  1. Definetly not, but those living in a civilized country shouldn't need to. Nobody's saying they NEED to. The second amendment doesn't state that every home NEEDS a firearm of some sort. The second amendment, quite clearly, states that if you so wish to own a firearm, the government cannot take it away from you unless you are a convicted felon. We do have restrictions on firearms. You cannot own automatic weapons in most of the states of the Union. You cannot carry a concealed firearm without having a badge of some sort. You cannot discharge your firearm unless in the proper section of the area (shooting range, area deemed permissable to hunt in, etc.). You cannot use your firearm anywhere that is not deemed permissable unless in a life or death situation (and, even then, the laws are rather strict on this, as investigations will be started). Are you stupid, or are you just missing the point? People that live in areas where violence is an every day way of life, for starters. Unfortunately, fully automatic weapons are highly illegal, so an owner of an Uzi - if it is indeed modified to be fully automatic - is a criminal, and is doing what is called, no pun intended, "overkill." Many Americans still believe Jews, blacks, hispanics, and Asians should be killed for being different. Many Americans still believe women should not be able to run for political office. That doesn't stop the Constitution from protecting the parties they disagree with, now does it? The Constitution is not, currently, a "majority rules" problem solving document. It is based on fairness and equality, and amendments are made to protect equality in this nation. Now learn a fucking thing or two about it before trying to start shit over it.
  2. EDIT: double post of extreme misfortune.
  3. IMO, he needs to start dropping the Kane rip-off persona, and just be a big ol' badass. From what I've heard, his promo's as Prince Justice were pretty good, so maybe have him shed the mask as a sign of him leaving Goldylocks and other oppressive "masters" (Kid Kash, Jeff Jarrett's Posse, etc.), and have him start cutting promo's. Can go in the ring, and is possibly the best big man in the States since Vader. Stop switching between whether or not AJ should be heel or face, and push him as one. He works best as the cocky heel, but if he becomes a face like that, then continue keeping the character the same. Give him CLEAN wins over his opponents again, especially his big matches, and watch his star rise. TNA is being incredibly stupid by, basically, treating AJ like shit by never giving him the true opportunity to show how great he is. I don't care for Shelly at all. Tell him to use more than just crossface punches and The Pounce, and to actually vary up his moveset and speed it up in the ring. He has untapped potential, and it would be a crime to not make use of it. If he doesn't get better and shake off the ringrust in the next few months, cut him loose. Treat them as WWE treated Haas & Benjamin in mid 2003. That means put them over cleanly over the faces, but they cheat when they need to. Wins do not come from the illegal man making the pinfall, or using weapons, or any other controversy, but come from simply outsmarting their opponents. Agreed. Use BG in a speaking-only role, and Konnan could be good for the Spanish announcers. Fuck him. No charisma, and tries to be a technical wrestling deity when nobody in TNA works that style. Part of being a great technical wrestler is knowing how to adapt. Fine them and depush them every time they dog it because they're told to job. Otherwise, I don't care. They get good enough reactions, but they're very bland. HERE is what the focus of the X-Division should be. He's very good in the ring, has a natural charisma to him, and can go with just about anybody. Well, that's why he's a jobber, since he's still training. TNA has their quota of hosses per their roster size in Brown and Abyss. Next. Young could have been a solid midcard face after he was turned on by Gilberti and Swinger, but the losing streak angle ruined him. If TNA is going to have women wrestlers, even if it's just Trinity and Desire, then they need to bring in women who can also work. Mercedes Martinez, Hayley Skye, April Hunter, etc. D-Ray is terrible, and Shark Boy is funny when given a good tag partner to work off of. Otherwise, he's useless. Agreed. Just have him manage AMW already! Jesus CHRIST! Harris and Storm are both mediocre on the stick, and Dusty has always had the ability to draw in everybody