  1. Howie Long should be Brock/Venom. He has done some acting in the past.
  2. I always think it's stupid that people have pictures of themselves drinking anyway. Big whoop, we know you drink, is that supposed to make you cool or something? Especially freshmen and sophomore girls. That's still a pretty fucked rule, though.
  3. It's pretty easy to judge who won a fight in UFC. Take the amount of time spent on top, and there's your winner. It's a little harder in Pride, where they give more balance, but generally speaking the top is where you want to be most of the time.
  4. Ripper should be a lawyer for all the "bad guys" in sports.
  5. Laz beat me to it, but the Thing is definitely up there. Pumpkinhead is pretty awesome as well.
  6. Here's another for you guys: Sefo vs. Hunt from Fukuoka 2001. Probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite K-1 fight ever. http://files.filefront.com/DivX___FIGHT_Ra...;/fileinfo.html
  7. Here's round 2 of Jerome Le Banner and Mark Hunt from a 2002 K-1 card in Paris. Note: Knees aren't allowed in Paris for some stupid reason, so that's why you don't see any. Doesn't make for any less of a great fight though. http://rapidshare.de/files/6475383/Film_Ul..._Hunt_.wmv.html
  8. I'm going to have to go with: Royce Gracie, Mark Coleman, and Kazushi Sakuraba.
  9. I don't know about yall, but there is a guy walking around barfing on my screen where I clicked.
  10. ^ That's pretty cool. I'm banking on there being more than one villain for the third one. Hopefully it won't get like Batman where it's overloaded, but I can see them throwing the Shocker or Electro in as a second baddie in one of the films. ...And there are two things this franchise doesn't need to touch: Spidey's parents being alive, and the clone Spideys.
  11. Want more funny facial reactions? Cro Cop is having a good ol' time watching Silva struggle against Hunt. If I can dig up the pics I'll post them here. Later on tonight I'm gonna upload the second round of Jerome Le Banner vs. Mark Hunt from Paris in 2002, IMO, the greatest round of heavyweight kickboxing in history.
  12. Consistent with my incessant K-1 pimping; Greco vs. Hug from 1998 GP finals. The round before Greco had leveled Hug after the bell with a right hand. At the start of the next round the crowd is nuclear. I'm talking more insane than I have ever heard a fight crow get. Great stuff. Did I also mention this is one of the greatest fights I have ever seen? Boy, I need to put some K-1 on yousendit for some of you guys.
  13. I think UFC 40 is the best intro show. Two guys in the main event that the average viewer has probably heard of; Shamrock and Ortiz, plus the fight quality is pretty high. This show began a new era in UFC.
  14. The Lion's Den is definitely not one of the top gyms out there. I just think they've been passed by in modern MMA. Brazilian Top Team has always had great fighters who could hold their own on the ground and standing, same with Chute Boxe, who I credit with bringing a more brutal style into MMA from their Vale Tudo background. Don't kid yourself if you think Takada Dojo is one of the top gyms. Takada, Yamamoto, and Matsui weren't exactly A class or even B class fighters, and the gym should be named Sakuraba Gym, if anything. I'm sure Takada is just a figurehead for the dojo as he is for Pride. As for the invention of styles who can really say who invented what. Most of those fighters came around in MMA's infancy so it's anybody's guess as to whether they "invented" anything or just expounded on existing knowledge to fit their own strenghts and weaknesses (I'm leaning towards the latter) Team Grabaka and Lei Tong's Killer Bees are two of the really great Japanese teams presently.
  15. Fedor vs. Arlovski - Cage or ring, I don't think it would matter, both could adapt to either one. The cage has never been a big part of Arlovski's game plan like it is for Hughes, Lindland, and other fighters. Silva vs. Liddell - I don't see this one going to the ground. Both like to stand and slug it out, would be a very entertaining bout. Sakuraba vs. Frank Shamrock - Sakuraba will probably never beat another top 10 middleweight, but at least he's been fighting recently. This might make up for the advantages Frank has over him in strength and strikes. I always thought Frank was one of the better MW strikers. Penn vs. St. Pierre - If Penn can cut some fat off his ass, this would be a great matchup. I don't think GSP would let himself get caught in a choke like Hughes did. Gomi vs. Sakurai - Wait, that's already happening! Kawajiri vs. Hansen - That's happening too!
  16. There are three predominant styles: Striker, wrestler, jiu-jitsu specialist. Then you can break it down into subcategories; sambo, judo, muay thai, etc. More and more now though, styles are being eliminated in favor of more "freestyle" fighters. For example Fedor is a good striker, wrestler, and ground fighter. Same for Gomi, Kid, Penn, Arlovski, and other top fighters today. It's hard to restrict fighters to certain styles anymore, but guys like Cro Cop (striker) and Nogueira (jiu-jitsu) are still pretty easy to classify.
  17. My knowledge on featherweights is limited, but you can count me in on LW and above. Don't get to see much Shooto or ZST.
  18. On a related note, Ricky Steamboat has a mechanic's shop about twenty minutes away from my town. It's in Mooresville, NC which is about 15 minutes north of Charlotte. That's pretty cool.
  19. That's true, though if they are still behind after beating LSU next week, then I'll be pissed.
  20. You're referring to Barnett I assume? I figure since he's already fought twice for Pride that he would want to stick around with them considering that the paychecks would be better. K-1's 155 division is better than the UFC's right now. That's sad, considering K-1 has been doing MMA for only a little more than a year now. I would dig Sam Greco vs. Arlovski. If Greco could keep it standing, Andrei might be in trouble. Don't forget about Lyoto Machida either. I'm liking this suggestion of a UFC/K-1 deal.
  21. Sakuraba, Bas Rutten, Royce Gracie, Couture, Ken and Frank Shamrock, Fedor, Nogueira
  22. At least your rankings make more sense than the AP polls. Miami ahead of Bama, what a fucking crock of stupid shit. I swear everyone is against Alabama. It's not like it's TCU or even Utah; it's fucking Alabama. Just bullshit.
  23. Herring is under contract with K-1. Same goes for Goodridge and Frye.
  24. It should read from Pride to UFC and more instead of the other way around Ahem. And what's with the no-love for K-1? 1996-99 K-1 was the best period for combat sports EVER.
