  1. If it is (was) 2005, how come there are no hoverboards or intergalactic human space travel like in the movie? Or giant robots for that matter?
  2. This is a PRIDE open weight GP thread, not a UFC. I am almost 99.99999999% certain there will absolutely NOT, NOT, NOT, NOT, be a "UFC rep" in this tourney.
  3. You've gotta be kidding me.
  4. I'd say the best way to match them up would be as such: Say you had, for instance, these eight fighters (no real reason, just randomly thought of them): Fedor Nogueira Cro Cop Silva Sakuraba Henderson Gomi Kawajiri Match Fedor against Nog, Silva against Cro Cop, etc. Fedor/Nog winner faces Silva/Mirko winner, Saku/Hendo winner faces Gomi/Kawajiri winner, that way everyone would be fighting someone remotely close to their weight, and we won't have any fights like Mark Hunt vs. Sakuraba or Cro Cop vs. Minowa happening. (Don't get any ideas DSE!)
  5. Great, another GP. Let the choosing of the phantom UFC reps begin!
  6. I believe that anyone that can take Hunt to the ground can beat him. He's too inexperienced on the ground, and his last two fights didn't necessarily help him in that regard; fighting someone he has seventy pounds on and someone who is 98% of the time a standup fighter. Hunt does, however, possess the strongest chin in the history of K-1/MMA.
  7. I picked USC but I was deep down wanting Texas to win so all those guys at ESPN could eat crow... What am I thinking, now they got another superstar who's sack they can cling to.
  8. I've always supported the theory that the mafia was involved in the death of the Kennedys as well as Marilyn Monroe.
  9. This month sucks except for the Bret/Jarrett RAW match.
  10. I actually thought Cro Cop landed more clean strikes than Hunt did, but the Pride judges reward aggressiveness; Hunt was moving forward the entire fight.
  11. Two Bama fans. I just hate discussing games on message boards.
  12. Well, I didn't see it, I just liked the fact that won. I'll probably download it when I get back to school and my high speed connection Here's a detailed article on the event: K-1 Dynamite!
  13. K-1 "Dynamite" Results I'm not gonna post any results here just in case someone planned on watching it. Regardless, Heath Herring may be the stupidest human being alive. Well, he is a Texan, and I guess they don't fuck around when it comes to shit like that. I must say also that I'm pretty satisfied with the result of Genki/KID.
  14. Well even though karate generally as a rule sucks copious amounts of ass, Kyokushin is actually pretty awesome. Leg kicks, knees to the face; all legal. It's actually better than some forms of kickboxing, although only open handed strikes are allowed, but only to the body.
  15. ^^^^^^ Best post in the thread
  16. Well fuck the UFC for releasing Lindland and Salaverry. They've got no one to blame but themselves for that. I try not to be anti-UFC, I really try. Wait, can't forget them upping the price of PPV's to 40 dollars either. I could go see some shows in Japan for less than that.
  17. Let's just quit arguing and see how does the second go-round. He's a great fighter who is more than capable of having a good fight. Let's not shoot the horse just because it threw us off one time.
  18. If you were in charge of things we might not have seen Fedor back after his less than thrilling debut against Schilt.
  19. That doesn't really make her famous. Yeah, really. I could make a list of twenty people and then kill them all in November and win this contest handily.
  20. Thank God, I guess DSE was expecting Tamura to finally cave and sign to fight Saku, but when that fell through they obviously didn't have a backup plan. The three new matches actually made the most sense out of the remaining participants. Hopefully Nog and Werdum is signed.
  21. I don't watch the American PPV's anyway. I actually prefer the Japanese commentary for some strange reason.
  22. YOU MUST DIE!!!!/just kidding. I thought you might have lifted the lists from a site or something.
  23. You can count Nastula and Alex out as they are facing each other. Also, someone with more inside info than myself has stated that Werdum himself has confirmed a fight against Nog. That would leave Silva and Thompson. I think if they get desperate enough they would do Saku/Minowa, though as a last resort only. I don't see the Law being used here. Silva against Thompson would be a fun fight. Didn't Silva retire?
  24. Some people have mentioned how creepy the natives are. Surely they can't be creepier than the ones from "Congo," those motherfuckers still give me the creeps into my twenties.
