I've said it before but Shelton Benjamin is nothing more than this generation's Tito Santana (circa late 1989-1993) . . . - Both are former I-C and Tag Champions which bring them credibility - Both are solid to potentially great in-ring performers - Both have good promo skills . . . not great, but pretty good - Most of all, neither have a hope in hell of winning a consequential match

Was this suicide done as "comedy"? Or was it played off to be semi-serious?

He's got an "Ultimate Insiders" shoot interview that he did w/ Ed Ferrara conducted by Wade Keller. Basically, he blames his WCW downfall to the fact that he was never given a formal list of things he could and could not do on the air. Rather, Standards & Practices would change the rules on him week to week. He also defends putting the title on Arquette as WCW received a free 1-page spot in USA Today w/ Arquette holding the WCW Title w/ his wife and another celeb. He also said it got people talking (for better or worse . . . obviously worse).

I wonder what The Real W.C.W. thinks of all this. -

I wonder what Bobby Eaton was thinking. Probably "Thank heavens Terry is fielding this one." -

Yeah, it was Shotgun. They showed a few minutes of it the next morning on SuperStars. The only guy I remember being in it for sure other than The Rock was the Brooklyn Brawler. I'm sure the ring was littered w/ DOA, Boricuas, ect. -
who? me? Not necessarily. Limbaugh was on the radio and after seeing the topic, I was reminded of that whole fiasco last year.

Have you ever looked at Donovan McNabb as a black quarterback? Ever?

I am still in shock HHH isn't in the chamber match. Even though there's a natural matchup w/ the Big Show lined up for NYR, I wouldn't be suprised if HHH took out Kane with the sledgehammer or something to get himself in the EC.

Even more fun when Scott Steiner would do it.

Does anyone know what a "hornyacker" is? I saw an old Nitro during the Powers that Be era where Russo called Armstrong a hornyacker.

That would be the Great American Bash 1992 . . . never saw the full match though.

That match had a depressing ending. One would figure Spike would go out in a blaze of glory like at GAC2000. Instead, he was anticlimatically put to sleep.
-
Plus, the angle of Awesome knocking Spike's girlfriend's teeth out was fantastic.

At the time, I honestly thought the 2 favorites to win the 1998 Royal Rumble were Kurrgan and Owen Hart. I figured Austin was far too obvious to actually win it. Also, what were the horrible circumstances behind The Jackyl's departure?

Sort of branching off a previous question, but how did WCW convince Hogan to drop the belt at FB99? He just changed from Hollywood Hogan to Hulk Hogan and I'm sure he felt he was fresh for another extended title run. But Sting won the title after wacking him w/ the bat.

Oh, it hasn't been that bad for Benjamin. I mean, gee whiz, he just beat Matt Striker via countout on Internet Heat a couple months ago. There's no satisfying you rowdy online rasslin fans.

Yeah, I'll be saving my money for . . . oh darnit, I'm out of Trident. Better go buy a crate of it.

Who came up with that gimmick/angle?

Maybe they didn't want to tarnish Gordy's name by having him put on stinker matches. Stick him under the mask and protect his name while he collects a few last major paychecks. Oh hell, I don't know. -
Charlie Charlie Charlie!!! Browns 17 . . . Bengals 13.
-
I honestly thought the same thing.

Charlie Charlie Charlie!!! Browns 14 . . . Bengals 7.

Charlie Charlie Charlie!!! Browns 7 . . . Bengals 0. Just wanted to get the celebrating out of the way now before the Bengals reel off 35 straight points.

If not for a copout finish, I would hope Strike Force (ch) vs Hart Foundation (MSG 11/24/87) would be on the list. I still think it should be regardless. A nice, hot match w/ 2 face-in-peril segements and also features my favorite Hart plunge into the guardrail as the Harts showed that they may have illegally switched one too many times. My only slight complaint is that the match looked to be worked w/ the Harts as the champions and Strike Force as challengers and not the other way around. SF was fighting like they were desperate while HF was a little too calm to come across like champions who just fumbled the belts a few weeks prior. Monsoon and Bockwinkle did the commentary and really did a great job focusing on the match. Just an overall marvelous match throughout. -
Did anyone else have almost a blurred/dull picture during the in-ring shots on SD?
