42% of voters favor impeachment

Now take off. -
My sister has seasons 1-4 on DVD. I watch them now and then, and reruns on ABC Family at 4 if I'm not in the mood for Around The Horn or going outside.
-
TV is for gay people.
-
Sacramento has supported the team so well though, and is the Arco Arena really THAT bad?
-
San Diego isn't getting the Clippers because they don't have a suitable venue. Stern wouldn't let them move from Staples to the SDSA, it's old and small. San Diego would have to build a state of the art facility to lure them back, and that's not likely given how the Chargers are not sure if they'll have a new stadium. That said, the Clippers should move to Anaheim anyway. Kansas City is angling for an NBA tenant, but the Kings might go there. Who knows. NBA sure has had a lot of relocation lately. Funny thing is, they never change the names of the teams.

In a crucial moment of a tied game in extra innings, you intentionally walk the batter to bring up a) the catcher b) the pitcher c) the best hitter on the team If you picked c, you must manage the Chicago Cubs.

Cordero blows the save on the North Side, Aramis Ramirez belts a two-run homer in the bottom of the 9th with 2 out to tie the game.

I don't have a problem with gays having a channel. I have a problem with a channel that consists of Noah's Arc, a comedy about a group of African-American gay men living in Santa Monica; the reality series My Fabulous Gay Wedding, which features a mix of love stories and party-planning fiascos; Momentum, a documentary series chronicling the stories of gay rugby players, transgender actresses, and teens with same-sex parents; and the first-ever telecast of The 16th Annual GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) Media Awards. EDIT: Also, critically acclaimed gay- and lesbian-themed movies, such as Moulin Rouge, The Birdcage, Six Degrees of Separation and Mommie Dearest.

I've never had to read a book at such a deliberate pace. I usually blow through novels, but I feel like with this one, I've really gotta make sure I absorb every single word.
-
Oh I just realized I never finished Vernon God Little. I started that on New Year's Eve and put it on the shelf when I found out the only reason it was recommended to me by a friend was because Val Emmich recommended it to her.

Nick Twisp (main protagonist/narrator in YiR) and Hal Incandenza are both impossibly precocious and have vocabularies so large, that even I had to consult a thesaurus a few times. A lot of big words just for the sake of using big words. I can't tell yet, but if IJ involves wholly implausible plotlines (in YiR, Nick starts a fire that destroys a bunch of restaurants in downtown Berkeley and enrolls at his girlfriend's school somewhere else as a girl and is never found out), that would be another similarity. Both characters seem to come from very strange families, though the Incandenzas are probably a lot better off than the Twisps, who aren't rich and quirky, rather poor and pathetic. IJ doesn't seem as horny as YiR so far, though. I dunno. I'm just like 50 pages in. Half the 500-page book is a sesquipedalian sex scene, I swear. You could check it out if you want, I enjoyed it when I read it two summers ago.

I think they'll be on the fringe of contention in September. They'll try their damnedest to pull the wild card, but there will be too many teams to pass. That's my prediction, at least.

Oh, those Minor League teams and their kooky ideas

Unfortunately, the All-Star Game will count. -
So what does that make Scott Boras? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not that familiar with the exploits of Scott Boras. I do know that Rosenhaus and the Brothers Poston are turd burglars. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Scott Boras is on another plane when it comes to asshole agents. He's the worst.

Why does Terrell Owens emphasize the first syllable of his name rather than the second? That's what I want to know.
-
Well Mr. .236 Leadoff Man Corey Patterson, who hasn't gotten a hit all series, can't try to draw a walk and grounds out to first to lose the game. Thanks a lot.

Hey check it out, the bullpen fucked up another close game for the Cubs. Granted, Maddux was no great shakes today, but the game was still in reach with the wind blowing out. Now they're down 10-5 to the Brewers. I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to send Mike Remlinger up to face a lefty, but they did.
-
So he'll fit right in?

Hey Inc, I just picked up Infinite Jest this evening. Looks like this should keep me busy. EDIT: Yeah, this is going to take me a while indeed. This feels like an intensified Youth In Revolt; I don't know if you read that one, though.
-
Yeah I realized that when I saw the clip. I was listening to Bob Uecker do the game and he made it sound like Burnitz got home on a sac fly. As for why FSN Milwaukee didn't have the game, I have no idea. I thought maybe channel 24 would have the game, but lo and behold the game wasn't televised at all. Weird. You'd think these days that every game would be carried.
-
Yeah Bill Hall really does a number on us. Also, half his name is the letter L. Bullpen blew the win for Wood, it's 2-2 in the bottom of the ninth. EDIT: and Burnitz gets home on a Hollandsworth sac fly to win their fourth in a row. w00t.

I don't feel like he was talking to me, so I'm relatively unfazed by the situation.
-
Man, am I the only person who isn't SHOCKED AND OFFENDED AS A FAN with all this? Jeremy Roenick got pissed off and ran his mouth. Stop the f'n presses. Maybe if it was, you know, anyone who doesn't have a history of being a loudmouthed ass, and wasn't taken out of context by ESPN, I'd be upset.

Joe Borowski was designated for assignment today. Tough decision, as he really did a damn good job hurrying back from his injury, but Dempster really owns that closer spot right now.

Why don't you just suck his dick already, Barron.
