  1. I remember The Wall and Berlyn having a feud for about a half second, ending with The Wall squashing Berlyn on Thunder. But I don't remember why exactly they broke up. Fake edit- Looked it up on DDTDigest...dumbass Russo booking. Anyways to elaborate, The Wall was wrestling Vampiro on the episode of Nitro the night after Mayhem. During the match, for whatever reason Berlyn hit Vampiro with a chair while The Wall had him in a chokeslam, causing Vampiro to get the DQ win. Understandably, The Wall got pissed and wouldn't let Berlyn leave the ring so Berlyn slapped him. Thus ending one of the most forgettable duos in wrestling history. I don't know who was supposed to be the babyface but Berlyn disappeared shortly thereafter and returned as Das Wunderkind six months or so later and The Wall would go on to greater things...sort of.
  2. Am I the only guy who enjoys Predator 2? Yeah it isn't nearly as good as the original and Danny Glover essentially plays Murtagh again and setting it in 1997 was really a dumb idea (Did they think we'd advance that much in the 5-6 years after they made that movie?) but it's got wacky Busey attacks and The Predator kicking ass and taking names! Somebody made fun of me last time I mentioned liking it . Make fun of me for liking Bubble Boy or Pootie Tang but not Predator 2
  3. I went out to eat and watched the first two Planet of The Apes movies. Can't see how a Thanksgiving could possibly get better than that. I never remember arguments on either side of my family RE: politics. Doesn't help that both sides are split about 50/50 between conservatives and liberals. We're all smart enough to realize that it'd probably get ugly if it were brought up. We're lucky I guess.
  4. Yeah I'd put Rocky Balboa above II (which is really just a retread of the first one) and V but below I, III, and IV. Though quality-wise, it's probably the second best behind the original. And I give III the slight edge over IV because he manages to beat Mr. T and Hulk Hogan. And it contains possibly the most hilariously homoerotic scene in cinema history.
  5. Boy Beneath The Planet of The Apes is really dragged down by those annoying mutants. As a kid, I never released that the movie was just a giant allegory for the Vietnam War. Things get pretty good though when Heston finally shows up at the end and they start kicking some mutant and ape ass. Incidentally, another film series of my youth with five installments (yeah I know there are six now but they were only rerunning the first five), the Rocky series was being played on Versus. Amusingly enough, my brother and I agreed that we'd rank the installments of both series' in the same order; 1. The first obviously 2. III and Escape 3. IV and Conquest 4. II and Beneath 5. V and Battle
  6. Oh man, Fox Movie Channel is running The Planet of The Apes series all weekend long (Channel of The Apes!) and is running some old school featurettes and wacky commercials with the apes running over Twentieth Century Fox studio. Best Thanksgiving ever!
  7. This quote followed "....assuming I'm running it." Fuck it, I'll run it. Hey feel free to take your old position back. I don't care. I only did it because you put me on the spot, you jerk!
  8. What? I don't remember volunteering for your position! Well I'll be busy roughly for the next two and a half weeks finishing up the semester but I imagine I'll have a boatload of free time afterward and thus I guess I'll take over the mantle of draft head unless someone else wants to do so. I think it should be a bit smaller in terms of draftees to be honest, 10-12 would be fine with 10 picks each. It seems like a lot of people are in the same boat as me RE: Not caring too much for later episodes.
  9. Ah what the hell? I'll do it. The fact that I haven't watched more than a handful of new episodes in the past five years or so may come back to haunt me though in later rounds. Ah well....can always catch up on Sidereel.
  10. Really...just a tad extreme. Damn her!
  11. I'm too lazy to search but I don't think my favorite of the guest stars of the baseball episode has been picked... ...Wade Boggs! "LORD PALMERSTON!" "PITT THE ELDER!" Fuck, any of the guest stars on the episode could have been drafted and it would have been a great pick. Fun fact: Canseco doesn't like to talk about his guest appearance on that episode. What a dope!