who's hearing his promo, despite his lisp. The thing about Watts is that he's very over in TNA, and only in TNA. Terrible worker, and his promo's are usually shyte, but for some reason, the fans like him. He's good for the occasional "hardcore" gimmick match, but that's about it. I'll admit it: I liked the team of Skipper and Kid Romeo in WCW better than I do Skipper and Daniels in TNA. Always have. Skipper and Daniels only seem to gel when LowKi is also with them in a 6-man tag, as Ki and Daniels are the real talent in XXX. Meh. His only name value these days is of a washed-up, former WWF/WWE Tag Team champion that would do outrageous bumps each match. Now, he can't do those bumps. He's lost everything about him that made him worth watching, so I'd say dump him ASAP. It's simple: stop putting yourself over everybody, Jeff. The fans are sick of it, and I'm sure the roster is sick of it. Put AJ or Truth over 100% clean, and then watch business start to pick up as you push THEM as the top guys. Don't fucking care about them. Outside of the 630, Clarke isn't impressive. Fairplay has charisma, and does love wrestling. I won't deny either of those. He should be the manager of The Naturals, as it seems Douglas and Stevens can't talk that well. Cut 'em both loose. Give them a degenerate gimmick, and tell Shane to stop being so angry in his promo's. Also...NEVER MENTION THEM AS X-DIVISION WORKERS. THEY DO NOT WORK THE X-DIVISION STYLE. His ring work is solid, but his heel schtick is DEFINITELY why I used to mark out completely for him during the 'Rush and say "KID KASH IS YOUR NEW FAVORITE WRESTLER." Push him as the uppercard heel, maybe Jarrett's buddy or maybe not. Either way, make him seem more important than he is, and give him wins over established stars. Neither are really TNA wrestlers, so I'd bring them in during special X-Division events as an attraction. Meh. Push him back to AT LEAST the uppercard, and stick him into a feud with somebody where he can be RAVEN and not some generic heel. If he doesn't start producing the goods again, then I'll say cut him loose. He should still be NWA World champion, in my eyes. If either he or Styles won the King of the Mountain match, the last few months would have been a whole lot more enjoyable. A Truth/Styles feud would be OFF THE CHARTS. Cut him loose. He's shown me nothing in TNA, outside of the Red/Dutt Best of 3 series, to make me think he's anything more than a generic cruiser. Cut him loose or give me a reason to give a fuck about him. Siaki is best in a tag team when as a cocky, prick heel. Team him with Kid Kash, maybe, and watch the entertainment increase. Only came in for those three or four weeks to do the World X-Cup. Fuck 'em. Fuck NOSAWA especially. Petey would be better if he didn't use the Sunset Piledriver to death (I HATE HATE HATE HATE that move so much). Devine IS the best wrestler of the bunch, as he's just solid all-around. Rude is blah, and Young sucks. Either bring back Teddy Hart, or go look for better Canadian talent than Rude and Young. And yes, D'Amore is a very, VERY good heel manager.
  4. And the reason they won't be above that level is because they don't offer anything that another company offers and do it better. Great in-ring action? Ring of Honor has that CORNERED in the States. Amazing high-flyer's? NWA Wildside, GCW, and CZW are where you can turn. Sports Entertainment? Nobody does it better than WWE. Family-friendly product? New England Championship Wrestling is the best at it, as the storylines are simple, and the wrestling solid. Unless TNA can somehow find a booker that can make the roster look like anything but useless jobbers, they won't survive. They got by, originally, on being different than WWE in a good way. Now, they're different in a bad way.
  5. Well, considering Lemmy rarely, if ever, moves while onstage...yeah.
  6. Well, if they want to lose their hard-earned dollars to a product that might fold, then sure, go ahead. But to act like there's nothing wrong at all with a company is just being blind. Hell, I'll admit it: I'm a very big ECW mark. I love watching my old ECW tapes, preferably the actual events, because there's an energy there I can't find anywhere else. But I'll also be one of the first to admit that most of the matches were terrible.
  7. Well, one thing I like about how Killings does his moves that he shares with Booker (sidekick and axe kick) is how he recoils off of his opponent and spins around. Sure, it's just a flashy little bullshit thing, but I enjoy it.
