Blazers aren't making the playoffs, so even trying to WIN a series is a moot point.
-
Damn it Devil Rays, way to blow it. I still don't have confidence in the Yankees though, and the Blue Jays haven't convinced me either. So I guess it will be Boston winning the East
-
Yeah, that run to Game 7 of the conference finals last year sure proved that. Yeah. The Senators lost their Game 7 on a fluke goal in the last two minutes, in the conference championship. The Maple Leafs got their asses whipped in Game 7 of round 1 because they blew themselves out in their first six. Who sucks again?

Somewhere I have a bunch of packaged Happy Meal toys from 1989 to about '93. Might be a gem in there

That's "You Get What You Give" by the New Radicals, right? No, it was CLEARLY "Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love" by Van Halen, you DUMBSHIT!

Fill me in. What is a salary floor? I thought this was funny. That is all. An Anglesault idea based on the fact that owners, either for lack of money or lack of want to spend it, do not invest in their team to make it competitive. So in contrast to the NFL limiting how much you can have on the payroll, a salary floor would mean you'd have a minimum amount of money you're putting into your team. He, as a fan of a baseball team that spends exorbitant amounts of money to win, supports it. I, as a fan hockey team that sits on exorbitant amounts of money because there's no incentive to win, supports it.

Luongo can play in Quebec City or Tampa Bay In reality, he's goin places, places other than Miami, so it doesn't matter how much we hypothesize.

Hurricanes, Coyotes, Predators, and Thrashers sound fair enough. Hell throw out the Panthers too, they're not doing anything. And if we're contracting the Panthers, toss out the Mighty Ducks, because if all the Panthers have are years of mediocrity and a fluke Finals run, that sounds an awful lot like our pals in Orange County. Reinstate the Jets, Whalers, Nordiques, and a new team in Halifax so as to tap the market for the Maritimes. That puts us down to 26 again, but I really think 28 is the best number. Rule change or not I'm not sure on this one: for playoffs, go back to top four from four divisions or top eight in two conferences? Hmm YES WIRTZ MUST GO. One of the wealthiest men in Chicago using "Winning costs money" as a reason to suck??? NO

Wait...Orlando Jordan...isn't that the 7-Up guy? Sigh. That will NEVER get old.

What does YES stand for? Anything? I'd guess "Yankees Entertainment & Sports" but I don't get the channel, for obvious reasons.

Way for Nick Dinsmore to evolve his character
The Czech Republic replied to Dandy's topic in The WWE Folder
This thread isn't gonna quite make it into classics like Tomko and Fertig. I'm all over having Fer(cough, hack)Eugene be an idiot savant and just be able to spout statistics in conversation, or go completely technical hyper-workrate in a match. A little depth/tribute to Waylon Mercy and Rain Man would beat just insulting the mentally disabled, which was NEVER my goal, nor RRR's, in Tomko and Fertig. Anyway: JR: So you like the WWE, Eugene? Eugene: WWE is AWESOME! I love it! JR: Do you have any favorite wrestlers? Eugene: THE UNDERTAKER!!!!! JR: Well, Taker sure is a popular one among our fans. Eugene: YEAHHHH! My favorite match was his casket match at the 1994 Royal Rumble against the late Yokozuna in which the contents of the urn were spilled, resulting in a loss of the Undertaker's so-called energy, allowing the defending champion to conspire with Crush, Tenyru, Kabuki, Diesel, Bam Bam Bigelow, Mr. Fuji, and Jeff Jarrett in closing the lid on the Undertaker. Then he "rose to the rafters" but I heard it was Marty Jannetty. Despite its sentimental value to me, and the impact it had on me entering sports-entertainment, I only give it one star for workrate. At best. JR: Uh...huh...what's your favorite move? Eugene: BAAAAACK BODY DROP! YEAH! Wait a minute: Brain-dead idiot who's a fanboy for certain guys, and then will rattle off some weird obscure statistic that only vaguely relates to what he's supposed to be commentating on? -
Jericho was from Calgary in WCW, Winnipeg in WWF, I think. This whole hometown thing is lame...part of the reason I like Jericho, Storm, Edge, and Benoit is that they ARE Canadian. At least they finally put LaRes back in Canada...though I wish they ahd been named Bloc Quebecois all along.

