  1. This trade has brought me hours of amusement: one of the moderators on the Kings message board I spend most of my time at has a source who broke the story of the Kings being involved in this trade when it was still being reported on ESPN and such as a three-team deal... she reported Skinner was being traded just after the trade deadline expired, and had people crawling out of the woodwork to refute her, only to look like idiots when it turned out she was right all along... Even a guy who I'm told has a radio show on KHTK (and posts on the board under a psuedonym, of course) got caught looking foolish... And, most of the people who were refuting her I think are idiots, anyway, so... good times...
  2. That's just good stuff right there...
  3. Say what now?
  4. Maybe he is... he is masked after all so no one knows if there is someone "known" under the mask. (not that I get the Mak Francis reference but still) If Mak were to come back as a ringer, I should hope that it was Dustin... Of course, if that really is the Mak under there, that'd be awesome, too.
  5. Bruce, thanks for the feedback: I tried to write the beginning of my match so as to imply that they could have gone directly from the opening promo into the first match, and thereby have cut to commercial in what would have otherwise been an "overly long" first segment. Yeah, when Jay asked me to have him come down in observe, he wanted me to imply that he might have been scouting either WC or Griffon, so I regret that I didn't pull that off properly. Yeah, that was kind of weak, but there's only so much selling that you can do in 4000 words... See first comment. Technically, WC didn't outpunch him, and it's not like they were trading punches out there. WC wasn't throwing bombs, he was peppering a bigger, slower man with jabs that he wasn't quick enough to block; what's so unrealistic about that? And WC didn't actually knock Arch down earlier; it doesn't count if the ropes are involved... Eh, I was writing with the mentality of "show opener," not "MOTY candidate." Not an excuse, I guess, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Huh... I used to be half-decent at that; I've written a couple of decent matches against Sean Davis, Janus and Va'aiga. I guess I'm just out of practice... Again, thanks for the feedback.
  6. Joe Peters is a whore for ratings...
  7. Was Pete supposed to be back doing PBP for this show? I thought he was given an indefinite leave of absence?
  8. And, for the first time all season long, the Kings are out of last place in the Pacific Division. Hey... gotta start somewhere, right?
  9. Guess.
  10. I was raised Southern Baptist, but I haven't been to church in years. My mom is Southern Baptist, and my pops was raised Catholic, but rejected the religion when he got older (my biological father is also Southern Baptist).
  11. This is the real Wildchild. I think CC is doing a wonderful job. Buy Justice and Rule Hoodies. Keep writing matches. There is no revolution. Nothing to see here. Move along...
  12. I did; we don't have an arcade there anymore, but when it was taken down, I was in first by a mile.
  13. That's especially noticeable on the non-Mario version: once you get past level 60 or so, there's no noticeable speed increase at all, and it's just a question of how long you can/want to continue to concentrate. I still don't like the Mario version, though; the exclamation points are extremely distracting to me, and I don't know why, and I'm not used to the color scheme, either. I keep getting the L-pieces inverted.
  14. Damn chaosrage, you almost had me there for a minute...
  15. But Gasol doesn't play center; apparently they re-did the selection process last year, whereby at least one of the reserves has to actually be a center.
  16. Unless I'm mistaken, the East reserves have already been announced as Billups, Bosh, Carter, Hamilton, Pierce, B. Wallace and R. Wallace.
  17. Yeah, I guess I'm just kinda backwards; I'm like the TokyoX of promo writing... only without the sense of humor and unintentional comedy factor...
  18. Yeah, sorry about that; Jay indicated to me that he might not be able to get something in for the show, but I can't write promos for shit, and couldn't come up with anything.
  19. ... And everything I suck at; no thanks. EDIT - :: scans the show :: Fuck, you mean that wasn't a joke?
  20. Kevin Martin is shaping up to be a nice little player.
  21. If it's that big a deal, just reset the scores. I don't care one way or the other, and it's not like I couldn't hit 4M in Tetris again... Hell, I went over 3M three times last night; if it were possible for the high scores list to record more than one by the same user, I'd have the whole thing on lock...
  22. Hey, I would have been perfectly happy for W&D to be a "custom-made" tag team, but my partner insisted on suffering under some delusion that he was good enough to be Heavyweight Champion or something ( ), and kept wandering off to wrestle singles and/or disappearing for weeks at a time, so I kept getting stuck as a singles writer myself. And now he's retired and I'm not, and I am disinclined to break in another partner, so there's not much alternative. If I'd had my say, W&D would have came and went as a team, and never split at all, either the first or the second time.
  23. I might have picked it up... and I might have zoned out after trying to read all those words... EDIT - And too bad about TKO, probably the most interesting concept for a tag team since the House of Todd; I was digging you guys.
