We signed Gillingham's utility left back. Huzzah. Sad to see James Quinn go, that was a royal fuckup by everyone involved. And Shefki effing Kuqi is in the prem. That defies belief.
At Glasto I was wearing a labcoat with the lyrics to 'This Town...' on the back and some people not unlike my parents absolutely adored me for it.
I finally got a copy of Pulp's This Is Hardcore, along with The Soft Boys' Nextdoorland Laibach's Anthems and The Replacements' Tim.
The only song I think is 'great' is 'In the Backseat' and those token fast drumbeats don't work for me at all. Maybe they'll get the balance right eventually. Definitely good, but I'm not that interested.
They reformed for the NME awards this year, and nobody cared. I have affection for 'I Don't Like Mondays' and some for 'Rat Trap' but he's supremely irritating and I wish he'd piss off.
I'm glad I haven't seen High Tension, then.
Talking Heads - Fear of Music.
I'm beginning to think that whilst they were a great band, their individual albums tend to be overrated.
Though the height of his push had gone, I did have a feeling that Orton would do it, actually. Until the match. You just knew UT was on autopilot from the opening bell.
Really? I thought they'd been pretty much slated. I dunno if he should be allowed to release stuff, personally. That dude is fucked. He's currently gone for the blond Hitler youth look.
Wire's Colin Newman has a superb sarcastic arrogant drawl. Iggy and The New York Dolls were awesome in the 70s rock scene, at least. I guess Jagger was pretty damn good for a while too, and they did copy a lot of what he did.
I almost bought the crazy frog single to show my support of such a truly dreadful invention being more powerful than this gaggle of vacuous festering cunts.
