Not even going to ask your age, (I know better) but I was eight years old in '84 and remember bits of that election. My dad was an old-school union guy, and his friends were pretty much the same. He got laid off by Heinz in the early 80s and HATED Reagan. I remember on election night I was at the house of one of his friends, and they all voted Mondale. They all told me that both men would raise our taxes, it was just that Mondale was being honest about it. I remember being in the kitchen of this house when they showed the electoral map, and Reagan won all but MN, and everyone in that kitchen was silent and shaking their head. I think it was times like this that make me understand why my old man had a look of fear/outrage when I showed him my voter registration card, which stated what Party I joined, back in '94...
