Report: Clarett received gifts at Ohio State
kkktookmybabyaway replied to CanadianChris's topic in Sports
I was going to make a I'm-shocked-a-college-star-athlete-got-breaks-others-don't but I have been beaten to the punch. So I'll just take the easy way out and say boo-fucking-hoo to Clarett. BTW: What was this guy's problem again? He got a free ride in regards to tuition while at OSU. He proved himself on the field, which, barring injury, would have earned him big bucks in the NFL. He probably got all the poon he wanted, and he probably did get some "favors" from boosters and such. Why did he throw this all away?... -
Yet these are probably the same pseudo-hippies that claim the death penalty doesn't perform the same thing...

Depends on who you're talking about. How will the Big Media remember Arafat? How will the UN remember Arafat? How will Israel remember Arafat? How will the red states remember Arafat?...

But even when Max left and Tony took over, I still enjoyed the show. I admit the Voice did take something away from the show when he left, but I think ESPN was just too lazy (and cheap) to get another personality and just use some lame voice. I liked Holley, but I don't miss him. I think what really got me was the lack of music during the debate. Plus I also missed the "These four things I KNOW are true." The only thing I thought was a plus when they gave little "stats" to each of the reporters when they were introduced, but that doesn't even begin to counter all the things ESPN ruined on that show...

$65/hour?!?!?!?! And I thought PA Toll Booth Workers had it made with $17/hour+benefits for just giving change. I've only seen bits and pieces of it, but one thing that pissed me off a bit was fatty trying to get into that building during its last day of being in business. I don't think Mikey would have fit in the doors anyway... -
I had watched ATH for quite some time, and I always liked it. I enjoyed the pace of the show, the presentation and the in-bickering between the reporters. It had been a while since I watched the show, and yesterday I decided to turn it back on. I could only watch 5 minutes of this crap. First off, there's no more music during the topic discussion, the presentation has changed, and in many ways for the worse, and the reporters are now so incredibly lame. When did this change take place? And don't say "ATH has always been bad lol..."

You done fleecing your customers, commie? Hey that almost sounds like "Comcast." I wonder why... -
I didn't watch CNN this time around, so I missed Cryin' Judy -- although I remember her in '02, and it was golden to watch that, plus Carville put a basket on his head. When the election was all wrapped up, I did turn over to CBS just to laugh at Rather. This may have been mentioned in another thread, but I heard a few days ago Rather was arguing with some CBS talking head about the mathmatical possibilty Kerry could win Ohio, and Dan said something like "Well for the record Bob Sheffer (I think) does not teach mathmatics" and Bob said, "Dan, I did teach math..."

This site doesn't do a very good job of dispelling the "Bushies are dumb" myth. Sadly, I'd have to agree. But it's still funny as hell... -

That's because we eat our Third-Parties. Yes and no. No in the case that there isn't an "opposition president" but usually the opposition (in this case they would be Democrats) party leaders of both branches to our Congress are generally regarded as the "leaders" of the "opposition party." Example: From '02-'04 the Democrats "opposition leaders" were the Minority Leader in the House of Representatives (Nancy Pelousi) and in the Senate (Tom Daschle). The only reason they're called "Minority Leaders" is because Democrats are the minority party for both of those branches of goverment. Now granted there are other notable Democrat leaders, like Ted Kennedy and Pat Leahy, but I would have considered Pelousi and Daschle the "leaders" of the Party, which shows, imo, why the Party is currently the suq. Yes. And the President's political party also does the same thing, although most the time it's just a dog and pony show. The last time a president had trouble in the primaries was back in the 1960s. Any more questions? Tommy had a good post, too, regarding this subject (never thought I'd say that..._ -
