There is no difference in fandom depending on where you live. Its only dependant on how much fandom you have in what it is you are a fan. That's what I dispute, that's what I find insulting in the misuse of the term, and that's what I'm trying to bash into people's head is not the terminology of fandom. And no, just because that Cubs fan that became one in 2003 is less of one because he hasn't experienced the same level of suffering. At some point along the way, the new fan will learn the pains of having to watch his team suffer, get heckled by opposing teams. It comes with time and they will experience it sooner or later. Again the out of towner aspect is moot in terms of fandom. The fandom itself is only in question by the person's own inaction or action towards being a fan of the thing in question. Just because of an out of towner doesn't have all the resources or stimuli that is brought to him like being right there with the team, doesn't mean they aren't as big of a fan as someone in Atlanta. It might even show more of a dedication to the team than a "real" fan, because we go out of our way to having to find a way to listen into these games, get information on our team, and partcipate as any other fan would.
-
BTW, I don't care if you don't like anime and manga. I take exception though to having to deal with ideology that makes no sense and is downright insulting, like this discussion on fandom. I had no problem with this convo between everyone and Dama until you people brought up the fact that fans like Dama and I apparently have "no right" to be a fan of the team because of where we live. I'm sorry we don't get the "privalege" of living the city of the team, so we live up to that silly concept of being near the team, so we then "earn" the right to cheer for them. That viewpoint is shallow, narrowminded, and ignorant of what the term fandom actually means and is. The term fandom is about your passion for a certain thing, not because of where it is, who it is from, etc. And its exactly what you are declaring is your viewpoint by telling me that I'm a "lesser" of a fan because of the above.

Sure, I don't live in Atlanta, but I like the Atlanta Falcons since I started watching the NFL more. Like Dama, I root for them to win it every year. I was disappointed last year when they lost Vick, but I still rooted for them to win. Hell, I picked the Falcons for my kkk pick'em team, because I like them that much. It doesn't make any sense at all that because I wasn't into football as much as I'm beginning to get into it now, that I can't refer to the Falcons team as "we" simply because I don't live in the city and have all the NFL mythos of the team knowledge, this makes me "not a fan" to you people? As Dama had said, its utter bullshit that we aren't considered a "fans" because we haven't been there most or any part of our lives. As long as we (and this we is the people who root for teams) have the passion to root for the team and we go out of the way of our team, we are fans. Simply because we don't have luxury of growing up in the city that the team is in, doesn't mean we can't be fans. We are fans because we go out of our way to make them apart of our lives, we go out of our way to get as many of their games as we can, we buy the merchandise, we support the team... How the hell does that not make us fans? You guys saying we aren't fans is like saying that people from North America who enjoy anime and manga can't be fans of them because they aren't from Japan. Its like saying that you can't be a fan of TV show simply because you didn't watch it when it originally aired and jumped in half way through, but decided to get into the series and devote yourself to it. Its like saying that you can't be a fan of a series of books, simply because you bought a book in the middle of it and decided that it was the one for you. If the above is by your definition that of a fan, which is what you are doing when you tell Dama and I (and fans like us) that we aren't fans, then I pity your shallowness. Which is what it is when you believe that definition of fandom. Hell, if we go by that train of thought, then almost everyone here who doesn't live in the associated places with the team are fans that aren't "fans", because they are just cheering for a team that they are only interested in because they do not have one of their own town/city. And before anyone pipes up with "but Flik, you live in a country (I live in Canada, for those who don't know) without a NFL team, so its alright for you to be a fan of a team" then you are justifying Dama's position as well. Consider that.

Think its like ten grand per item sold, which usually amounts to at least like 50 sold in a week, so that's like fifty thousand. Then multiply that by at least 100 stores breaking it, which they then check to see, and that's like five hundreed thousand dollars they are losing. Sure pocket change for a company that size, but it negates any profits that item makes. Oh, and before you report them, buy the DVD (game, book, etc), THEN report them. This way you get the best of both worlds. Ratting the idiots out and getting your item early.

I do believe he was trying not to cheat. And I don't support your idea, because there is a possibility of it not running properly. So a word of a caution before attempting to do that. Also, if he's wanting to cheat that badly, he should just use the Arsenic Editor.

