His Plastic Ono Band is solid as a whole, but the two bonus tracks tacked at the end of the 2000 reissue completely wreck the mood of the album. And they aren't even that good, anyway!

And people tend to romanticize Lennon because of his death. Sure, within the Beatles, I prefer his songs to McCartney's, but what of Lennon's solo career? Largely unexceptional outside of one album and a handful of other songs (none of which are "Imagine," by the way).

Paul McCartney wrote some good songs, which, I guess, is easy to forget due to his crimes against humanity over the last 35 years.

Jacksonville's biggest non-Limp Bizkit band is Evergreen Terrace; from what I've been told, they're relatively well known outside of here. Not my cup of tea, but their fans are a bunch of mooks, anyway. I know little else about this town's local bands. The few indie acts I've seen are total generica.

I got some pussy through myspace, automatically making it a step above any of the other like-minded sites. Though Friendster did score me some head.

I saw this terrible local nu metal band last night. The singer had a keyboard in front of him for their entire set, but he didn't use it until the last song, and then it was only to play friggin' chopsticks. I wanted to grab him by his pink and black hair and run his face through a window.

What an oddly bitter thing to say.

Granted, some parts of this city are prone to flooding, but I've always lived on fairly safe ground. Same goes for electricity; one of the storms last year knocked out power for a few areas in Jax for upwards of two weeks, whereas my neighborhood only lost it for roughly 45 minutes.

Again, Jax's armpit status pays off.

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the new Animal Collective yet. The more traditional song structures are a welcome change, but Feels still isn't as instantly engaging as Sung Tongs.
