  1. Snuka pinned him in a Fijian Strap Match in '84.
  2. Main Event star getting injured right before Survivor Series . . . I think we've seen this enough times to tell who'll end up as champion at the end of the ppv. Whether he's on Smackdown or not . . . WWEELLLLLL, IT'S THE BIG SHOOOOWWWWWWW!!!!!
  3. I loved the visual of Eddie in near tears as he gives a nice, warm hug to . . . the hood of his lowrider.
  4. Thanks for the recap. Was the Bulldogs/Harts match the one from Best of WWF Vol 3? I've always wanted to see that match in full rather than in highlight form like it was on the video.
  5. Boy, what an unselfish trooper.
  6. I'll throw some jobbers at ya: Jose-Luis Rivera Barry O Iron Mike Sharpe Barry Horowitz Jim Powers Salvatore Bellomo
  7. And the guy that'll probably suffer most of all is big bad Rhino.
  8. I'm not certain if it'll go last or not, but it's being pushed as the major draw of the show as of now with it getting two shows of hype per week.
  9. Does anyone remember the NFL This Morning? It ran on FSN for ?two? years from about 2001-2003 . . . not positive on the years. Chris Myers hosted w/ Marv Levy, Deacon Jones, someone else, and Jay Mohr as sprinkling in some comedy here and there w/ segments that'd be ripped off later by Kenny Mayne. It was filmed where they film BDSSP and the format was very simple yet effective. No one got on my nerves and it made me want to be up by 10am so I didn't miss any of it. They'd even preview the Fox Pregame show by having JB and the gang give predictions on the games. Then, the next year, they completely changed the format. They're now in a trendier set. Michael Irvin and Tony Siragusa joined the show and I wept. All of the charm of the show was immediately crushed as the show became a shouting contest rather than a semi-intellegent discussion. Needless to say, I didn't stop to check if the show continued the year after.
  10. Here's the problem with all these new guys on Raw/SD: They debut and beat some jobbers for 3-4 weeks. If they're deemed as over, they "upset" some solid midcarders for 3-4 weeks. Desperate for fresh matchups, the only recourse WWE has is to start letting them rub elbows with the main eventers. WWE feels if they let the new, fresh "over" guys spin their wheels in the midcard, they won't be able to strike when the iron is "hot". What they need to do is insert the new guys in some actual storylines w/ the undercard guys that will occupy their time long enough to keep the newbie fresh but not making him mow through virtually the entire roster. I realize they did this w/ Bobby Lashley by having him feud w/ Simon Dean but after 2 weeks, it was all over and now he's in the SurSer ME. So, the point is kinda moot there.
  11. Batista would never accept the belt to just be handed to him after recovering from injury. Eddy could just beat the snot out of him during a tag match or something.
  12. Randy Orton on AJ Styles. Pure class. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, that's pretty damn funny.
  13. Batista (assuming he misses significant time) will be missed. He was one of, if not the only character that actually acted like an adult and not a goofy, immature adolescent.
  14. How are the edits on the final Nitro? Are all the themes butchered up or are the majority of them in there? Thanks.
  15. Which, if the date is correct, is also on 1986's Best of the WWF Volume 7. EDIT: . . . errrr, I meant Volume 3. Volume 7 has a rematch from MSG w/ an actual finish.
  16. I don't mean this to be a wiseass . . . but what's the purpose of doing a simulated press conference? I mean if it was supposed to be a humorous spoof, that's one thing, but it wasn't. Really really bizarre.
  17. Piper: Ya gonna eat it for the rest of your life?!?!?!
  18. ^^^ Especially, before Nancy Travis joined Becker.
  19. A.M. RAW BABY!!! Of course I'm at work Saturday mornings and can't watch it. But if I could, I would. My intention to watch should count in the ratings. . . . Ok, I probably wouldn't watch it but maybe the remote would get stuck on USA.
  20. Kinda on the same wavelength, does anyone know why they can refer to ECW in Forever Hardcore, but in Hardcore Homecoming from Philly, they had to can the crowd noise everytime they chanted "ECW"?
  21. I meant bungle up their chances of winning the titles (in kayfabe). Not bungle up maneuvers or spots. Sorry for the confusion.
  22. Right but it was a little weird that you wouldn't be able to do that on their own player. Especially since you're able to on their Heat/Velocity/ect shows.
  23. Basically, for a little more than the price of one ppv ($39.95), you can have all 200+ matches at your disposal. Not a bad one time fee. Plus, it gives ya a reason to look forward to the beginning of the month. Slightly OT: I asked one of the support guys why there is no FF/REW on the 24/7 Viewer screen and he didn't know. Seems odd it wouldn't be on it.
  24. Yeah, some stuff looks really grainy fullscreen while other matches look A-OK. Doesn't seem to have a whole lot to do w/ age. The Survivor Series 90 match looks like crap fullscreen while the TuesTex match looks great.
  25. I REALLY want to believe they're just testing Shelton to see if he's a "team player" by jobbing him to anyone that can execute a rollup while holding onto a rope. But, even I know better.
