What if someone picks two versions of the same movie, Nighthawk? WHAT HAPPENS THEN!?
-
I'll still take those three any day of the week over Souled Out 2000, SuperBrawl X, and Uncensored 2000. Another difference between Russo and Sullivan (and I hate to sound like a Russo apologist because I swear I'm not) is that Russo's shows leave me frustrated at how inane the booking is while Sullivan's shows leave me frustrated at how ungodly boring they are. Russo's shows are headscratchers and they give me headaches but I can't really say I'm bored by them. Not by any stretch of the imagination. It's kind of preliminary but it looks like next time, we'll be watching World War III '96. Which IIRC isn't all that bad of a show. At the very least, it should be leagues better than what we've watched for our first two meetings.

All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft

Wow. I didn't realize he hadn't been picked earlier either. Say what you will about his wrestling skills (and they weren't great, though I hear he was a lot better in the 60s and early 70s) but like Duggan, he's one of those guys that's always over with the crowd. -
I may have been the only one in the chat that didn't completely hate that show. Sure, the booking completely sucked and the show wasn't very good but there was enough WrestleCrap and watchable matches to keep me mildly entertaining. The difference between Russo shows and Sullivan shows were Russo's shows moved. Sure they ended up going nowhere- but they moved. That Vampiro/Demon Graveyard match made those vignettes where Jake Roberts was training The Warrior look like Citizen Kane. Some of the funniest stuff I've seen on a professional wrestling show.

I'm about to head into the chat- hopefully we can shatter our record of three and a half people in the chat tonight
-
Actually, this could be the first time for me as well. I know I've seen bits and pieces of the show (Booker T Vs Jeff Jarrett, The Graveyard Match, Jeff Jarrett Vs Hollywood Hogan and the ensuing pandemonium) but other parts of the card seem completely foreign to me. Maybe I've blocked it out of my memory but I don't think I've seen this in its entirety. Should be...interesting.

This is a thread to discuss the tape we'll be watching at this week's meeting of The TSM Tape Club...Bash At The Beach 2000. I figure starting a new thread would be the best way to attract attention for this thingy. Part One Part Deux Part Three (Featuring Ralphus!) Part Four Part Five Part Six Part Seven Part Eight Part Nine Part Ten The meeting adjourns tonight in the TSM chat room at 8 P.M. but feel free to do some post show talk here. And those who cannot attend but have seen this Russorific show, feel free to make comments here as well.

I don't think there's a lobster salad sub at Subways down here. And if they had a lobster salad sub anywhere- it'd be here. McDonalds has one and as expected, it's pretty terrible. It's basically mayo and a shitton of lettuce on a hot dog bun with a little sliver of lobster. I'm not a McDonalds hater but they should have never attempted anything like this. Not when you can get a better lobster roll pretty much anywhere else for a two or three bucks more this time of year.

Somebody started a "mosh pit" when they played Limp Bizkit's "Break Stuff" at a 7th grade dance. Sad to say, I actually joined in. About a minute in, the DJ stopped the song and threatened to throw us all out. I watched a History of The Mosh Pit special on MTV2 a year or two ago and when they were talking about the "death" of the mosh pit in the late 90s, they showed a clip of people moshing at a Ben Folds Five concert. How could you justify that? There isn't even a guitar player in that band!

I still think WarGames 2000 is much more entertaining than '98? Better? That's subjective but more entertaining.

All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft
King Kamala replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in Draft Faggotry
Sorry- that ten minutes turned into an hour fast. Anyways, my next pick is a bit more new school than the rest of my roster. I also figured my roster could use a wacky, crazy guy and this guy fits that role to a tee. This guy's run in wrestling's big leagues was relatively brief but he definitely made a mark and was one of the bright spots in WCW's dismal last years. Why he hasn't gotten an extended run in WWE or TNA is beyond me. An underrated talent for sure. I'll be using him as a heel against Hector Guerrero in a crazy heel Vs straight laced, fiery babyface feud. He's a former WCW Tag Team Champion, WCW Hardcore Champion, and WCW Cruiserweight Champion. With my 25th pick and the 427th pick overall in the All Time Wrestling Roster Draft, I'm proud to select... ...Crowbar! -

I'm really confused after those last few selections (or non selections), am I up? -
I sat on the floor at a house show in July '02 and the tickets cost $40 a pop. At the last house show I went to in June '06, floor tickets were $60. I sat in the $25 cheap seats. That's what I'm going to do from now on because I can always move up. $60 for a floor show at a house show is way too much and I love house shows. Floor tickets are no good anyway if you're sitting past the sixth or seventh row. I'd rather sit in the cheap seats than in the tenth row.

I wanted my next pick to be versatile wrestler. This man is equally adept at wrestling a luchador as he is an old school southern heel. And he also has a trait I value- he can play a heel or a babyface. I'll be using him as the latter. As the lovable, high flying babyface lower mid-carder that thrills the crowd and gets them warmed up for the rest of the card. He's a part of Mexican wrestling's most famous family. He's a former NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion, a former NWA Florida Heavyweight Champion, and a former AWA Tag Team Champion. With my 24th pick and the 422nd pick overall, I'm proud to select... ...Hector Guerrero! -
I haven't seen it in a decade but I remember liking this show. Maybe it was because it took place right around the time I was coming back from my yearish long hiatus from watching wrestling, maybe it was my already low expectations for these In Your House shows but I liked it. I remember Razor Ramon/Vader being a pretty good match in the *** range and 123 Kid Vs Marc Mero is probably decent as well.. The only thing on the card that outright sucked was The Ultimate Warrior Vs Goldust
-
Maybe if it was Big Bird taking a dump on your head. That sounds like it could be a cutaway scene on Family Guy...perhaps it already has been.

I got shot with a potato gun in the inner thigh when I was in 6th or 7th grade by some random teenagers driving by when I was walking home from school. I have a feeling they were aiming for another nearby body part and to this day, I'm grateful that they missed their target.
-
On the other hand, he could be a Jake Roberts/Keith Richards type that just can't be killed.

Jon Lovitz was on Comics Unleashed With Byron Allen last night. It was kind of depressing. I don't expect Lovitz to be some kind of huge box office star but you'd think he'd be getting cool character parts but he isn't even getting that. Has anybody else seen Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen? I wish I could say I haven't.

Even though he wasn't a great worker (or even marginal) in his last years, Andre was always a smart worker. I haven't seen the matches in years and years but for some reason, I remember his series with Jim Duggan was surprisingly watchable.

I lament the loss of the seafood salad. There's still one Subway near my camp which had it the last time I visited it but that was eight months ago or so. I hadn't seen it in years before that. In its place Tuna on Honey Oat with lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, jalapenos, and a little bit of olive oil. Makes my breath stink on ice but its deliciousness makes it worth it.

Name a food you didn't like/truly appreciate....
King Kamala replied to NoCalMike's topic in Food Folder
It's odd, I'm the same as you LOTC with shrimp. But when I was a kid, I wouldn't touch cooked shrimp but could tolerate cold shrimp. I'll still eat cold shrimp but it's on the lowest tier of seafood, just slightly above Long John Silver's and sardines.