  12. He hadn't called his girlfriend in a couple of days and she was concerned. Really just a false alarm. I guess that's another thing. It'd be one thing if he did some sort of cool crime but no it's just a false alarm because he hasn't called the ol' girlfriend. I stayed up till 5 A.M. for that. Pshaw.
  13. I'm 99.9% sure he wasn't picked but I think even though he's overshadowed by Jon Lovitz's other guest appearances, Lllewellyn Sinclair would have certainly been draft worthy. "I'm not an easy man to work with. While directing "Hats Off to Chanukkah", I reduced more than one cast member to tears. Was I expecting too much from fourth graders? The review 'Play enjoyed by all' *holds up elementary school newspaper with said headline" says it all.
  14. I was waken up by a pair of state troopers at about 1:30 this morning! Damn them! They were looking for my roommate! Damn him! I have an eight thirty class tomorrow! Damn my poor scheduling! The weather forecast is for a wintry mix! Damn Mother Nature!
  15. Another unmentioned undraftee I probably would have picked if I were drafting... George Plimpton
  16. Boy, having only one channel sucks...especially when you can't sleep at 3 A.M. on a Tuesday. I'm left watching some weird ass court show with Kato Kaelin as the reporter. Dammit! Shouldn't World News Now be on? Why is Kato Kaelin still working anyways? Didn't his fifteen minutes pass about twelve years ago?
  17. I just picked up tickets to see Fountains of Wayne do an acoustic show at The Paradise Rock Club in Boston, MA on February 28th. Really curious to see this. I love Fountains of Wayne and they'll be playing some new songs but it doesn't seem like most of their songs would lend themselves to acoustic versions but I guess we'll see. I love band and I like the venue so I'm there.
  18. Oh man Alien Vs Predator...now that was a sack of shit. I love Alien (well the first two anyways) and I love The Predator so I figured it couldn't be too bad but man was I wrong. I was (still sort of am) mildly tempted to see the sequel but fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
  19. Ya know I love Alien, Aliens, and think Alien 3 is slightly underrated but still haven't seen Alien Resurrection. I should just keep avoiding and pretend it's a trilogy, right?
  20. Yeah, I don't know about a singles squash but I vaguely recall him squashing some jobber in a handicap match on one of the weekend shows. And boy that Zeus Vs Abdullah The Butcher match is even worse than I remember!
  21. Fair enough... And hey I found that Abdullah The Butcher Vs Zeus match I was talking about! By the way---if somebody wants to start the Let's Talk About...thread next week, by all means feel free.
  22. Hey we've had them for three or four weeks running, Canuck.Granted, they were all started by me... And Zeus did actually have a singles match. Not in WWF but he fought Abdullah The Butcher in Puerto Rico shortly after his WWF run. The match was on YouTube but now I can't find the damn thing. It was as bad as you'd imagine an Abdullah The Butcher Vs Zeus match to be.
  23. Can't believe it took me so long to get this considering my love of Beach Boys and Christmas music. Not one, not two but THREE versions of "Little Saint Nick". A lot of stuff from the '60s album is pretty fun stuff. "Santa's Beard" has almost topped "Little Saint Nick". I don't know why but songs about five year olds attacking mall Santa Claus just kill me. The unreleased stuff from their aborted late '70s album is kind of weak but man "Winter Symphony" is one of those lost Brian Wilson classics in my book. Hadn't even heard of the song before I got this.
  24. Take it back. Last Exit to Springfield is a gem. Yeah...thinking about it she does have a couple of good ones. Maybe I should have said episodes focused on her are weaker in comparison to ones focused on other characters. And I've never really thought of "Last Exit to Springfield" as a Lisa episode. Always thought it was more of a Homer and Burns episode. Really as I said in The Simpsons Draft thread, the only characters that have really annoyed me on the show (outside of maybe a few guest shots during the later years) are Lindsay Naegle and Helen Lovejoy.