Well, we've got like 5 people so far who play. If we had 5 more, we could get a team assembled and like have intra-squad scrimmages to build up some quick XP (and fear not having dumbasses ruin the fun). I'm also got a friend or two I think I can hook into, which would give us a few more.
-
Morale that low is always a pain to fix. The best quick fix solution is hiring good friends, firing people he doesn't like (you can always give monster pushes to others to fill in the holes), booking him well (he loses, but he's featured as top billing), and if his been busting his ass off you might want to check if his health is lower than 70 (which you then give some time for him to heal up his wounds). As for the risk, simply lower the risk as was suggested. If you are WWE though and Jericho's down to 14, you probably are going to lose him. Most guys that slip that low in the WWE are hard to recover back to decent morale and usually (but not always) will ditch you, in my experience anyways. Because his morale is 14, if he's in contract negotiation time, you pretty much are gonna have an uphill struggle to sign him. Just so you know.

Well, if there's Cartman, STR, me and Harleyquinn (I think he'd play on an official team), we're just five people short from an official team. But still, we're like halfway there. I'll be our team's manager and ace starter since I'm the guy purposing this.
-
Weird, wonder why it thinks that. I also know that Cartman and HarleyQuinn did play this not long ago... If you wanna play SS (most batties are Lefties in UBO), you probably want to build up your stamina, catching, and arm strength. Toss in a little body strength and your doing well.
-
If that's your choice, so be it. I'm not saying anything against it, since I've been going after all my fastball pitches with my pitcher. Just with only like so few stamina points, your overall benefits of yours stats will drop. So that's why I say boost up your stamina points early. Also most people who play the game are online around 3pm - 2am EST, that I've usually seen. I'm usually on around 8pm-2am EST. Weekends, its play all day, usually. Considering my machine is pretty old STR and it runs, I'm quite sure your machine will handle it fine.
-
Yup, its still free STR. Maybe I'll catch you on later tonight. Although, as a newbie, do NOT be expecting like great hits or that. You won't get decent hits, and by decent I mean that actually clear the IF, until you get to about level 8. You've got these for base stats: Stamina - Basically how long you last in a game (as you lose stamina per AB). Also increases your overall attributes. If your stamina is 99, your risk for stamina loss is minute. Arm Strength - This is how far you can throw the ball and how fast. This attribute also allows you to pick up the five speed pitches: Fastball, Change Up - 30, 2 Seamer - 40, Cut Fast - 50, Rising Fastball (Riser) - 60 Body Strength - This is all about hitting power. Higher it is, better you hit the ball. Throwing Accuracy - This is how well you'll actually place the pitch. This attribute also allows you to pick up the six breakingball pitches: Slider - 30, Curve - 35, Screw - 40, Sinker - 45, Fork - 50, Split - 55, Knuckle - 60 Catching Range - This is basically how well you catch in your surrounding area. Not really a major concern unless you are wanting to be solely dependable on your fielding. Quickness - This is how fast you react. Stop and go, setting up for a catch, that kinda thing. Again, more for if you wish for your fielding to be what makes you stand out. Speed - This is how fast you move around the basepaths and how fast your run in general. More speed the better, unless you are a slugger. Every level you'll earn 3 points to put into your base stats above, and a single point to be placed into a certain skill (pitching or batting). With pitching skills, the more points you put into a pitch, the faster and more reliable that pitch will be for you. With batting skills, you put more points into one of the 9 little boxes that make up the strike zone which increase your potential for a big hit. From levels 0 - 8, you'll only need 100 xp to gain a level and I suggest any points you gain for your base stats you place into Stamina. After that, depending on which style you go for, spread out yoru points accordingly between Stamina and the one skill you wish to increase right away. Hope the above helps ya out. Edit: If possible, I'd like to create a UBO Tourney Team with all SmartMarks that play this game.
-
So anyone besides me still playing this game? If so, when are you guys on, so I can maybe get into a game with some Smartmarks.
-
Geezus, I've got a bad feeling, I'm getting knocked out now.
-
I think you and I actually don't get to face each other in a regular season game next year either. So if you don't get to face me, see ya next season VX. Although I'll be sad if I don't get ot face you either.

