I'm glad my "Career-ending injuries" wish list contained Deion if he should ever decided to step on the field again...

I "hear" that the "Smear Merchant" looks surprisingly like Al Franken...

*Wonders how many false-positives the bomb dogs will get off of these idiots soaking their clothes in explosive-scented material... and how many concussions each of these guys will receive as a result.*

If they did that, then they'd have to do a button for George Sr. that says "Don't puke on the Japanese Prime Minister" and one for Clinton that says "Don't fuck the intern."

How much is this game and what places carry it? I may pick this up, although I've got two older election games already... the Election Game from the mid-80s and the *ack* Doonesbury Election Game from the mid-90s. Unfortunately, the rules on the last one did NOT allow me to run an independant ticket of Jesse Helms and Jesse Jackson, thus alienating 100% of the country without even trying.

Heinz' fortune, real or inheritable, is in the BILLIONS range. Considering that her hubby was also born with a silver spoon in his mouth, him talking about helping lower classes is laughable. Edwards, OTOH, has room to talk considering his background. I just mentioned him earlier because he's still pretty rich to be talking about the mythical "they" who should be paying a bigger share of the taxes.

I think the bigger problem is what if there were more qualified people who didn't get the job because Golan was in his afffair with the Gov. I don't doubt he might have some qualifications (It'd be pretty hard to spin it past everyone if he had no skills to speak of), but better people may have been passed up because of their relationship. According to some sources, the applicants for the job included the former head of the FBI, so it's not like this guy was even CLOSE to the most qualified applicant.

Anyone ELSE find it ironic that three of the people yelling the most about how the rich are BUTT-surfing the poor (Kerry, Edwards, and Ted Kennedy) are three of the RICHEST people in politics? Yes, I KNOW this is changing the subject a bit, but I find it laughable that Kerry is trying to pass himself off as an average joe when he was educated in European boarding schools and is married to a multi-billionaire.

The main differences that I remember between the book and the film are that a lot more of the scams and robberies are covered in detail, including the Lufthansa heist and the fallout that was seen during the "Leila" instrumental. Oh, there was also the whole Boston College basketball point-shaving scandal that Henry and Jimmy were involved with... They had three or four of the team's best players in their pocket but still couldn't make it work well.

You think the Minnesota Vikings will sign her? I wonder if she likes gays. Well, she WAS married to Johnny Be Badd...

Click here for the source, the Baton Rouge Advocate This is a big step for the state of Louisiana and Baton Rouge in particular, as it has gotten the first conviction on one of two serial killers caught within the past two years. Lee is accused of killing at least seven women and attempting to rape and kill another. DNA evidence has found that the chances of the killler being anyone but him to be about 12 trillion to one, as Lee has some VERY distinctive genetic markers. The second serial killer, Sean Vincent Gillis, plead not guilty when arraigned earlier this month. Gillis had been linked by DNA to several murders when a warrant was issued for his arrest and he confessed to a total of eight murders once he was in custody. The only setback will be if Lee can successfully argue that his court-appointed defense attorney was incompetent, although pending cases in St. Martinville and Baton Rouge should provide further convictions on Lee and a possible death sentence.

Everytime I read this thread, I think of the part in Necessary Roughness where the second-string QB is in the game cowering behind the ref and yelling "BLOW THE WHISTLE! BLOW THE WHISTLE!" That Brock-Huard photo certainly backs up that viewpoint for me.

32, making me a split between Jack Kemp and Bob Dole.

40% personal, 70% economic, meaning that I'm a right-leaning centrist with more Libertarian leanings than Statist leanings.

I'd love to see one of these for Albert Belle who is probably the most controversial HOF candidate coming up in the next few years. Great player, great numbers, HUGE amount of controversy off the field.

All of those got pretty ghey by the end except Hero Quest (Quest for Glory) and Leisure Suit Larry... King's Quest peaked with #6, as #7 (Princeless Bride) was godawful. Police Quest never really recovered from the transition from the Sonny Bonds games (1-3) to the Darryl Gates entries (4, SWAT, etc.) Space Quest hit the shitter BIG TIME with #6. Quest For Glory 5 was REALLY good, partially because the original creative team remained involved with it and it tied together story points from the first four games. It was hella-fun too. Leisure Suit Larry- Love For Sail held up REALLY well compared to the previous games in the series. It's best compared with #6, Shape Up Or Slip Out, which was a return to traditional Larry after the weird spy-related nonsense in #5 which was funny but not really in the Larry tradition.

Bush is right about one thing... Bin Ladin isn't important right now. Bin Ladin is hiding out in Pakistan or Afghanistan with very little contact with Al Qaeda. He's just a figurehead at this point, so getting him may make us happy and hurt Al Qaeda's morale, but it won't have a direct effect on their operations. Al Zarkawi (spelled incorrectly) is the BIG prize at the moment because he is in charge of the organization right now. We get him and most of the other top lieutenants, we shut down Al Qaeda's big-op capability and cut off a lot of the funding for their recruitment and small-level activities.

I'm surprised that having an owner act as baseball's commissioner didn't get Congress to revoke the sport's anti-trust exemption... There's still hope of that, though, considering how the details of just HOW Milwaukee got the stadium have emerged.

W and Gore appeared on a special right before Election Day 2000 lampooning themselves.
-
This would be interesting, if only because Clinton is typically referred to as a "notorious bad-sport holdout" when it comes to major politicians lampooned on SNL. Bob Dole, Al Gore, George HW Bush, George W Bush, candidate Steve Forbes and others have appeared on SNL after being made fun of, but Clinton never accepted any of their invitations.

Winslow embodied all that was wrong with the Miami football program last year, as he pouted at a newsconference, undermined his team's quarterback (Brock Berlin), compared himself to a soldier and football as a war, and generally acted like an immature little shit. Good player or no, that's not the kind of person I'd want playing for me. That's just asking for problems of the Keyshawn Johnson variety.

If this one proves to have legs, Shelby should be moved off of the Intelligence Committee at the absolute least. -
Kobe Bryant Roger Clemens Deion Sanders (if he ever gets back on the field) Keyshawn Johnson Kellen Winslow (That "I'm a soldier!" tirade pissed me off to no end) Brock Berlin Josh Booty (if anyone signs him as a free agent)

Bill Gates' money is burning a hole in his wallet

I'd love Nintendo to become a 3rd party developer for the next gen of consoles, but not by becoming a part of Microsoft. If they take a bath on the next system, they may consider doing just that, much like Sega did after the Dreamcast got blown out of the water by the PS2. -
It's about time Carter's career came back down to his talent level... This IS a guy who had a QB rating just above spiking the ball on every down at one point.
