5/16: Splintering Off In Different Directions
Smues commented on kkktookmybabyaway's blog entry in KK's Korner
I'm guessing Indy 4 will suck, but I'm holding out some slight hope it might be decent, ignoring that perfect ending in the last one issue. Well, I WAS holding out hope anyway. I had hope that if they could avoid Die Hard 4 syndrome (where Bruce Willis is superman and ALL the suspense and tension the other movies had is absent) it could be good, but then I found out Shia LaBeouf was in it so now I KNOW it'll suck. -

I used to absolutely LOVE Real Compton City G's, and I had no idea as a kid that it was a censored version of the real song. As for stupid edits I remember when MTV would playing Gin & Juice they did "Rollin' down the street, smokin' smokin', sippin on gin and juice" -
Liberal college bias, furniture shopping, and sfaJill gets embarrassed
Smues commented on sfaJack's blog entry in Notes From Cubicle 211-A
I did a little over a year at UW and was suprised that I didn't really encounter any 'liberal bias' from my professors. I damn sure did from the students, but not the profs. At EWU I was an accounting major as well and didn't have any problems with any accounting profs, but I did have an English teacher that was quite the hippy. Oh and I guess I did have one at UW as well, because my English teacher there was crazy too. Well, either she was crazy or she was right and I AM a nazi. Either or. -
5/1: Cashing $1200-$10 Million Checks

Damn you and your last 2 digits of your SSN being 20 or below. I've got to wait until sometime next week to get my money and ... not do anything with it either. -
I'm hopeful that Chipper Jones will also be a #1 draft pick that makes the Hall of Fame.

Thanks for that link. The guy I share an office with told me about this this morning but we failed to find an article online. I've listened to Woody & Wilcox a few times and found them to be quite terrible "shock jocks," if you can even call them that. The shitty thing is that they're on a rather good classic rock station, so it's common to be listening to that station in the evening, then turn the radio back on in the morning and get attacked by them. This whole 'controversy' though is a joke. I love how people bring up the abuse native women take and rape statistics and such as if that has ANY relevance to the joke Woody & asshat made. Was it in bad taste? Probably. Was it funny? Absolutely. Is it worth any kind of a protest or mention in the news? Not really. Native women can be upset about it, but that should be about the end of it. The large amount of rapes in Alaskan villages isn't caused by shitty radio hosts making jokes, it happens because the villages tend to have a lot of people living in a small area, usually have 15-25 people per small house, no one has any money, and they're off the road system as well so they're very isolated. Not only are the women getting raped a lot, it's often by a family member. It's sad, sick, and disgusting, but it doesn't have anything to do with some bias against native women. If it were white women in those situations the same thing would be happening. The outrage over this is just so stupid. Oh and I haven't yet heard someone be offended by the old saying like the article mentions. Doesn't mean noone is, but I haven't seen it. And the full thing is that you aren't a real Alaskan until you piss in the Yukon river, screw a native lady, AND kill a bear. Nice of everybody to neglect to mention the bear part, RACISTS. Oh and I had heard originally that what they said was "Piss ON a native lady," so finding out that it was "Piss IN a native lady," made it all the more hilarious. "Please do not piss in our women."

Re: Sean Shannon - Worst Blog Ever He started that I believe in November 2000, right after he flipped out and left Scott Keith high and dry. I haven't read it very much lately, but over the years we've learned that: -He's afraid of the dentist -He was afraid to drive, but finally got over that and got his driver's license -He's 'little miss rebel' -He's a women trapped in a man's body -He still lives with his parents -He's always on a diet -He LOVES Dance Dance Revolution -He went back to school -At school he joined some gay/lesbian campus group -He became president of said gay/lesbian campus group -Within a year everyone in the gay/lesbian campus group hated him -He can't afford a sex change yet -He's very liberal -Tons of other hilarities that I'm forgetting

I think they made the switch this off-season. I have no idea why, but I'm sure it's a conspiracy against devil rays.

I've watched this ppv way more times than is healthy (aka more than once) mainly because of how cool the atmosphere is. If only they had had a real show to go along with the great setting. And man oh man Giant Gonzalez...I would rather watch Khali vs. Hornswoggle in an hour long iron man match then any of his matches ever again. IIRC the re-match at Summerslam was even worse. Well, it didn't have the rag spot, so maybe not. Shame on Undertaker for pulling out the ether soaked rag at KOTR 99, guess WM IX didn't teach him anything. As to the main event, the way it ended was absolutely needed to send the crowd happy at that point after jobbing Bret, but there HAD to have been a better way to book the whole thing, such as Yoko winning at RR and then losing to Bret or Hulk at WM. -
Sadly according to Wikipedia as of July 2006 Atlanta had a population of 486,411 and a metro area population of 5,138,223. Meanwhile the State of Alaska had a total of 670,053 people. I told think we'll be getting the Braves anytime soon

I was a big fan of Hicks when I was in high school and even then I realized what a blowhard he was. I get in the Bill Hicks mood every now and then, but it doesn't last very long.

