty that EBGames had, and since my brother had gotten me a gift card from there, I was pretty much stuck there. I'll probably put my busted console on eBay, as there seems to be a market for it.
  20. Shipments might be delayed a day because of MLKjr Day, check with your local shop to make sure... DOCTOR SPECTRUM #5 (OF 6) (MR) $2.99 MADROX #5 (OF 5) $2.99 NIGHTCRAWLER #5 $2.99 Comments: (1) 3 issues in about 6 weeks is fucking insane. And to top it off Bedard's stories aren't particularly interesting. I'm glad I've dropped this from my "pull" list...
  21. The key phrase is "Relative to the rest of the shows". It just wasn't as good as the other eps this year. It just didn't do it for me. Maybe it was swerve death #2 or maybe it was because when all was said and done, I still didn't give a shit about Boone, but was very intruiged by Locke. Or maybe it was something else, I really don't know.
  22. Actually, I think the Boone episode was a bad one, relative to the rest of the shows.
  23. Found this quiz in the Houston Chronicle. All you have to do is guess whether the quotes are about Steve and Cuttino or Brad and Jennifer... 1. "He had the biggest heart I've ever known." Aniston, in a magazine interview, talking about Pitt. 2. "They're just separated. Maybe they'll get back together. This is a very big deal for them." People magazine editor Jess Cagle, regarding the Pitt-Aniston breakup. 3. "Him not being here is going to be tough for me. I don't know what I'm going to wake up for." Francis on Mobley. 4. "We happily remain committed and caring friends with great love and admiration for one another." Aniston and Pitt in a joint statement regarding their breakup. 5. "It's a very emotional time for (them) and I understand that." Magic coach Johnny Davis, regarding the Francis-Mobley breakup. 6. "They lived their life in a fishbowl. They could not do anything without speculation going rampant." A publicist regarding Pitt and Aniston. 7. "I told (him), 'You think I'm going to turn around and do something that hurts you?' He was sort of like, 'Well, I've got no choice but to trust you. Your eggs are in my basket and my eggs are in yours.' " Magic GM John Weisbrod on a conversation he had with Francis, post-breakup. 8. "This decision is the result of much thoughtful consideration." Pitt and Aniston in their statement. 9. "I can't put it into words ... living with a guy, just knowing that every day when I wake up that's something I can count on ... They messed up something that started so good." Francis on Mobley. 10. "They're searching for the answer, which is not an easy one to come up with." A Pitt family friend on how the once-loving couple is handling things now. OK, it's not that difficult, but it's funny...
  24. I'd probably say helped, because then you didn't have IC fans pissing, moaning and posting everywhere about how it wasn't really IC and such. I could also point out how Iron Chef USA had a horrid audience, but I don't think that's a real valid point because a) I figure that the MGM Grand was giving away tix as a comp, so the audience didn't really care one way or the other and b) it's not like the audience was the only shitty thing about those shows.
  25. That's brilliant in a twisted, mind-numbing pull-you-hair-out kind of way.