Official Royal Rumble 05 Entrance List
Lightning Flik replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in The WWE Folder
Looking at FBTG's list, its almost like really any "main" stars can win it. Sadly, the only one that I can see winning it is on the RAW side, since not a single RAW superstar (Benoit was SD still when he won) has won it. Even more, I think Edge will be 2nd to last and get screwed by someone (Shawn) and ends up going psycho. As to who wins... I've got no idea, unless they seriously go Batista. -
I can not believe you trusted HIM. Vick > Martz any given day. Well see ya guys in the semis. I'm looking forward to this.
-
Geezus, Triple K passed me in post? When the fuck was this? Oh and congrats to Jingus on making the big 5-0-0-0. You now are considered special. At least that's what I was told when I hit that mark.

High School basketball game ends in 5-2 score
Lightning Flik replied to Spaceman Spiff's topic in Sports
How about the opposing team? They should've massacred Milton's team, but instead put up a pitiful 5 pts. I'd be more disappointed in the 7-4 team than the 2-8 team. -
Oh wow. You decided to mock me with a type of sarcasm that is worthy of a MikeSC post. Wonderfully vicious method of crushing me. Although, I give you credit for at least leaving me with bus fare to get home after such a brutal text style date raping. ...fuck, I really did say MikeSC would've said. That was just terrible of me and I apologize. Still though, could you at least try insulting me a little better? I mean, "brutal text style date raping"? That's quite horrendously sad for an insult. You can do much better at the insults than I can, or at least you should be. After all, isn't it your only specialty? I've got no clue of what you are trying to get at with that. No insults are coming your way till you make some sense. And of course, the next thing you say, does. ...I've had a $6 burger once. Best burger I ever had. Came from a little resturant that gets a decent crowd, people always knew who you were, and it was always a good time there.

Iron Chef America the Series
Lightning Flik replied to MarvinisaLunatic's topic in Television & Film
So Bobby Flay, the man who did a fucking dance on his cooking stuff (twice), is on ICA? Oh geezus, I ain't watching. No matter how much I love watching Sakai and Morimoto making great food, I just can't watch it knowing that ICA promotes Flay. -
High School basketball game ends in 5-2 score
Lightning Flik replied to Spaceman Spiff's topic in Sports
Even in the loss, the guys from Milton have something to be proud about. They held a strong scoring presence team to just 5 points. Don't know about you, but considering the team is 2-8, that probably was the highlight of their entire year. -
Oh wow. You decided to mock what I said. Wonderfully pathetic attempt at humor. Although, I give you credit for at least trying. I wasn't diagnosised with pneumonia. Its supposedly a fucking chest virus. Of course, chest viruses fluxuate with the temperature of where you are as well. I hate doctors. Lazy bastards they are nowadays. That actually sounds like a great idea. I get to beat the living hell out of something. ...although, if I did I'd have to<_< "pick up the coinage and forgetting about giving it back", but I'm willing to make such do sacrifices.

Its my sig. I see that jackass. Is there a fucking point?
-
This isn't fucking "new". This is me when I've finally fucking God damned snapped. Well, all the girls who work at McDicks around here actually are quite cute, so meh. Actually, I've widdled enough information that I could probably look up the nearest phone book and find out, but I figure its better to actually ask. But, I digress with my school schedule and shit, I'm in no position to ask a girl out right now. Maybe after I get out of school and get some deadbeat job that pays like $10 an hour.
-
Its actually phenomia that I got about a month ago that's causing me to be this way, but the doctor still fucking declared it a chest virus! This is even after the jackass tells me, "now then Flik, it looks like you've got liquid in your chest which could possibly be phenomia, but there's not enough evidence to proclaim it that. So I'm gonna call it a chest virus and send you home. You should be good in a week." God damned worthless bastard. If I've got phenomia, keep me in the fucking hospital like my sister was. Instead of sending my ass home to basically try going out in -35C weather and feeling like I'm getting stabbed with fucking knives every time I breath in that fucking cold weather. I've been hacking to the point my throat is nearly RAW and the muscles in my fucking back are spasming so bad I'm nearly in tears (this is after being drugged with Robax and Asprin). Oh and its been one fucking week later... Worthless fucking bastard. So, its a little more of I'm fucking pissed off than actually trying to be tough. ...back on topic, please remember my words of wisdom when dealing with McDicks employees. Oh, and if its a cute girl that you end up having take your order, make it also seem like you are trying to get her number as you'll instantly be forgiven by the girl because you are hitting on her. BTW, for most of you single types out there, McDick girls are mostly single, so if you actually want to get the girl's phone number, by all means, shoot for it.