  8. Pretty good video package, and I can definitely tell that the WWE guy they hired is on the staff now. Too much Sting/Hogan, though, and not enough X-Division.
  9. Actually, Kahran, I beg to differ. Towards the end of WCW, mid 2000 until its closing, WCW were drawing around the same amount of fans as ECW was, with similar buyrates (though I wouldn't be surprised at all if ECW's were higher, since ECW fans seemed to be more diehard), so the same amount of people that gave a shit about WCW after the New Blood angle started was about the same amount of people still into ECW.
  10. **cries** Would the story have been better with zombies? Because everything's better with them.
  11. GRRRR!!!! What was last week's episode about? Yesteday's? I love the new TMNT so much more than I did the old cartoon, so I'm desperate here! Well...upside is they'll probably show the reruns on Cartoon Network in a few weeks...but I work when they do.
  12. Statement: Had Heyman accepted Vince McMahon's offer of funding the last ECW PPV, Living Dangerously '01, and even sending HHH down to work (I do believe this was the rumor around the time, only Heyman didn't accept), then the InVasion angle would have started both sooner and been better, with three factions (WCW vs. ECW vs. WWF) instead of just the Alliance vs. WWF.
  13. Can somebody PLEASE link it up to those that haven't seen it?
  14. I don't think it's necessarily he doesn't believe in good storylines and good wrestling, I think it's just he's too outdated, too "old-school" if you will, to realize that the modern fan doesn't want to wait three months to see two wrestlers finish a feud. At least not at the pace the feud progresses, which is pretty much "each week, the two promo each other, and have a match here and there." Today's fans, due to Russo and Sports Entertainment and the live television boom of the mid-to-late 90's, wants results NOW. They don't necessarily want to see the feud blowoff in a week or two, but they do want twists and turns and variations on the feud. It's not that hard to come up with a logical reason as to why two wrestlers should feud, and it's not too difficult to come up with ways to keep it interesting. Russo had the right idea here: watch successful movies of the past decade and take notes. A story doesn't need to be long to be great: it just needs to be good. EDIT: Also, it does hurt that TNA has never had a feud with a 100% clean blowoff. Fans don't want to see run-in's galore if they're extremely interested in the feud. Lynn/Styles and AMW/XXX have been the only remotely clean finishes to big feuds in TNA to date, and even Lynn/Styles had interference from Plumtree, and AMW/XXX had AMW double-team Christopher Daniels when they sent Skipper out of the cage and prevented him from re-entering. While the finishes to the feuds do make sense, as Plumtree was Styles' manager at the time and AMW were sick of being outnumbered by XXX and SEX, they still weren't 100% clean. Also, when every big title match ends with controversy? Bad idea to draw fans. I think the problem with Jeff is the same problem with HHH in 2002 and most of 2003: he feels that he is the biggest draw in the company, and feels threatened by better performers than him. He knows he's past his prime, and knows the fans don't want to really see him anymore, but he honestly believes that him on top is best for the company, as he was an uppercarder in the WWF and in WCW. He just needs to realize that TNA fans want an alternative to WWE, and want it to be good, and right now, with him making everybody else look like shit? That's not helping. Notice how fans turned away in droves when JJ won the match with Raven. Notice how more fans left when JJ won the title back from AJ Styles. And notice how when JJ and Mantell were booking, TNA's fan morale was at an all-time low. There is a way for TNA to turn around, and whether or not Jarrett is a part of it is up to you (personally, I think JJ jobbing to Styles CLEANLY and DEFINITIVELY, ditto for Truth, would help a lot), but the answer is definitely not the product they're offering right now.
  15. I was out until 2:30 AM last night, but that's because I needed a sammich and a SoBe, and my buddy Drew accompanied me.
