  1. I get the ladder match?! I whoever assigned markers for this.
  2. Feedbackification send, El Maddixadore. I encourage, beg, implore you and Cortez to post your match in the not-quite-winning-match thread. I know it didn't win, but god damn, I loved it. Deciding between it and W&D's was not fun. More comments once I actually read the show, which will be never, because I just picked up God of War. PS2 boobies > SWF.
  3. Bring me Sane Luchadore.
  4. Here're the quick results: Congratulations to GOdrea, who went 5 for 5 on the predictions. Your wookie is in the mail.
  5. Lord David = my new hero.
  6. Holy hell. Spyware Doctor found 22,000+ Infections. I knew spyware was a problem, but goddamn.
  7. You're in good company. Welcome to the SWF!
  8. So, about a week ago, my computer started doing something strange. One every few minutes (generally 3-5), whatever I'm currently doing... well, it's hard to describe... here are some examples... If I'm typing in a window (like I'm doing right now), the text cursor will disappear and the top of the browser (Firefox) will go from Dark Blue to Light Blue - this is what normally happens if you start interacting with something OTHER than Firefox, like if I brought up Winamp or something. Trouble is, I didn't do anything like that. If I try to play a game, every 3-5 minutes it gets minimized and I'm taken back out to Desktop. Games do this if something happens on Desktop, like a popup or an AIM message coming in - but nothing is happening. My game minimizes, I'm taken to desktop, and there's nothing. Every 3-5 minutes, no matter what I'm doing, whatever is currently active just gets deselected, for lack of a better term. My computer is acting like something keeps interrupting whatever program I'm running, but as far as I can see, nothing actually is interrupting the programs. Anyone know what this is, or how to fix it?
  9. If they released a DVD just of Conan playing Walker clips, I'd buy it. The kid jumping off the ladder and the staredown/"It's him!" were just hilarious. Great find, Downhome.

    SSX 4

I'd like it if they gave the characters their personalities back. SSX3 was awesome, but one problem I had was all the characters were the same. They all said "Mad good", they all said "wicked bad", and they all had the same basic personalities. Although, technically, I guess Kaori is exempt, considering I have no idea what she said. They should keep the gameplay of SSX3, but go back to the wacky style of Tricky.
  11. If you've got the time, cook it up. Even if the taggers do show, we can use it somewhere down the line. That should be our next project - a ginormous DNS reserve library, filled with Cardboard Comet and Grahf matches.
  12. I'll take it, Dace. Both teams get a "Chris is in class so he can't mark anyway right now" extension which lasts until I get home (7:30 MST). Hop to it.
  13. I apparently missed the McGriddle incident. Was it an April Fools thing or something? EDIT: Whoops. I thought it was recent. Checking the picture, this was a while ago it seems.

    SSX 4

http://www.playfrance.com/ps2-SSX-4/news/1...X-4-arrive.html I guess this counts as a confirmation. SSX3 was, by far, one of the best games of 2003 (tied for 3rd best, actually) - as long as EA doesn't fuck too much with the formula, I'll be happy. That said, my biggest gripe with SSX3, and Tricky, was there was never a real sense of speed. From the three sentences you can actually read in the pictures, it seems like this is being addressed. Yay. Skiing. An odd choice, but as long as they don't neglect the Snowboarding, I can live with it. Thoughts?
  15. I seem to be one of the few people who liked the original X-Box controller. I would've preferred the diamond placement of ABXY, but I got used to it the way it was. Plus, the small controllers that DO have the diamond placement moved the White/Black buttons to the worst possible place. They were fine on the original. That said, I've got no immediate complaints about the controller they showed up there, other than the fact that it's ugly.
  16. Awesome episode - great way to kick off the last 8 hours. I kinda wish Keeler hadn't made it, though... oh well. So, any predictions as to what sort of sleazy scheme Mike is cooking up? Or how Palmer's going to come back?
  17. Same way you tag anything else. Open Bracket: [ The word spoiler: spoiler Close Bracket: ] Then type whatever's spoiled. Then end it with open bracket, /spoiler, close bracket. The movie said it was pushed up the river by a storm. It doesn't explain how it got to Africa in the first place, why everyone was in the lower hold when they died, or any number of other loose ends that the book ties up.
  18. There's also a budget title, ala PS2's "Greatest Hits", for a few companies. I forget which ones run it... one of them is whoever (legitimately) owns Lain. Discs are lowered to about $15, US, which I'd be willing to pay. I turn to boots because regular prices are just obscene - as soon as a series drops to a reasonable cost, I buy the real version. Also, it's good to check every site you can find during holidays - over Christmas, Rightstuf sold the Neon Genesis Evangelion 8-Disc Box Set for $40. Yes, that's right - $40. It still goes on Amazon for something like $130.
  19. It's a bootleg. That's what I meant by stealing. And as far as the series' it covers - FX bootlegs just about everything, from what I've seen, while other companies (like MAC) go for more obscure stuff. The FX boots I own are all big names - Cowboy Bebop, Lain, FLCL, etc - but I almost never see bootlegs of these series by other companies. That's not to say they don't exist - it's just most stores carry (carried) FX. And since FX's "issues", I've had a helluva time trying to find the series's that they carried from other companies.
  20. Bootleg prices are obscenely reasonable. That's why I buy 'em. As far as FX goes - I've got no idea. I've been trying to find out, but all I know is what importanime said on their front page. They're having, quote, "some issues", unquote. They indicated that, at some point, they'll probably be restocking FX, so that's good. Especially considering FX steals lots of series' that no other companies do.
  21. Nope. It was good quality, to be sure, but worshipping the FFVI soundtrack for as long as I have, I can tell it's not the soundtrack. Sorry, just had to geek out for a second. As for the movie - favorite joke would have to be the X-Box acting as Umaro.
  22. I'm gonna say "no" on that one, mainly because I liked that part of National Treasure was a mystery. A whacked out mystery to be sure, but still a mystery. The big question for Sahara - how/why did a Confederate Ironclad end up buried in an African desert - is never answered. There's less sleuthing and more explosions. That said, Sahara is still a fun movie, and worth seeing. But I wouldn't put it above National Treasure.
  23. Bootlegs are tricky. By no means do I consider myself an authority on the subject, but I think they basically fall into two categories: 1. Hong Kong bootlegs - if there's not an ounce of English on the packaging and the only spoken language available is Japanese, it's probably one of these. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. They're subbed by people who don't speak English and the timing is typically about 9 minutes off. 2. Region 1 Ripoffs - The "good" bootlegs. They steal everything - video, audio, subtitles, extras, even boxart, straight from the American release. FX is one such company. Some people say the R1 Ripoffs have lowered video quality, because they pack a lot of episodes onto one disc (Cowboy Bebop's FX set is over three discs - 9 episodes, 9 episodes, 8 episodes, for example), but honestly, I've never really seen much difference or reason to complain. I've viewed them on different TV's with different players and never seen anything that made me regret buying them. I've got seven FX sets at the moment, never had any problems with any of them.
  24. D'oh. It depends on the seller - some take Paypal, some don't. Also, lots of stores sell their wares on Ebay, so not everything's used. You just have to look carefully.
  25. I'm pretty sure they do. I'm on the computer lab right now, so I'm not whipping out my credit card to test it... let me check my email, see if I kept any receipts. EDIT: Never mind, it's right in their FAQ. I accept paypal (www.paypal.com) which you have to sign up for, and use either your creditcard or bank account to pay with. Money Order, or cash if you want to risk mailing it. EDIT: Don't read any of this, ever. See below.
