I plan on writing a note for people to find with me, should I have some kind of stroke or heartattack or something by the end of all of them. I mean, that's a LOT of pot for one dude to smoke in 13 hours, and ROTJ already makes me an emotional wreck for a few minutes after it's over, so I can only imagine how much it'd be amplified by the addition of ROTS to the series and, well, all that THC.

If he could just put on a match I cared about that didn't involve ladders or gimmickry, then I'd be totally behind him. As of now though he's just a vanilla worker with a sleeping giant-like charisma, and that giant done been woken up.

I hesitantly call Star Wars science fiction. It's really just a mythic fantasy set in a technology-heavy setting. Science fiction to me is Star Trek and 2001 and Solaris and stuff like that, material that examines how people behave and interact in a futuristic setting and the changes it brings.

Sounds like, um, pretty much any dictator ever. Besides, the Clone Wars were already alluded to in ANH anyway. The New Order of Palpatine that was referenced so many times in EU stuff and whatnot has been semi-canon for ten years plus. Star Wars has a lot of themes and subtexts in it, but that's not really one of them.

After Episode III is out on home video, I'm buying a half and watching all six of them in a row. I can't wait.

I love the idea of a culture trying to be as artificial and greedy as possible without any kind of pretensions. And except for the odd way some bodies looked back then, women were hot. No surprise I loved the "Call on Me" video so much. All told, I'd rather our current society were to suddenly revert back to the 80s with current technology and all that. Whenever a bar or a club has an 80s night, it's awesome.

There really is little difference between alcoholic prohibition and the current laws on marijuana. Ecstasy was legal and a prescribed substance until the early 60s, and that shit's much worse for you. And if marijuana is supposedly soooo unacceptable, just legalize it and let those who don't want to do it not do it. Legalization arguments aren't advocating shoving a massive J into everyone's mouths. It's just like alcohol and tobacco. If you don't like it or find it totally unacceptable, you don't do it. We really need to get off of our puritanical high horse. And another swing and a miss by Czech.