I AM crying over spilled milk
The Czech Republic replied to The Czech Republic's topic in Technology
Well it seems the sizzling subsided. The keyboard turned out to be the real dilemma. All the keys I need, shift, delete, etc....all went haywire. Absolutely haywire. It was like Trumpy from Pod People did something. So I was able to avoid becoming a new and worse NaturalBornThriller420 by finding an extra keyboard in the basement, same model, mind you. What luck!` -
at least you didn't do what I did and o "I'm thinking of a song that goes a da da da da DAAAAAAAAAA"
-
Yeah don't ask how. I spilled milk behind my desk and into my keyboard. Keyboard, problem, yes. Behind the desk, moreso. It spilled into an open socket on the power strip my whole computer setup is running off of in my room here. All I hear is sizzling. Is this bad?

I always used to root for the Knicks and the Nets but I became a devoted Nets fan and threw away my Knicks loyalty the day they traded Ewing. ... Why? When you root for a sports team, you root for the uniform. That's not easy when you're a Hawks fan...in order to root for a uniform, they need to be filled by people who at least SOMEWHAT deserve to don them. I stuck through losing Belfour, Roenick, Chelios...got past Amonte...when Housley, Sullivan, Karhpotsev, Mironov, Fleury, Klemm, Zhamnov all departed and were replaced by AHLers, that's just a disgrace to a historic club.

Astros losses bring smiles to my face.

When did this happen? And by that, I mean the firing on TV. I know of the bad blood, even the Austin stuff, but all I remember is Jarrett losing the IC title to Chyna at No Mercy in the 'Good House Keeping' match and then Jarrett showing up the next night on Nitro and Guitar shotting Buff Bagwell. I think it was Vince on the last Nitro. "Jeff Jarrett is Double-G, Double-O, Double-N, Double-E ----- GONE!" If it was anything else, I don't remember. Jarrett was ggoonnee? Is that pronounced "guh-goonie"?
-
That's what passes for a "skinny dipping adventure" these days? Sigh.

Model United Nations
The Czech Republic replied to rising up out of the back seat-nuh's topic in No Holds Barred
Well I've done it. I've invaded Slovakia to unite us once more. It had to be done. Czechoslovakia is BACK, Jack. -
In hockey #1, you missed an 'n' in there, I hope. Keep baseball at 162. But if you choose not to make up a game like the Giants did, it goes down as a forfeit loss, not as no game played, because then you get all those half-game behinds in your final season standings. I HATE that! What are you even talking about? Bud Selig doesn't own the Brewers. (stifles laughter) Hey by the way, I remember making tentative plans for TSM to buy the Brewers for $100, a handful of beads, and a six-pack of Old Milwaukee...anyone else with me on this? We can move the team to Dames's back yard.

It's gotta be NESN then because ESPN2 was given too...Stars-Avs? I forgot, I was too pissed. Last year we had everything but Sens and Isles and it was bliss. Did it ever occur to anyone that especially with Original Six teams, they have widespread national followings and regional coverage wouldn't be fair? Well it could've been worse, ESPN could've blacked out Opening Day even though it was a road game for the Cubs that wasn't being carried on channel 9, and I'm 50 miles away from Chicago. Oh wait
-
FUCK. Evidently, no first-round coverage for: Senators-Maple Leafs Canucks-Flames Blues-Sharks Bruins-Canadiens Flyers-Devils Unless I interpreted the Bottom Line wrong and they're rotating between the other three series for Game Ones and those five for Game Twos, this is nothing short of insane.

Dwayne Johnson may be ready to Rock out

Manny Legace + Third Stringer = THIRD LEG!!! Why didn't I think of that before? Probably because no one considers Legace to be worth a damn, since CuJo will be back. Hell, I'd laugh my ass of if Dominator returned. Um no. I think the consensus is that The Third Leg will be penetrating the first round of this tournament. Joseph isn't ready.