3/21: Barack Criticism Hits The Wal

I've always said that I'm ok with Walmart the store, and I almost never have problems with their employees (as opposed to say Best Buy, Best Buy, or oh, maybe BEST BUY) but the customers make me hate going to the place. Sure it's great to guess how many people you'll see beating their kids on any given trip to the store, or how much white trash can fit in one aisle, but after awhile it just makes you weep for humanity. -

Yeah I'll be REALLY crying over this one. If bankrupt post office means I don't get three fucking credit cards from Chase PER WEEK then it's a small price to pay. -

“You baby is dead.” Please tell me that wasn't a typo but was actually the title of the Jesus booklet. -
Sad to see the under on the Braves, but I truely have no idea what to expect out of this season from them. Glavine's back but he's old, Smoltz isn't getting any younger, and we got rid of Renteria and Jones. They keep talking about being a playoff team but I'm fearing right around the .500 mark this season. Thoughts?

2/16: Getting (Sorta) Punked At The Checkout Aisle
Smues commented on kkktookmybabyaway's blog entry in KK's Korner
I just got back today from a village where I got hosed on the 'new line opens up' thing. The village AC store has two lines, and only one was open. I was in line behind an old lady buying just a loaf of bread, as the other line is opened and other people go to that. So I wait it out in my line, and it takes about 15 minutes. She was paying with a debit card, and while yes amazingly the store does take credit and debit cards, every village store I've been to that does it takes 2-5 minutes to process. Slow connection to whatever they connect to I guess. And it took FOUR tries for this lady's card to get accepted. I just waited it out, because had I switched lines I know someone ahead of me in that line would have had the same problem. Lines suck. -
Review: Monday Night RAW and WCW Monday Nitro from 6/2/97.

Supposedly Sid shit himself mid match, and 'you can see the chunks!' but I've watched the match many times looking for just that (and I'm still mentally damaged from A. just watching that god awful match and B. watching that god awful match while staring at Sids ass). If only they ahd that match in HD! As for WCW house shows, as I've mentioned before I went to one in mid 2000 during the height of Russo's insanity, and while yeah it sucked MAJOR ass, going to those shows was COMPLETELY worth it for the train wreck factor. -

I tend to stick with my line even if it's slow because I just know if I move that'll be the new slow line. Or other annoyances will occur. Like the time I was waiting in line and a cashier in the next line over opened her line and told me to bring my stuff over. I had a loaded shopping cart full of a few weeks worth of groceries, and before I could load all of it onto the belt some bitch comes up behind me and puts down the divider thingy and starts putting her shit down on the end. So I of course don't have room to put all of my shit on the belt now and as the belt moves it gives me less and less space. Whore. At least I made sure to take as longggggggggggggggggg as possible just to piss her off. Now that I think about it I treat checkout lines like roads. I tend to stick to my lane unless there's something that's going to take a REALLY long time in my lane, and I don't begrudge the people that are behind me that switch to the faster lane, but don't fucking think you're getting back in in front of me if the lane you switched to turns out to be slower. -
2/15: You Thought I Was Kidding About Mal Voyage? (Part II)
Smues commented on kkktookmybabyaway's blog entry in KK's Korner
The 'someone else is at our gate' shit has happened to me a couple of times. I think it only happens when I have a tight connection. If I have 3 hours before my next flight we get right to our gate. If I have 20 minutes then our gate is blocked and we get to wait for it to open. And luggage not making the connection happens quite often to me as well. It's not bad if you can get to the lost luggage counter before the rest of the crowd, but it sucks when you have to wait in line for an hour. -

He also initially gave a thumps up to WM15, then sobered up and realized what a putrid piece of shit it was. In the late 90's he was drunk during a LOT of his reviews, and upon a future sober viewing he'd often re-do his rant and the ratings would change drastically. Edit: Oh and man was I PISSED at the finish of the Last Man Standing match, and yet I knew it was coming. In Russo never ending quest to SWERVE us and be UNPREDICTABLE, he was becoming more and more predictable with every passing show. What did surprise me was that Austin won the match. I thought for sure he'd lose again just because Vince Russo hates us and wants us to suffer for his sins. -
I'd be down for that. Is it very difficult to figure out the program?

Is High Crimes the one where Judd's military husband is accused of war crimes and Freeman helps her? I enjoyed watching it until the end, but the ending was so awful it ruined the movie and prevented any repeat watching from me.