  16. Kane pimps them ho's. Kane wrote War And Peace. Kane is actually Paul WS Anderson in disguise.
  17. ^If you're ever in Franklin, MA, and you order delivery from Franklin Pizza & Deli, be sure to request Andy to deliver, because I'd love a free cigarette.
  18. You can only count on one hand? Then I guess you haven't seen many matches that blew off "bloodfeuds," as blading is actually very important. Want some recent examples (last 7 years)? WM13 - Austin vs. Hart Yeah, it's been said, but the bleeding lead fans to believe Austin passed out from bloodloss and pain without having to tap out, and it made the match seem more important to the feud - which it was - by having Steve gig it. Badd Blood 97 - HBK vs. 'Taker If HBK didn't blade, then this would have just been a generic squash match in a cage. HBK blading was a build-up of all of the times HBK has gotten the best of 'Taker over the past few months, and the severity of the bladejob heightened the sense that 'Taker was out to not win the match, but to injure HBK. Royal Rumble 2000 - Cactus vs. HHH Is there any doubt in your mind that this match NEEDED blood? It's a streetfight. Both men gigged. It heightened the illusion that they were out to maim each other, more so Cactus maiming HHH than the other way around, and worked efficiently. Fully Loaded 2000 - HHH vs. Jericho Jericho was bringing his all to take HHH out. HHH gigged to, once again, heighten the illusion of importance for this match, and to sell Jericho as a tough SOB. Unforigven 2000 (I think) - Austin vs. Rikishi When Austin discovered Rikishi was the one that tried to end his career, then what sense would it have made if Rikishi didn't bleed by the time Austin was done with him? No Way Out 2001 - Austin vs. HHH After having it revealed that HHH masterminded the whole attempted vehicular manslaughter deal, all because he hated Austin and wanted the WWF Title, it wouldn't have made sense for HHH to not bleed, and since HHH is willing to go out of his way to make sure Austin isn't 100% for WrestleMania, Austin gigging was expected. Want some more? Because I know I just listed enough for one hand, but that was just WWF in 97, 2000, and 2001. I could give you a few examples from 98 and 99, if you'd like.
  19. Wasn't Justice Pain the CZW wrestler that jumped ship to XPW, and Zandig said would never get another CZW booking? Or was that somebody else? Also, how is the Messiah doing these days? He's the highlight of the few XPW tapes I have, so I'm curious.
  20. There's a difference between being a fan of a product, in which case you would admit its faults, and being a blind mark, in which case you would never say it's bad. Me and Mike have run into FAR too many blind marks for TNA, especially those that somehow think Michael Shane is X-Division.
  21. I'd just like to say, JC, that it'd be a lot cooler if Eddie Edwards was there instead of Chris Venom, since Edwards >>>>>>> anybody else in NECW. Also, fuck Frankie. If you find the tape of the Framingham show just before Birthday Bash (I think it was in July), me and my girlfriend were the only people cheering for Sain (Mike Osborne) over Frankie. We were pissed when Frankie won. It's fun going to NECW. I can be a mark again. But yeah...backyarding is fun. I'm going to do a swan-dive off of my roof through a table which has my buddy Chris under it, and then hit a DDT into thumbtacks. B-Y-W! B-Y-W! And Fashion Plate, my town has EWA on public access. Is this the same as NCW Northeast?
  22. Kane recorded St. Anger. Kane formed Papa Roach. Kane is the true head booker of TNA. Kane is secretly Rob Black's supervillain alter-ego.
  23. There's actually a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school up the street from my house I've been interested in taking since it opened. It used to be the Franklin Kung-Fu Academy, but has since become Tae Kwan Do, Boxing, and BJJ.
  24. At least there's one camera trick that isn't used too often: Forrest Force, as invented by Sam Raimi (ride a motorcycle through the woods with a camera strapped to a 10-foot steel pole).
  25. Too bad Ultimate Muscle isn't on FoxBox anymore. I'd like to see Hogan introduce that. Was Ultimate Muscle really just a 2-season (if that) show in Japan? Because that cartoon has some serious mileage should they continue it.
