Marriage penalty has gotta go. [ignorant slob mode]Isn't marriage ENOUGH of a penalty? Bah-zing![/ism] Death tax ought to go, too.
-
You present a better point than I can, Loss. I'm just clinging to tradition here.
-
I'm annoyed by these statements: way to go america, way to go Ignorance. This was the Democratic Party's election to win and they blew it with a piss-poor nominee. A man of the people doesn't go to boarding school in Switzerland. This isn't ignorant America's fault. This is an ignorant Democratic Party's fault.

What are you, the liberal MikeSC?
-
Precisely. I have a question. If you are not gay and it does not affect you, then why do you care? Name one way legalizing gay marriage will affect your life. It won't affect me, personally, but just as an ideal, I cling to the fact that a marriage is between a man and a woman. It's what I've always known and it's what I believe to be true. If gay couples want to have the benefits they want that come with being a couple, they should have them. But I just don't want to call it a marriage.

Also, a lot of people still may have reservations about electing a Catholic. I don't think they SHOULD, because the threat of the Pope ruling America is a joke, but people still may feel that way.
-
I'm glad that it turned out this way. I'm a mainline Protestant, and I just don't think this is the way it ought to be. Civil unions, fine by me, just keep it in the city clerk's office and don't call it a marriage. The argument that "oh yeah, like you STRAIGHT people don't ruin the sanctity of marriage? psyeah right! hah!" is tiring. I'm sure gays are just as capable of screwing up marriages as heterosexuals are.

Plus, Americans are stupid: The Whip? What's a Whip? Sounds a little too kinky for me. I don't want no leather queers in my White House Whip = Second in command of a party within a chamber of Congress The Whip, traditionally, is the party's enforcer. Dick Cheney was in this position in 1988 before Bush Sr. appointed him to the Cabinet. I know what a Whip is, it's his job to keep the party on the same page and not crossing over.

Well, it depends who they (and the Democrats run). If it's Hillary vs. Rudy, good god. Rudy Giuliani might be too moderate to appeal to the whole base, but who knows. It's him or Frist, I think, but legislators don't quite make the best Presidents. Rudy's pro-gay at a time when that seems to be the Republicans football issue which guarantees the evangelicals would think twice. The choice is McCain: Moderate, loved by moderates. McCain would have a better chance at winning than say DeLay who would only appeal to the party's extremes Tom DeLay knows better than to run for the Presidency... His history as the Republican Whip would be used against him, as he was pretty much the party's enforcer in the House. Plus, Americans are stupid: The Whip? What's a Whip? I dislike her for carpetbagging. But don't worry--I feel the same about Alan Keyes. I don't. I dislike Keyes because he's a moronc, gay-bashing, useless slug. Carpetbagging is the least of his problems -=Mike ...The Dems are trying to portray this as "OH was a total fuck-up and that's why Bush won"... Oh all of that too, but I wanted to keep it brief.
-
Am I nuts for predicting the Republicans in 2008 barring a major collapse of epic proportions?
-
CBS says Kerry concedes

Oh Mother, I can feel the soil falling over my head And as I climb into an empty bed, oh well. Enough said. I know it's over. Still I cling, I don't know where else I can go

I told you --- the MSM's "impartiality" is dead due to this election. -=Mike Now, Bush is leading New Mexico with 52-48 with 97% of all precincts reporting, but it is still too close to call, and we cannot yet project New Mexico for George W. Bush. It's 10 on the East Coast and polling on the West Coast is just about to close, where we can safely say that California will go to John Kerry. Let's keep this fact in mind: Pennsylvania is closer than Ohio. -=Mike Then why has nobody mentioned this, and Penn has been long called for Kerry? Something's up

I really think they've learned their lesson with spending and it'll go down this time.
-
Uhm, what? Have you looked at Congress' spending record lately? With nothing to fear, Bush will shakedown these guys for even more money, and they'll gladly hand out provided he signs their spending bills to blow cash on everyone's pet project to help boost their image in their home region come 2006. I think they know that things have to be different this time around. Much less spending now. We're gonna see tax cuts, energy reform, tort reform, some good Supreme Court appointments...I think we're in for a good four years.
-
So who will be the Minority Leader now with Tom Daschle gone? This Melissa Bean lady that just won a seat in the House around Illinois here, something about her just seems evil.
-
about what? the electoral margin is way closer than I'd like it to be.
-
I'm getting worried. really worried.
-
I especially liked when the camera on CNN was set up to show a wall of Kerry monitors and then panned over to show Bush monitors
-
77-66 KLerry? what happened?
-
"Now now, just because we can't call it doesn't mean it's close..." I don't get it either Mike
