  1. This restaurant a few doors down from the bar I was at was giving away free tickets to tonight's GNR show. They got in 60 (!) of them early this afternoon; I asked how many they'd given away in the ensuing hours and was told about 15. Poor Axl.
  2. Getting pleasantly toasted with some beer brought back from the local. I can still hear some kids running around outside, which is odd, considering it's dark now.
  3. I went to my local with a book and the dog during prime trick-or-treating hours. Haven't dealt with a single kid this evening.
  4. That was beautiful, Gene.
  5. That's it, I'm starting a thread in Site Feedback about this.
  6. Hm.
  7. What kind of beer? Why didn't they just give out hard cider, instead? I haven't much gotten into fruity beers. It's either too tart for my liking (a lot of lambics) or just plain blah (most ciders, assorted other fruit-flavors). There's probably some smallish microbrew cider out there that'll convert me, but I rarely bother with ciders, anyway.
  8. Wait, was leena talking about the Milky password? Because....
  9. leena would be one of my favorite people here if I didn't think she believed everything she posted.
  10. You know, if you type out your password on the screen, it comes out as *s. **********
  11. I imagine it's easy to hate ITAOTS.
  12. Toshiaki Koala got the joke wrong.
  13. Charles Mingus - Blues & Roots Thelonious Monk - Monk's Dream And have you gotten into much of Miles Davis's fusion stuff? If not, start with In a Silent Way and proceed chronologically from there. You may or may not hit a bump once you reach On the Corner, depending on your taste. (Side note: I happen to dislike a lot of fusion, but—given that you at least like the Weather Report—you'd very likely get something out of Herbie Hancock's Headhunters.)
  14. That was just a special post I made for you and me and whoever else saw it.
  15. Look, I don't give two shits about the socially-retarded poonanny that started this thread, but I do have a problem with Mole bowing in deference to some faceless, soulless, pulseless adminbot. Mole, place your eight-inch python down on the virtual table and tell that "Mike" what's what.
  16. Who has the bigger cock, Mole? You or Mike? I'm betting it's you, so don't let that pencil dick scare you.
  17. 50 pounds of cocaine.
  18. Wait, so she really wanted Milky to fuck her until she screamed like an Indian? He's flattered, I'm sure.
  19. I hold Discipline in such high regard now that I can't say any of its counterparts on AL are superior, though maybe I like "Indiscipline" a tad bit more on the latter, if only for Belew's more frantic vocal delivery.
  20. I don't know if I should be flattered and admire his dedication, or be creeped out.
  21. Absent Lovers renders Three of a Perfect Pair superfluous, wouldn't you say? On AL, every song from ToaPP is superior to the studio version. It's not even close. An aside re: ToaPP, I like the Tony Levin mix of "Sleepless" better than any of the songs on the proper album, including the main version of "Sleepless" on there. Anyone know the story behind the Levin mix? I know the other two remixes were for radio airplay and the dancefloor, respectively, but what's the deal with Levin's?
  22. This is all you had to say. Though, you should've dropped "clearly," because it really wasn't very clear.
  23. The last five years have been Nobel-caliber for King, I guess.
  24. I'm going to be a predatory college professor.
  25. Now that I've spent some time with Three of a Perfect Pair, I can almost—almost!—agree with the assertion that Absent Lovers is the definitive statement on the 80s line-up of KC. Holding me back from full-on agreeing is that I'll take Discipline over AL and any other Crimson release—hell, I'll take it over most albums by anyone; I feel that strongly about it now (I can't believe I ever prefered Beat over this). Both the songs from Beat and Three of a Perfect Pair benefit from the live setting (particularly the limp ToaPP).
